The drinks were "fine", but not up to the standard I've come to know and love from BB. Perhaps an off night, perhaps we should have sat in the booth by the bar (welp)!? I'm a sucker for themed restaurants and Bahama Breeze does not disappoint! My husband had mentioned coming here so I agreed, we've visited two more times since! There's tons of parking but it's really the decor that shines. It sounds SO weird to say that coming here makes me feel relaxed, like I'm on vacation. The front door has a pickup/drop off spot that gives valet at a resort vibe. The interior is breezy and decorated like an island resort. The tall ceilings and open concept plan is inviting. They were extremely busy the prior night (seating was a 5 hour wait time) so we went on a Saturday evening and wait time was an hour and 30 mins. They seated us with a server who did not want to serve us because she was ready to go but she did serve us after a little back and forth with the waiter. However because of that we ordered an appetizer and our food. We received our food and drinks first. The food was flavorful and the atmosphere was really nice, kind of cold if I may add. I did curbside and my side that came with the ribs was missing and I also ordered another side which was rice and beans and the rice was hard from sitting or uncooked. The ribs were very tough so that lead me to believe there weren't done. I threw the whole meal away and went to Applebees and that was excellent. This was my first time being there during happy hour. I was intrigued by their special of half off all appetizers during happy hour, so I ordered a few appetizers to try them out along with some Jerk Chicken Wings. Our food came out within a decent timeframe; however, my mother's order was missing. The server apparently did not write down my mom's order so she had to wait a while for her food while everyone had their food and had began to eat. The food was tasty, and the portions were okay. The crab and cheese dip was flavorful, and you can actually taste the crab meat. The yuca cheese sticks were crispy and enjoyable; I enjoyed the buffalo type sauce with it better than the ranch type sauce. The jerk wings were also pretty good. Not as I expected but they were still good; I was not a fan of the sauce that came with the jerk wings as it was a little powdery tasting to me. Bahama breeze is a staple in Raleigh. I've been going for years. My most recent visit was a 10/ 10. We met for a quick girls night with drinks and appetizers. We ordered the ultimate pineapple, and really didn't care for it however, the manager Mathew was very helpful and accommodating and switched our drinks and the second drink the cloud nine was much better. Had not been here in over 20 years but met some coworkers for drinks and happy hour appetizers last week. We sat out on the spacious deck and pretended we were actually in the islands. They have an extensive cocktail menu and I couldn't decide so I ordered the cocktail flight -- a Bahama mama, one love and painkiller. I went to Bahama Breeze after a long day of driving and work meetings. It was close to our hotel, and honestly, we were just exhausted and ready to get some rest. Upon entering, the restaurant certainly has a Caribbean feel. We were seated in a booth, and the seat was worn completely down. All the vinyl was just peeling off. Moreover, I'm almost 5'6, and the seat was so high that my feet didn't touch the ground - which is uncomfortable. The restaurant has lots of hard surfaces, so even on a Monday night, it was really loud. As for the food and drinks - I strongly suggest the Ultimate Margarita. It was wonderful. The coconut shrimp were excellent as well. There wasn't much fish on the fish tacos, and they were really bland. The rice and beans were fantastic. Our server was good. Service here is usually good, but as with any restaurant you'll have some not so great times. With that being said, I've never had a terrible experience here as far as service is concerned. The drinks are AMAZING! I've never had a bad drink here. They are flavorful and strong, but in a good way. You literally can't go wrong! So here it was, time for the bi-weekly dinner with my mom & we wanted to break out of our rut of the 'usual' places we end up at for dinner. Many moons ago when we were still living in PA, we used to go to Bahama Breeze but as time went on & we all went our separate ways, we hadn't revisited this restaurant in a while. This struck us a little odd because the place was just about empty. There were a lot of open seats. We were told that we'd have to wait before they could seat us so we decided to go to the bar & get the evening started. The bar area was VERY busy yet the bar staff were so very friendly. In fact, EVERYONE at the bar was very friendly. I started chatting with some lovely ladies who told me they were regulars. Our drinks came & man....so yummy! Finally, they were ready to seat us in an empty part of the restaurant. It didn't stay empty for very long! I was a little confused at the seating issue because at each table, they have those computers where you could order your meal or drinks so they didn't really need to wait for wait staff. The only area that they'd need extra staff would be for the lovely patio area (can't wait till it cools off a little to enjoy this space!!). Our server was simply adorable. She was seriously friendly and very bubbly. Again, I am AWFUL with names which is a shame because she really deserves props here. We put in our order and received a few surprises. My mom ordered a small glass of wine (they give you options of 6oz or 12 oz) and what arrived was a VERY generous pour much larger than the expected 6oz. Bonus! Next surprise was in my order. I ordered the blackened mahi mahi tacos but only wanted 2 because the drink I ordered was very filling. When my meal arrived, they gave me 3 tacos. When we checked our bill however, we found that we were billed for the 6oz of wine & the 2 tacos. The meal itself was simply fantastic. In all the years I've eaten at this place, I can't recall a single bad one. I'm sure that the current situation is due to Covid and the Great Resignation that has been going on.
