Upon service you should have it stated somewhere in the business that there are no refunds. 2/3 sandwiches were mid level for the price. A regular pork roll egg and cheese it shouldn't be $10 for 3 thin burnt slices of pork roll. It's Terrible business practice to offer either another burnt sandwich or the door. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND

First time here - will come back! Bacon was crispy, bagels were fresh, service was awesome! I'd say a hidden gem - but that's because we just figured out it was here - we'll be back soon!

there's a reason why this place is so crowded on a summer morning. A great bagel shop close to the beach and a reliable stop to grab lunch or breakfast. Bagels were good and so were the sandwiches we got!

Ordered breakfast from here due to other places being being closed due to the power issues. I've ordered from here a few times in the past when I'm in town although it's not my favorite it's never been how it was today. When we called to order my boyfriend who is not from New Jersey who visiting out of town ask what kind of bagels they had he said regular bagels! What does that even mean? Lol! He is from Las Vegas he doesn't know about poppyseed onion bagels all of that he should've answered that rather than just saying OK onion bagel. Like hmm we have this and and that! Then when picked up my food & opened my bagel, the pork roll was cooked to a crisp! Horrible come on it's not bacon! We all know how pork roll is supposed to be cooked! I was truly unsatisfying! I only ate half of it since I was starving, I discarded the other half because it was not edible. The bagels do not taste fresh at they're definitely not made in house. I then decided to call the restaurant back because they should know whoever is cooking the food is cooking over cooked pork roll we paid!! Mind you we paid $15 for two sandwiches. His short response was that he will let the cook know! The owner didn't even care, it wasn't about money I was hungry I ate it . Just the lack of care and customer service. I don't recommend bagel guys at all!

The butter looks like it has been through something - maybe it is old.

Social distancing and masks? No Apparently wearing masks is optional, whether you are a customer or an employee. In addition this is what a buttered bagel looks like. Butter looks old. Let's talk about the food: The butter on this simple buttered bagel looks like it has been through something. And there's two different textures going on here... this is disgusting. Sadly I only noticed after taking a bite and wondering why the butter tasted old and gritty. Not acceptable BGD! And the bagel is stale and it is only 11:30am

The marginal food and high prices are probably not worth the surly, non-customer focused attitude of the staff

This is one of the worst bagels I have ever had anywhere. There is no way they make these bagels on site bc my bagel was hard as a rock.

I stopped by the Long Branch location, located in a small plaza with plenty of parking. The interior is pretty small. No seating available - just a register to order, counter, pick-up area, and merchandise section. They only operate as a grab-and-go. I can see it being cramped during rush hours in the morning... luckily I came by on a weekday afternoon and was the only one there. Rook prides itself on having a small and simple menu. They only sell hot pour-over single origin coffee and cold brew. They picked a few things to perfect and do really well. So for espresso lovers, you're out of luck. BUT don't let that steer you away because their drinks are phenomenal. They use high quality, premium beans. The employee was extremely helpful with guiding me through the menu and giving me recommendations. I love that milks and sweeteners are available at no additional charge! They also have decaf and half caf options. I ordered a Vanilla Cold Brew (regular size $5.50) with milk and sugar. And let me tell you... it was love at first sip! It was probably the best cold brew I've ever had. Super smooth, rich, and creamy. The vanilla flavor wasn't overpowering and added just the right amount of sweetness. I definitely understand why so many people love their coffee. I wish there were more locations closer to North Jersey because I can see myself becoming a regular. If you can't visit a storefront, you can buy their cold brew concentrates or coffee beans online. Don't sleep on Rook!

He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to answer all of our questions about the menu. Stopped in while I was nearby and went with a classic drip brewed coffee and one of their frittata sandwiches. They offered different brew strengths which was cool that I had the option and not forced into one. I went with the light roasted brew with some almond milk and vanilla syrup. Their light roast is exactly that, light roast. The coffee tasted great and had hints of flavor I've never really tasted in other commercial light roasts. I also ordered their frittata sandwich on rosemary focaccia. This is definitely something you wouldn't expect to find in your average cafe! The sandwich was hot and definitely made that day. The frittata had chopped up bits of bacon and cheddar throughout and paired well with the rosemary focaccia. They definitely thought out of the box with that one.
