I ordered three times in the past week, the first time no problems, pleasant young lady took my order and everything was really good. The second time the man at the register with the dark energy (I assume the owner), seemed annoyed when I ordered one of the specials listed on the outside menu, but didn't know the number of the special and had to go back outside to find out what the number was. Food was okay but I got a really random and urgent case of diarrhea later that day. Didn't think anything of it until a couple of days later I went there again to order for the third time. When I walked in I immediately got a really bad vibe and knew I would never go there again. He (the assumed owner) immediately noticed me and nearly pushed another cashier out of the way to take my order. Reluctantly I ordered the same thing I ordered the first time but with a smaller coffee and somehow it cost 2 dollars more than the first time. After debating whether I should even risk eating the food, hunger convinced me that I was probably just being paranoid and so I ate it knowing that if I got diarrhea again that I was intentionally poisoned. As a person who had a colonoscopy within the last year, the prep is not something that you easily forget. I'd seen this baby show for many years and never got a chance to visit until recently. It. It was pretty lively on the inside, because inside coming with a few chairs and folks coming in-and-out to purchase bagels or sandwiches. The selection of cream cheese was good and the chicken salad looked amazing, (note to self... try that chicken salad next time). The counter person was friendly and efficient. I got an everything and a cinnamon raisin bagel to take home for breakfast the next day. They both were large and dense, I ended up having to scoop it alot. The outside of the everything had a odd smell and taste to it. I scraped some of it off and it was fine. Next time I think I will try the plain to compare it. The cinnamon raisin was pretty good. Decided to stop here after walking through the African street festival in Fort Greene. The sun was shining and they had outdoor seating with large umbrellas to enjoy my mid afternoon sandwich. Service was friendly and efficient. The cashier was informative and put up with my two changes I made for my tuna melt on an everything bagel. I was a little bummed that I asked for sliced white onion on my sandwich and when I opened it, there was no onion , maybe it didn't need it because the sandwich was pretty good. First time at this location--as I frequent their Court Street and 7th Avenue locations, I know that they are expensive, actually, not just expensive, but overpriced; however, since my original place I intended to go was close, my family and I had breakfast here. Three cream cheese bagels (mine with Scallion cream cheese) medium berry smoothie, can of seltzer and a Tropicana Orange Juice shouldn't cost $24! I'm a fan of their bagels, but this location had a lot of disorganization with how they take the orders. It was a bunch of people waiting and nobody knew who ordered from who didn't. Very solid bagel sandwich that came quickly. The bagel was soft, well schmeared with tofu cream cheese, and a good ratio of fillings. I got a whole wheat everything with tofu cream cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion. I wish they had tofu scallion but I'm glad they have at least a few vegan/plant-based options to start. Came here as my first NY bagel experience so take this review a bit on the lighter side. It's located down the street so just wanted to grab a quick bite one morning and stopped by here. The place is an "upscale" deli shop that offers sandwiches, deli meats, salads, coffee etc. food came out quick and I was out in a few minutes. The bagels itself was decent, I got an egg everything. It was a bit heavy on the dough side for my personal liking and not toasted enough so it was texturely not my favorite. The toppings were very flavorful and I liked the jalapeño cream cheese - had a subtle kick and was refreshing in a vegetable way. It was heavy on the lox and was super fresh which I did appreciate. Ate half for an early breakfast and it was just enough. I'll probably come back and try some other combinations. Curious to see how it fares against other spots in the city. read more

the bagels themselves are fine, a solid 3. they aren't anything special. the texture is a bit harder, tougher and drier than the *popular* cult favorites (mine's best bagel in midtown east, iykyk) however the flavor of the bagels are actually pretty good. it's unfortunate this area doesn't have amazing bagel options - i live between this spot and the new black seed, on schermerhorn and now that i've tried both, i'd rather here than black seed (i find black seed to be severely overpriced for medicore bagels). unlike the other bagel shops i've been to in the city , la bagel delight provides a considerably less layer of cream cheese. i don't LOVE a slab of cream cheese but i'd still love the option to scrap the excess off vs wishing for more, you feel me? idk maybe its the economy lol. the line/order/wait system they have in place here is a mess. the wait area is an obscure, crowded area - several people around us were like, "where do we go?" - and it's hard to hear. i'll be back mostly out of convenience of location if i'm craving a bagel but if i have the time to go a little further than a 4 block radius of my apt, i'd go to court st bagels, smith st bagels or bergen bagels. read more

My neighborhood lunchtime staple. What would I do without you La Bagel Delight? Awesome bagels, and skinny bagel options (for those kinds of people), and lots of cream cheese options. They have a great sandwich menu - I personally LOVE the Bourbon Street - which is spicy turkey, mozz, jalapenos, and grilled onions. Also the chicken fajita pannini is a delicious deal and comes with a bag of chips and a can of soda for something stupid, like $6 total! They also have HUGE-O ice coffee cups if you ask for it. Sometimes you just need a ginormous ice coffee. They've got a case juices and drinks, and all sorts of goodies. Tons of chips. I love this place. VERY friendly people behind the counter too - props to them! I've also ordered catering from them for an event at my theatre, and they delivered it, it was beautiful, delicious, LOCAL, and worth the price. They also have a new rewards type system called Belly, just scan your card and earn free stuff. read more

I stopped in for lunch and had a plain bagel toasted with cream cheese and lox. My bagel was 'warmed' but not toasted. When I went to pick it up the woman told me it was a salt bagel and I told her I had ordered plain. Then she insisted I had ordered salt. Next to me a woman was so angry because she had waited over 15 min for her bagel and the person working there just kept yelling back at her that it was almost done. How was the food? Not good. My bagel was all bagel. Very little cream cheese and almost zero lox. Service? Worse. I don't recommend coming here. This place makes me miss H&H bagels. read more

I could eat here everyday. The food is very delicious and the service is wonderful. The bagels themselves have a delightful crust and are stellar. Here are my favorites: a pumpernickel bagel with vegetable cream cheese, whole wheat everything with egg and cheese, and an everything bagel with lox and the works.
