Looking for a place with sweet, tender, flavorful, and tasty seafood? This is the place to go! Each seafood that we got was perfectly cooked, tender, flakey, and juicy. The seasoning was spot on with the spicy boil! It definitely not a first date kind of place lol but if you're okay with being messy with great food, this would be it. The potatoes and corn was perfectly cooked too. Soft but tender, and it absorbed all the seasonings. Highly recommend!

The theme of this review could very well be "don't judge a book by its cover." This restaurant is located in a shopping center that isn't the most appealing to the eye, but the crabs are delicious. The interior is very modestly furnished and the walls are adorned with customers' signatures and handwritten messages. Went here with a friend and both my daughter and I who absolutely love crabs enjoyed our orders - the 1 lb. of crab legs with medium Cajun/original seasoning. Very yummy. The spiciness was just right. Customer service was great too. My friend also enjoyed her 1/2 lb crab legs, mussels and shrimp with mild Cajun seasoning. We will definitely be dining there again. If the location and interior were a bit nicer, this crab lover and former Marylander would give this restaurant a perfect score.

I was in the mood for a boil, and came across this place as be the closest in my area. Came on a Wednesday afternoon not long after they open, around 2:30pm. A few ppl were already seated dining in. I was greeted and seated as soon as I walked in. I decided to the try the "Liquid Marijuana" cocktail. Very sweet&fruity, but I like sweet drink. It kinda gave kool-aid. I ordered a basic snow crab leg boil; all boils come with 1corn and potato. My food was out in less than than 10mins after ordering. I went with garlic butter/cajun seasoning, mild spice. It was delicious!! I'd definitely be again

Excellent seafood boil in the Capital ! Love the customer service, quality and quantity of the seafood. While my bestie was in town I wanted to take her out for her favorite food seafood! The Yelp and Google reviews measured up here ! Love that they closed at 10:00 on Labor Day. Ny was our waitress and she was excellent. I ordered a sweet tea and the Shrimp with no head & Crab Legs combo with Medium Garlic boil sauce. The boil was extremely flavorful and packed a punch for the Medium heat. I felt like we were digging into a never ending boil bag. We couldn't stop eating. This is a great place to come and enjoy some boil. The ambiance is cool and you can write on the restaurant walls. The worst part of my night was being sooo full and forgetting my doggy bag with the rest of my food in it :(

9/19/21: We ordered online & picked up via carry out. They had a little window to the left of the entrance door to pick up to go orders. The service was ok. Not the friendliest though. But the food we ordered was delicious & not. I got fried shrimp, corn, and hush puppies. The shrimp was yummy but a little overcooked. I made it work though. I will definitely go back.

The location is inside of a shopping center and the inside is spacious and well taken care of. When we first got there at 6:00 it was only two other tables. But the time we left the place was packed. The full bar is new, and you can tell they are still figuring things out. We told them the drinks were very weak so we paid for extra shots in all of them. The food came out fairly quick and was very tasty. The seasonings were great. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is because they were well understaffed. There were only two servers. Kenya was our server and she was amazing. She handled the crowd very well and had a smile the entire time. My family will be back, I am from out of state but everyone liked it.

Not sure how long this establishment has been servicing customers but upon arrival I noticed a lot of dust on the wood ledge. We had reservations but the restaurant wasn't full and this was about 830ish. After being seated we waiting 30mins or more for service. Now the waitress did say twice I'll be with you in a moment. We finally provided our order and the food came out rather quickly others than the fried food-that took a bit longer. The service wasn't great, the sauce just wasn't the best & price I suppose was average for this type of establishment. I don't live in the area so I know I will not be returning for another visit..

The fresh seafood selection is huge - all local and regional, plus some Louisiana gems! I chose to eat fresh fried seafood, similar to what we call a "seafood platter". Today, 6/4/2025, I got a platter of 3 pieces of FRESH flounder, 6 or 8 oysters, about 1/3 pound of small shrimp, fried okra, boiled potatoes, hush puppies, and a refillable fountain drink... all fried to perfection! FOR $20, including tax!!!! This fry is perfect "American style". I did need hot sauce because we astoundingly season everything in Louisiana. Staff and customers were super friendly, especially, the sweet lady who moved to Raleigh from New Orleans. (She knew my name was "Baby"... LOL!!!) The family that owns this place and their employees are super nice. I ate my lunch with two of the fish guys. I'd eat here every day if I lived in Raleigh!

We sat outside this day, as the weather was mild and there wasn't any available seats inside. We ordered a fried combo and a grilled combo. TrySeafood does a lot of things right. Portion size was fairly generous. We especially love the fact they serve cleaned jumbo shrimp. Food was cooked well, shrimp was tender as was scallops. The broccoli was not tender crisp nor mushy. The potatoes and corn were delicious. While service was friendly, it was a bit slow. Also, I'm not an Old Bay fan. The grilled shrimp were seasoned with Old Bay. While the fish was crispy, I prefer a cornmeal dredge to a flour dredge. Finally, (and this could have been a me thing) the tip percentage on the screen doesn't align with the math. I intended to tip 15% - which is standard especially considering slow service. That should have been approx $8 and when I got home I realized it was approximately $16. You're not given a printed receipt and if you're in a rush and going through the process quickly it's easy to miss. Again I may have missed something, but I'm pretty sure I selected the %15 option. Additionally, I've seen other restaurants that have intentionally include this practice. Would I go again, sure. I'd request a different seasoning blend or a light seasoning and check that math! Well worth the money! Lunch was Fish 'n Chips for me; super good crispy fried white fish, not greasy at all, which is the sure fire way to ruin any fried meal. The fries are really good, too, almost McDonaldy. Comes with tartar, ketchup, malt vinegar (asked for), and a really good garlic aioli. Hubs had Shrimp Risotto, which was blackened shrimp over really creamy risotto with red peppers, scallion, and tomato. Delicious. Also couldn't decide who got the better lunch. Our lunch specials were less than $15 each, a bargain today, and we each took half home. Hubs also had a beer, and I had the house Cabernet, which was really smooth. Really glad we found this newer place; fingers crossed it doesn't go the way of so many downhill the longer they're here.
