This method was a tad disorganized and you could tell the 2 gals working were either a bit overwhelmed or unsure who was coming or going. I suggest giving your guests a number on a little stand for their table after ordering. That'll keep you from hollering out their name and walking around the establishment trying to find them. I enjoy this place because it's local. Is it the best coffee? No. Does it have differentiating food? No. But, it's welcoming, friendly, and they have a variety of food and beverage to satisfy tastebuds - plus it's close. Petoskey peppermint, corner social, and s'more lattes are up there in top flavors. Sometimes the coffees have an artificial cherry flavor and I can't figure out why aside from cross contamination of flavored beans and/or syrups. The ice cream + espresso drinks are really good if you're in the mood for something more filling. What would be really nice is if they added more unique pastries to the offering rather than bulk food options (large muffins, pound cake slices, etc). What a gem in downtown South Lyon! This is a cafe + bar + ice cream shop all in one. Me and my friends came on a Sunday evening for drinks and it was busy. They had so much to choose from including boozy milkshakes and coffee drinks. FYI: you can drinks to-go. I ordered a spring special Lychee martini and my friends ordered a spring special Strawberry cocktail and the Berry Social. All the drinks were incredibly tasty -- definitely on the sweeter side but that's exactly what I like. I also tried the Hammi sandwich. Simple but delicious. Plenty of seating inside. A friend and I had dinner here tonight. I'm only doing patio dining currently, and they have a really nice outdoor area; she lives in South Lyon and had recommended it. I had the pulled pork sandwich, which comes on Zingerman's bread - it's $9 but is huge. It does not come with any sides, but I wasn't super hungry. My friend had the grilled cheese sandwich (with like 3 cheeses! yum) on their gluten-free bread. We both ended up getting dessert - she had a shake, and I had vegan black cherry ice cream, which was DELICIOUS. Both were Guernsey ice cream, and I guess the vegan ice cream is made with oat milk; I could barely tell it was non-dairy. A single scoop was $4 before tax but the portion I got was very large. The pulled pork sandwich was just okay (probably because I got it sans cheese) but this place gets 4 stars from me for the atmosphere, and also its COVID preparations: there were only two other people on the patio besides us, and when they left, the staff wiped down the table promptly. We came inside to order the ice cream and when we got back our table had been cleared too. Everything seemed really clean inside including the bathroom, as well. I was searching for a new restaurant after golf with the wife and read a little about Corner Social so we gave it a try. Nice little patio in the heart of South Lyon. I also read about the history from a coffee shop to fill a niche for cocktails and small plates. Perfect, except the only time small plates are served are during special events. Otherwise it's a unique sandwich menu and a few apps. Just not what we were looking for at the time. I will try them again if the occasion should arise. Service was a little slow and not attentive for the 15. min we sat at the high-top. We did end up leaving. read more

Great little corner coffee bar in South Lyon. Had a good breakfast sandwich and the lightest roast coffees available, which was a flavored hazelnut. I don't know. I think if you're going to make coffee & coffee drinks you should learn how to roast your own. Didn't taste any better or different from what I make at home. Menu is limited. Maybe the focus is on alcohol? I didn't take any pics mostly because nothing inspired me. The people were nice & my friend who joined me was awesome. The food was delicious! If you love Grilled Cheese they have one of the best sandwiches here. It was gooey cheesy, (YUM) the bread was perfectly cooked too. The tomato soup was also amazing! My Mom got a ham sandwich which she enjoyed also. The only thing that would make this better is if they put a cup of soup as a option on the menu with the sandwich's. If you like soup and sandwich together it is two separate orders which get a bit pricey. I know we are going to get the soup and split the sandwich next time. The restaurant was very nice. I also got a Trifecta, which is a grilled cheese sandwich. This was really good. Very rich and crispy. The service was excellent. The baristas and other staff were really friendly and helpful. We went on Sunday afternoon and it was busy and noisy but not too bad. The patio is nice. They have a ton of flower beds and hanging plants, very pretty. The inside is pretty cozy looking. Accessibility is a problem, as is usual for places in old buildings. The doorways are not wheelchair accessible, although the one stair is marked with yellow paint. I didn't see it, but my companion said the women's restroom has unmarked steps but also had a wheelchair ramp. Took a star off for the lack of accessibility. My dad and I were passing by after mass on our way to Java Hut to get a coffee and saw their sign. Coffee, Sammies and Spirits sounded pretty hospitable for a late lunch. I pulled around the block and parked in their lot. On Sunday at 130 there were a fair number of people inside but their bar seating was open so we ordered a couple coffees and explored the rest of their menu offerings. My dad ordered a pesto, white cheddar, spinach and egg sammy, on a croissant. It came out of the kitchen lightning fast with legit panini marks on it. It looked delicious! My dad gave it high-praise. While we sat there I couldn't help but notice one of the most comprehensive and formidable Bourbon selections I can recall seeing staggered across a wall, especially one shelved at a coffee and sammy shoppe. I ordered one of their seasonal Old Fashioned's made with maple syrup and a Walnut bitters and mixed by our host, Zoe. I'd give the drink she made high-praise, and the service all along the way the same! She told us about a dinner-club they run monthly that's an ever-changing theme...right up my alley. I have to admit that, I'm totally intrigued by this place, pleasantly surprised that it was so wonderful, and yet even more surprised that it flew under my radar for so long. I liked this place so much that I brought friends back a mere two hours later when we ordered a jumbo soft pretzel that was literally bigger than my head and came with a bowl of yellow mustard and a bowl of beer cheese to dip it in. We got ham sandwich which was good and the only vegetarian option for food was the avocado toast. I told them to leave the egg off. If you order the avocado toast just beware that the egg is like a frozen premade egg that is jsut defrosted and the avocado is not a real avocado it's the spread kind that comes in a big container and it's not very good. Disappointing for $10 to not get real avocado (or egg). Bread was not very good just a single piece of hard toast. Had everything seasoning on it too and was too salty. The cheese danish was food. The very chocolate brownie was actually bad, like not chewy, not very chocolate definitely disappointing, how can a brownie not be good oh well. Almond croissant was okay, dry on the outside. Just popping on here to say that the ladies working behind the register (which is anywhere between 1-3 women) take the order, make the coffee drinks, make the cocktail drinks, cook the food, and serve the food all on top of cleaning, preparing DoorDash orders, and stocking. It's understandable that it might take a few minutes for your food/drinks. The food, especially the Avokato Smash, is good, although I'd love to see more vegetables on the menu. read more

Such a nice place to study. Ambiance is very relaxed and this cafe has a lot to offer. I loved the calm classical music playing in the background. Parking is easy to find in downtown south lyon. I love this place. Great drinks, food and service. I will give it 4 stars because often the noise level is uncomfortable. It looks like a quiet place for adults to have coffee or a mixed drink. The last time I was there a mom with two kids were there, she was drinking wine and her hyperactive son ran up and down the aisle over and over. A couple of workers were yukking it up in the kitchen and they were loud too. I don't expect complete quiet but the kid was out of control and nobody addressed it. For me, coffee shops live and die by how inviting and aesthetically pleasing they are. I go to a coffee shop less for coffee and more for a place to relax and read for a few hours. Therefore, I like a lot of windows that overlook neat downtown areas. That makes Corner perfect. It has large windows with a great view of down town and right across from the farmer's market. The interior doesn't look like the trendy industrial gentrified flat lool that's so prevalent among coffee shops nowadays. There's real cracks in the walls, original exposed bricks, and beautifully scratchsd hardwood floors. It's a great place to relax. Try one of the love seats or the couch by the door. The coffee is good. I usually get the French (dark) roast, which is fresh and bold. Their sandwiches are great (highly recommend the honeymooner if you like turkey). They also serve Guernsey ice cream and can make lattes with the ice cream. read more

One of our favorite spots in south Lyon! They have plentiful pastries, bake goods, and sandwhich options to keep us full as we sip coffee and work on our laptops. We are admittedly coffee snobs and always always prefer to go local. This spot has good espresso and wonderful service. We enjoy their banana bread and have tried various breakfast sandwiches. They do have a great assortment of ice cream but that's less socially acceptable at 9/10am when we usually visit. Glad that SL has spots like this! read more
