I'm a fan of this everything place that includes bagels, breakfast (omelettes, pancakes, etc), and juice bar. I've come here for breakfast at breakfast and lunch. I think their bagels are fresh and so is the salmon, but I wish the salmon bagel wasn't so expensive. I know it's a salmon NYC thing but still. I find some of the breakfast plates a bit greasy so I prefer the bagels. The juice bar is a nice addition to your order so you feel healthier or so you get your greens in, since the bagel won't. read more

When the manager came she LIED and said she didnt Call me a bitch ... after I told her that her mother is a bitch and her hair looks disgusting!! She then threatened to slap me in front of her manager WHO DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I was asked to leave which I did!!! Because imagine spending money called a bitch and threatened then say they want to call 911 on you!! A refund was issued and I hope they threw the food out instead of giving it to another person as my sister who was with me had it in her hand. Carbs--everyone loves them--but where do you go to get your morning fill in Crown Heights? There's no lack of places, but I'll humbly suggest Bagel Pub. Before finding Bagel Pub, I'd go to Nagel's Bagels. Now that's not a bad choice, so if you're already up in arms ready to engage in a bit of fisticuffs, I assure you, that's totally unnecessary. I love Nagel's, but it's a bit small so if you're looking for a place to sit down, Bagel Pub is gonna be the better option. Bagel Pub is gonna give you exactly what you're looking for--fresh bagels with some extra offerings. I had a cinnamon raisin bagel with egg and cheese and it was great. I'm sure all their stuff is good, but will only speak to what I had. In the back you'll be able to see the massive operation happening to bring you those delicious round delights. I love when this happens and the fact that you get that here is a bit unusual. I see this more in restaurants where the kitchen is right there for you to be a bit of a voyeur. There are plenty of tables and a bar with stools by the window. Whether you're by yourself looking to do some work or with some friends/family looking to unwind a bit, you'll likely find a cozy spot. The Pub (yea we're getting informal now) also has plenty of other offerings including those disgusting fruit/vegetable blend drinks. If that's your thing, great, but that's way to healthy for me. It is common practice to use a credit card/Apple Pay to purchase items, so why was I unknowingly charged a 3% fee on my total without notification from the cashier? Bagel Pub's response was " we give a 3% discount to those customers that pay by cash, it just cost us less to take and we pass those savings directly back to customers" I'm still unsure as to how this discount works, charging an additional 3% on my total for using plastic. Or, is it a 3% discount for using cash?!? This is not appropriate and needs to be clarified correctly, or just stopped. Also, the itemization of the bill was not displayed at the checkout screen, and I was not offered the option to receive an itemized paper receipt after paying, which hides all the charges. We also asked for a chai latte substitution for the coffee in the ABC special, however, we were just charged full price for the latte and still didn't receive the coffee. I regretted tipping now because I was only presented the grand total at the end of the transaction. I use to frequent your parkslope location for years but you've lost my business with these shady tactics. read more

They have a variety of cream cheese options (e.g. Chipotle w/lox and strawberry) you can't commonly find around NYC and bagels including blueberry that are all made in-house. It's usually busy during the mornings and weekends which is why I recommend calling your order in or using their app. Not a fan of their coffee and would make the effort to get elsewhere for that. read more

Came here for breakfast after a night out. It definitely satisfied my craving for something with bagel egg and cheese but wasn't anything too special. I got my usual, a whole wheat everything with egg, cheese, bacon, and avocado. All the elements were there but overall it was pretty average. I did find that the fillings had a burnt/char/smoky taste that wasn't to my liking. But I'd definitely go back and have a go at their other specialties and maybe a smoothie. read more

Bagel Pub has a huge menu, good products, and even gluten free bagels. Their smoothies are also really good. Unfortunately, every time I've been there the manager (bald guy with tattoos) has been fuming around seeming incredibly frustrated and yelling at the workers, who seem to be doing the best they can as far as I can tell! If there are problems, then as manager he should be addressing issues in a civil way away from customers. Or perhaps it is an issue of understaffing? In any case, his gruffness affects the atmosphere of the whole restaurant. Oh, and don't even try coming here on a weekend lunchtime. Lines out the door! read more

Sad that this local spot isn't better but it just... isn't. The bagels are only ok- they haven't nailed the chewy exterior so the whole thing is a bit doughy. But the real downsides is that this place is SO SLOW. I went in on Sunday - obviously it's busy, so I'm expecting a bit of a wait - but the experience took 40 MINUTES. To get a couple of bagels, one with a simple egg and cheese and one with cream cheese. I mean. That's insane. The prior experience was almost 20 minutes FIRST THING on a Saturday with basically no one in there. The Bagel Pub was a great spot to walk to on Sunday morning for a bagel fix! I got a toasted everything bagel with veggie cream cheese and my boyfriend got a plain toasted bagel with Cucumber Dill cream cheese. I can't say how his tasted because he ate it so fast I didn't get to try it LOL. But he said it was great and not too heavy on the dill which he was worried about. I absolutely LOVED my bagel. They gave a LOT of cream cheese which I love and it tasted very fresh and light. My bagel was the perfect balance of doughy yet crunchy from being toasted. My coffee was excellent as well. After we finished our bagels my boyfriend went back in to grab the Banana Latte that was being advertised outside. We shared it on our walk back and it was SO GOOD. very filling but that also might have been because we just had a bagel lol. My boyfriend said the staff was very kind (I waited outside because I had my dog with me.) and honestly he was in and out with our bagels very quickly! So even if the line is long- it seems they move very quickly. I wish this place was closer to my boyfriends apartment- but maybe it's a good thing it's not .... The food is quality and the staff are generally friendly. Unfortunately the issue here is that everything is overpriced. This is not fancy food, it's basically the same thing you'd expect from a high end bodega. Bagels, cream cheese, bacon, eggs, sandwiches, salads. Everything costs about two dollars more than it should. They are charging eight, nine, ten dollars for a gentrified egg sandwich that you could get across the street for less than half the price. Also...the prices on the menu on the front of the cream cheese case are not the prices that they charge you when they ring you up at the register. The price on paper where you order is less than what they actually charge you and those are some classic, shady shenanigans. read more

So I first wrote a review a year ago and gave them 3 stars for customer service. This time around, it was my second time coming here and the same applies - the customer service stinks. When I went to pay, two employees were standing by the register talking...I stood there for about a minute until I had to ask them if I could pay...one employee said yes and rings me up...she then continues to speak with the other employee until I had to ask what my total was... though the food is good, I remembered why I always walked past this place. It was my first time coming here. My brother-in-law and I found this spot through Yelp. It's a busy, cute spot on a corner in Crown Heights-Broooklyn. We ordered the Jumpstart Egg Sandwich, Philly Cheesesteak Wrap, and 2 double shot espressos over ice. The workers were extremely attentive and I loved that. Due to the overwhelming amount of orders and people, our food took longer than anticipated. As a result of the long wait, Chris reassured us that our food would be right out. Once he delivered our food, he gave us a red velvet cake to compensate for the wait. He also offered refills for our coffee. We loved it here! My friends and came here because we wanted the infamous, authentic NY bagel. I ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel with strawberry cream cheese. We were warned by a local not to ask for the bagel to be toasted because the true NY method of making bagels produces a nice crispness on its own. So when the man asked me about toasting, I declined. ;-) My bagel was soft (but not chewy) on the inside yet slightly crispy on the edges. There truly was no need to toast it further, at all. I've been going here for years and have always liked it. However, a recent event changed that. As anybody who's been following the news knows, the FDA and the CDC recently issued a warning that everyone should stop eating romaine lettuce due to an Ecoli outbreak. A few days ago, I ordered a side salad here without giving it much thought because I assumed that Bagel Pub, like every other restaurant in the area, had stopped serving romaine lettuce. After a few bites, I discovered romaine lettuce in the salad. I approached the manager about them serving romaine lettuce. He told me he was aware of the FDA warning then tried to brush me off by telling me his romaine lettuce must be fine because why would his supplier send a shipment if it were potentially infected? As of a few days ago when I ate there, the FDA had yet to trace the source of the infected romaine lettuce. When I pressed him on the issue, he tried to get rid of me by promising that he would "look into it". He didn't offer a refund for my uneaten salad. It doesn't matter how good a restaurant is. When a restaurant is this careless with their customers' lives, they deserve one star. Based on the manager's attitude, I have doubts as to whether he ever ceased serving romaine lettuce. I hope this message gets out to as many people as possible so that folks can keep themselves safe by avoiding this place until the Ecoli scare is over. read more

Always passed by during the construction trying to imagine what a bagel pub would look like. It's here and I decided to stop in for breakfast. Honestly really good looking establishment. Very clean inside and out. Definitely hipster vibe with great music. Most of the seats were taken. No worries had to hurry to the plantation so I was taken my bagel to go. Registers surrounded with staff ignoring you as you walk-in. I kept walking and a saw a sign that said order in the back. One person in front of me. Ordering went off without a hitch. I ordered a whole wheat everything bagel, well toasted with plain cream cheese and bacon. I was given a paper with my order on it. No explanation whether to wait there and receive my order or go to the front and pay and wait. I decided with the latter to speed up the process. There were 3 cashiers chattering away behind the register area. Only one of them was actually ringing up customers. 5 of us were standing around waiting to pay. After about 5 minutes a second cashier decided she wasn't being paid to talk for a living and started ringing people up. Alas I'm next and this same cashier yells next. I cringed as if I just heard the screeching sound you hear when nails are dragged along a chalkboard. Pet peeve of mine when in a establishment and being summoned by the word next. Like I'm standing in line for free government cheese instead of paying $5 for a damn bagel. I begrudgingly walk up to her and she doesn't immediately greet me. I briefly misplaced my ticket. Have a eureka moment and quickly retrieve it from my pocket. Then she greets me with a hi how you doing. Doesn't even wait for a response before she tells me the price. I whip out my debit and hand it to her. She hands it back and turns the tablet and says sign here. I tip even though I shouldn't. She quickly murmurs thanks have a nice day and before I can even get my card back in my purse she yells "next". Calling another calf to slaughter. The bagel was delicious. Love whole wheat, love everything and the fact that I can have both in one shot I'm happy. Not to mention its a well made NY bagel. The bagel was well toasted like I asked. Which seems unimportant but you'd be surprise how many "well toasted" bagels I received with no color or burnt. So kudos. The cream cheese was enough but not too much and bacon was salty and greasy how I like it. The bagel was big and I stayed full until lunch. Overall if you can overlook the chatterbox, not that friendly staff and the confusing unorganized matter that is Bagel Pub. It's a solid bagel spot. I know its been about a month BP but please tell your cashier staff if they insist on talking they have to learn to multitask and move their hands just as much as their mouths. Smiling wouldn't hurt and asking can I help whose next versus shouting next would make a huge difference. Gracias! read more
