There is only one shop to compare subs(hogies) against. Pete's matches and exceeds the WH in AC.

Greeted by friendly staff, explained everything with a few suggestions. This was one delicious sub, the bun was firm but not overly, beef was moist and tender. Portions were a good size, but not oversized. A definite must stop and try if you are visiting the area. They need a 6th star for this place. read more

Different Cheesesteak #1170. Special guest eater Jordan. Her Karl had his wisdom teeth pulled (forever ago and he stills whines about it) so he didn't eat. I've heard great things about Pete's. I was disappointed. The meat was good. The AC roll is a nice change of pace roll but my half had a complete blow out. Cheese was sparse, on top and 'kind of' melted. Few undercooked mushrooms. Going down the shore? I highly recommend this place. We stopped by here on our way to Ocean City. Beach food definitely consists of subs or a good Jersey Diner! The subs here were so big for even a half size. For less than 8 dollars you can get a fresh hoagie (half size). The half size hoagie was big enough for 2 servings for me. Service was quick at this place. The cold hoagies also have add on such as lettuce, tomato, onions, hot peppers, oil or mayonnaise. Do not miss the hot peppers they have in packets near the to-go cutlery. I could put those hot peppers on every dish ever. read more

3.8 rating. I've ordered from there twice, and while I'd probably order again, there are some things I wish would be fixed. My first time was a rough start, it's hard to get through to place a phone order, so I ordered inside and waited. The service is pretty fast and I wasn't waiting too long though. I ordered a turkey and cheese and my husband got the Italian special. The prices and amount of meat you get is pretty good, and the main reason I came back. Their rolls could use an update though. The bread is too soft and pretty narrow in my opinion for a proper hoagie. On our second try, we both tried the buffalo chicken cheesesteak. This was disappointing solely because of the bread. While the amount of hot sauce and blue cheese dressing was good, the bread couldn't hold up in my 5 minute drive home and was already soggy and falling apart at the bottom. Staff is friendly there and they've got a good variety of chips and sodas to choose from for takeout. It's good, it's a good sub place, their burgers are really good though, I wish they made more types. Con's are, they won't pick up the phone the last hour they are open so you can't place a pick up order so that forces you to go in even later to place an order, I don't understand that. And not being able to pay when you place a Togo order, it forces you to wait inline a second time while your food just sits there while other people order their food. read more

Will not return!! Placed an order was told 20mins I arrived before the 20mins and the kitchen staff started making comments. Saying it's not ready and I thought you told her 20mins. Lady who took the call said I told her 20 and that was more like 5.. Kitchen cooks then started making comments in the time being only 5 mins and looking out at me at the counter. There was absolutely no reason for this. I acknowledged I was already on my way so I was there pretty quick and there is no rush. I understand.. I live down the street from this institution. Classic American deli serving huge sandwiches. Half is enough to feed two people and whole is about an arm's length of a sub. I usually order the cheeseburger sub. Pretty straight forward, a cheeseburger in sub form. Side of the hot pepper relish is a must to add extra flavor and to cut through some of grease with the spice and acidity. Breakfast sandwiches are pretty good too. I've heard a lot of people rave about their cheesesteaks but I have yet to try since I'm in philly most of the year where there is a plethora of cheesesteak institutions. Summer time is peak season with all the families vacationing to the ocean city area so getting a hold of them on the phone may be a challenge. They use good bread, and the meats or decent, with a little more care and attention to detail it could be better. certainly not worth the high prices. for what I paid for my family of 6 to eat ok subs we could have made filet mignon at home. service is bad, they treated us with an arrogant attitude. They acted like they were doing us a favor, when in reality if they continue to treat their customers like this they will be out of business in no time. ever since the plandemic the place just hasn't been the same. it's a weird set up with foof prep on one side and the counter in the next space over. I wanted a Caesar salad but they were out of romaine lettuce so I ordered a house salad. When I opened the takeout order, it was shredded lettuce that they put on subs with a pile of onions on top. Salami and cheese were rolled up with stale croutons. I never had a house salad that consisted of that. They were not helpful on the phone, then I tipped the cashier, and she never acknowledged me.
