I was very disappointed with this place. It's just one big health code violation! The bagels were out in the open and I hate that because I don't like flies touching my food. The girls that were making the food don't wear gloves and while I was waiting for the food I saw the girl touch her ear and her hair and never washed her hands. Disgusting. Also, one of the girls was eating a strawberry! You can't eat while you're working and behind the counter making food. I don't want your spit on my sandwich. It was very unprofessional. One of the girls was wearing sunglasses on her head... aren't you working?? The guy that was there was wearing sweatpants. There were like 4 choices of meat for your sandwich. SO gross. I'm going to be a condescending New Yorker here, but please bear with me, it's for your own good: These bagels have no earthly business in a strip mall in Myrtle Beach. OK, H&H still has (or had...) them beat. But honestly, most bagel shops in NYC could only hope to make a bagel as well as these folks. I had an everything (of course) with sausage and egg. Bagel was perfect - great body, excellent level and distribution of toppings. Egg was obviously fresh and not out of a carton, sausage was standard fare. I have a weakness for fresh breads, bagels and that entire genre of carbs. This place was recommended by a friend and I owe them a debt of gratitude. I have eaten bagels from shops across the entire country and the bagels here are some of the best I have ever tasted. The atmosphere is nice and the smell of the place is wonderful. Combine that with a great staff and you have the perfect bagel place. The only downside to this place is the early hours. Bagels were average at best. I got the Everything Bagel and it was nothing special. My wife had the vegetable cream cheese which was more or less pureed vegetables thrown in some cream cheese. I want to fairly review this place as professional bagel lover!!!! First off... It is not a bagel... If you are a bagel conasuer you know what I mean... The bagels taste like stale bread. It was not worth the price even with the local coupon. My sandwich barely had one egg on it, it was all bread! Even taking the top off it was awfully. The Bagel Factory has been a staple along the Grand Strand for many years. It is the closet thing that locals have to a NY Style Deli breakfast. A quick stop in the mourning leads to a great toasted bagel and cream cheese or a hearty omelet and home fries. I haven't tried it for lunch but I know they serve Boar's Head meats! I used to live in the MB area and this was a favorite place - today I was really disappointed. The bagels are no longer NY style but rather airy and soft - lacking density. To start, I have to admit I *should have* reviewed this place years ago as the 4 star I would have given it. The star deduction would have only been because of price (expensive for bagels). As a native north Jersey person transplanted in the south, I was elated to have found a bagel place that had authentic bagels. Had. Since last year (I come down to Myrtle about once a year) their bagels have taken a nose dive. Authentic bagels should be dense, chewy with a shiny crust. They're now.... basically just bread. Bagels are pretty good. I'm rating it 3 stars for a couple reasons. First, they are always out of blueberry bagels. Always. If it's so popular, make more! Pretty simple concept. Today when I went they were out of 6 different flavors, including the Everything flavor. Second, the two older employees (man and maybe his wife? Owners?) are very gruff and not friendly. We went during late breakfast hour and it was still busy which is a good sign that lots of people like their food! I've had bagels from all over the US, and these are superb!! They had the perfect crispy outside and soft center. I had a great breakfast bagel with Taylor ham and egg. They had lots of bagel choices! Service was great considering it was an order, and wait for your number kind of place. Great for a quick breakfast, and good coffee. Personally, I completely geeked out when I saw that they offered Taylor Ham as a breakfast meat; being from Jersey originally, I didn't think I would ever find this delicacy anywhere south of the Mason-Dixon. Needless to say, I got myself a Taylor Ham, egg, and cheese bagel for breakfast. Girlfriend got the lox and cream cheese on an everything bagel. Both were pretty damn good. No complaints on the food. The lady at the counter wasn't particularly polite, but again, it's a bagel shop. You order, you sit, you eat, end transaction. Anyway, the bagels were fresh, crispy on the outside, and chewy on the inside, just like they're supposed to be. Our sandwiches were assembled properly, made quickly, and tasted good.
