We've been here a few times and the food is always excellent. You get a lot for what you pay for, service is great, and the blueberry bagels are the best bagels I've ever had!

This sandwich was 4.95 but had EVERYTHING on it. Meat cooked perfectly.

From the servers lack of knowledge of anything on the menu to the cold food we waited 45 minutes for, this place ranked "the worst place ever" to have a meal at. Even the drinks fell short with lack of flavor and ingredients. The tables are low and the chairs are comfortable, but not the greatest to eat from. Great for drinks and maybe finger food? When the food came we changed seats to a table, which they have a few of. From the moment they served our food cold I could no longer hold my tongue. I asked to speak with the manager and began to tell her my concerns. Her response was unbelievable. "this is my third day here", we don't have a Chef today and all of the staff are new". I said why open then. I really need to preface that. There were four people dining. We all had burgers and fries. One of us had a veggie burger. If you can't serve burgers, hot and fries hot that's a real low bar that you can't seem to get under. I really hope the Owner reads this review and straightens out what's gone wrong here. They removed three burgers from the order as one of our friends was so hungry. He decided to eat his burnt on both sides, veggie burger and he showed this to the manager and she didn't even make a suggestion like let me just take it all off the bill. My wife is not a person that would send stuff back however I am and the couple we were with the wife is the person who would send things back and the husband's more of a I won't come back here kind of guy. Both me and my friends wife post reviews, me in yelp and her on google. Look for her review. This was a truly disappointing experience. we wound up going right down the block to a place that we always dine at and had great burgers and some fish n chips. PS I took the menu pictures before all of this took place and I'm gonna post them anyway.

But the more we looked into the menu, the more excited we became. I would say their specialty is burgers and sandwiches. Virtually every ingredient is made from scratch daily (except the sourdough bread, from a local farm), including impressive items like multiple types of burger patty and cheesy cashew sauce. We were so excited about their food that we went three days in a row! Day 1: The Fogwood smoky burger was outstanding. The BLT was also delicious; we loved the smoke salted tofu. For a lighter option, we got the sunshine curry quinoa chickpea bowl. It was healthy and nutritious, although I felt the flavor profile was a bit off; it was heavy on the curry powder and weirdly sweet. The side of mac and cheese was GREAT. We loved the sauce made from sweet potatoes, carrots, and cashews (I think it was oil-free). Not heavy or creamy, just flavorful and good! For dessert, we got the lavender almond cupcake which we LOVED. It was gluten-free, although you wouldn't guess it. It had a perfect fluffy texture and great nuanced flavor. We loved that it wasn't made with coconut oil (just olive oil). Truly special. The vast majority of their desserts (as well as their homemade cheeses) do contain coconut oil. Day 2: The patty melt sandwich was a big hit. Incredible flavor. The Levi Reuben served over greens (instead of on bread) was also delicious. We loved the fennel sage patty and the homemade sauerkraut. We got the kids' PB&J as a snack which was SO good with homemade peanut butter and homemade raspberry jam. Very impressive. Lastly, we couldn't resist getting the signature Snickers-inspired bar, which was so good it should be illegal. Day 3: We were excited to try their daily special, the teriyaki chili rice bowl, made with homemade ginger tofu patties. It was delicious, although it could have used some greens. We tried two more of their burgers to explore the menu further, the flirty burger and the teriyaki burger, and both were great. A devastating disappointment came when, even though we walked in within 10 minutes of their opening, they had already sold out of the special dessert advertised on their Instagram, the carrot spice cupcake with pecan glaze, the only dessert they had that was coconut-free. It seems like they inexplicably only make 4-6 cupcakes per day and then don't make more even if they sell out?! (Who does that??) Overall, we loved the food and are so glad they exist. Major props for making so many things from scratch. We really appreciated how nothing was fried or greasy, really hard to find these days. They also deserve special mention for having top-notch service. All the employees were so kind and accommodating, and every dish came out quickly and made to perfection. The vibe of the restaurant is really peaceful and would be an equally good spot to have a quick meal or to linger all day.

One of us had been here before with the Pop-Pop, but this time we went as a family for dinner. The main area inside is cute and homey, and the bar is especially nice, but we were seated in the adjacent section which felt like an IHOP. Our server was very nice and patient, and we did appreciate that there were decent beers on draft as well as some cocktails. We started with the appetizer sampler, and it was...fried food galore. The chicken wings were beyond rubbery, but the onion rings were OK, as were the mozzarella sticks. The whole thing was a plate of grease. For mains, one of us got the teriyaki chicken wrap, and she was pleasantly surprised. It was pretty delish! Nice flavor, good balance of ingredients and texture, and somewhat fresh tasting. The chicken parm sandwich, though, was a hot mess, and not in a good way. The bread became pure mush, the chicken tasted off, and the sauce was unappetizing. A real bummer of a meal. Our daughter had a shrimp basket that we didn't even want to ask about. We all split a lava cake for dessert that lacked any soul. Overall, the Erie Hotel is on par with literally everything else in a 30-mile radius that we have experienced in this corner of America: average food that's not particularly first-rate. Three accurate stars.
