Definitely needs a remodel; paint is peeling and the place has NOT been updated in years. The owners care more about new trucks than treating the customers or employees well. Shut the place down for a week clean the blinds install chair guards, throw out the equipment that has not been used in years, shorten the menu (chicken tenders??), and PAINT. Not sure what all the hate Is about. Galloway in general has very little to offer in the restaurant area. I had a bagel with egg/cheese and a medium coffee, and it was 4 bucks. I think the prices are fair, and service was quick, I mean it's not a fast food place so you will have to wait a couple of minutes, but there's a dunkin donuts literally attached if you are in a hurry. Horrific service , lady legit yelled at me for trying to pay. Unreal, this place used to have nice people working up front. Now it's one grumpy old lady and a couple other people that don't talk and do all the work. Our entire company used to come every Friday morning, not anymore. Nice staff for the most part, and their bagels are bagels, nothing impressive. The breakfast sandwiches I normally get on bagels are always way too sparse on the eggs and meat. The egg and meat are never ever showing on the outside of the bagel, there is so little that it is hidden inside. I always, consistently have more bread that I simply pick apart and waste than meat and eggs. I pretty much pay for a whole sandwich and really only get half a sandwich. read more

So....after all these years, I finally asked them why their bagels are sooooooooo good! The gentleman told me they "steam," not boil, their bagels. They are the very best in the area. When we have out-of-town visitors, they often return to bring a "bakers dozen" home with them :) Well worth the visit. And, get this....a bakers dozen is only $10!!! read more

These are not like north jersey / new york type bagels ( they are the best!) For this area, Bagel Gourmet are the best! The cream cheeses are pretty good quality. Usually try bagel sandwich with sausage, cheese and two eggs. Actually very good and filling. They do have a large assortment of quality bagels which again for the area is very good. read more

Honestly I have given them so many chances to prove to me their worth going to. Their bagels are frozen and taste terrible. The worst part is that they have the slowest service of any place I have ever been to. A bagel shop is supposed to be quick and you should be able to get a bacon, egg, and cheese in 5 mins. I have seriously waited 40 mins for my food and on average about 20. You would think they would hire more people since they only ever have 2-3 people on. Please trust me since I have been here over 20 times and it will be a waste of time and money. read more

Absolutely horrendous service and unsanitary conditions. A take-out order of two bagels with cream cheese shouldn't take 25 minutes. As I waited for my order I watched the cashier handle money, play on her cellphone, then grab bagels and touch food (multiple times) without gloves. read more

I'm a fan of bagel gourmet. They have the best bagels in the area hands down and I will often make a trip on my way home from the grocery store to get some for the week. The prices for their bagels and food is cheap as well. Affordable and tasty. They are also very nice with friendly and fast service. There are few points they could definitely improve upon. The first couple of tables nearest the bagel counter are terrible to sit at since people wanted to see the selection of bagels need to stand and bend over right on top of you. I think they should just remove those all together. The layout of the rest of the tables is a bit odd but serviceable. If you eat-in they serve everything on styrofoam with plastic ware which is terrible for the environment and pretty difficult to eat on at times depending on the dish. There coffee is also awful, but they have an extensive creamer/sweetner bar so if you are the kind of person who drowns bad coffee in cream and sugar you'll be happy here. read more

Yea I'm not going here again, I always went out of my way to this one because of their better drink selection, but I guess that have a new person who works there who apparently burns every bagel. Granted, I got the last everything bagel, but I wouldn't pay the $3 for something not enjoyable to eat. I would have been happy with the honesty and change in bagel, instead of waiting extra time listen to them argue about who was going to give me my burnt to sh** bagel. Every time we have been in the staff has been friendly and nice. The service is remarkably slow. Today we went in for 4 bagels with cream cheese. Took between 10-15 minutes for them to get these done. There weren't many people there when we arrived and there was absolutely no reason for the holdup. We've began referring to this place as bagel DELAY since the service is so obscenely slow. Also, about 50% of the time, if ordering anything other than a bagel with cream cheese, your order will be wrong. Since the service is so slow, the orders have several times been wrong, and the bagels are not very good (not a knock on this place, just almost all bagels in south jersey are not done well; with the exception of one place in cape may) we will likely not be returning much. read more

Bagels are good, food in general is good and croissants are excellent, but I really wish employees wore gloves when they prepare a sandwich. God knows where their hands have been. read more
