Me and my boyfriend ordered appetizers during happy hour (yes, I loveee a great deal)- especially on food . We ordered the Firecracker shrimp and Habanero wings. For my entree I ordered the Tequila Sunburn glazed salmon. It was topped with pineapple-mango salsa. My sides were cinnamon mashed potatoes and broccoli . He ordered the Mahi Mahi seafood tacos!! Pros: Wonderful food and great for large crowds. On weekends, there is a live band that plays on the outside section of the restaurant. They have two large bars full of different alcohol selections. The restaurant was fully staffed. The waitress/ waiters were friendly. Apparently, the restaurant introduced a new drink, which was literally the size of a basketball and was for two people. We opted to get to get that and the drink was amazing. Cons: Can be hard to find parking on Friday and Saturday nights. If you have a large party ex: more than 2, you should make reservations. If you don't you will end up waiting 30-45 minutes to be seated. The drinks can take a very long time to come. I waited roughly 35 minutes before my drink was served. read more

I was in town for Dreamville fest and stopped by this restaurant because I saw online they had "happy hour" and I wanted to try their empanadas. The service was okay, and the drinks were pretty good. I can't speak on how good the food is because I literally only had empanadas and mozzarella sticks. I was excited for the empanadas until I tasted them ...they tasted sweet. They weren't bad, just not for my taste buds. The cheese sticks were good (can't really mess those up). Happy hour was misleading because it was half off appetizers, no drink specials which kind of bummed me out. There were a lot of people in the restaurant so it seemed like a popular place. Decent food and pretty inside, but terrible service and seemed to be improperly staffed. Went on a Saturday at 5:30pm. We waited 1 hour for our food, one person's food never came, but our server didn't check on us. Finally the last person's food came after asking for it and it was missing a side. My Piña Colada was excellent! My Lobster and Shrimp Linguine was quite tasty. It had lots of chunks of lobster and nice size shrimp. The cream sauce was perfect and I loved the mushrooms that they added to it. The restaurant itself was very uplifting and tropical. Wasn't very busy for a Thursday evening. Our server was nice but it was that "extra fake" nice, which I did not exactly care for. For example... when I said, "Oh, thank you" for giving me my drink, he said " that's what I do!" First time visiting last night and it was nice. I ordered the jerk chicken bowl and the frozen bahamarita and then later on I ordered the tostones with chicken after trying one of my friends hahaha. Everything was really good. The jerk chicken could have been a tad less sweet and spicier, not the jerk flavor that I'm used to but still good. Our waitress was also super friendly, I didn't catch her name. Drinks were fairly priced, not expensive so that's always nice. I loved the frozen bahamarita and I'd recommend it to those who like their drinks sweet and don't like to taste the alcohol in itself. read more

Stopped by after work for happy hour plates. Showed up on a rainy day, as soon as you walk in your mood changes. I love the decor and ambiance. Lots of pop of colors, makes you feel like you are on vacation in the Caribbean. we sat in the back, there is a fire pit, live music area and lots of smiling faces. Great area for a group gathering. Wow what a cool setting. The menu is impressive and full of flavorful menu options. The Caribbean menu and ambience is worth the trip. Perfect for any age group. Lots of seating in different parts of the restaurant. I absolutely loved the crispy juicy and flavor town jerk wings. Spicy and sweet chicken sandwich was also perfect. I loved my cocktail the Pain Killer, it was so fresh and sweet with pineapple flavor. Our waitress was also great. She was on point with refills and timing. I want to give this restaurant 5 stars BUT the cleanliness will not allow it. I have a pet peeve for dirty menus. I do not want to know how many people have sat in a booth before me. I ab-so-lutely LOVE this place. I've been here only a handful of times for special occasions, but i was in the city visiting and we decided to stop here on our way home. We were seated quickly, the staff were amazing and the atmosphere was TOP TIER. I had the Jerk Chicken and Shrimp Pasta while my dinner date had the Chicken Pineapple Bowl. Y'all , it was BUSSSSSSSINNNNNN. Delicious flavors all the way from the Mystery Margarita to the Bahamarita. These drinks are HIGHLY recommended. The atmosphere and decor are pleasant. The facilities are clean and well maintained. They offer non-alcoholic beverages for those of us that don't drink but they have an extensive alcoholic beverage menu for those that do. We ordered a virgin ultimate pineapple which is pictured. The drink tastes like it is artificial flavor but still was good. The spinach dip appetizer was well prepared and the artichoke was crushed better than most other restaurants. The Caribbean Salad and the Ropa Veija Tostones (new item so I may have the wrong name) were tasty and not over prepared. The vibe here really does give off a tropical-island feel, complete with a wonderful selection of frozen drinks that will take the edge off of a hot Summer day, and it's nice to sip them while looking at real palm trees in Raleigh, which is an anomaly for sure. Quick update to say this place is still consistently very good! The habanero wings remain some of my favorite wings ever! If you like lots of spicy sauce on your wings, these are for you! And there are so many of them that I get days of finger-licking bone-sucking greatness. The once-called "breeze" salad, is now just called "house" salad. Different name, same good fresh salad with a light tasty vinaigrette. Husband was happy to report their burger is just as good as always, with a nice grilled flavor. Service still good also. This place remains solid as a rock for quality food, good service and fair prices. TIP: Get on their email/mailing lists. They will snail mail and email $10 off coupons. read more

Today was just a normal ordinary lunch at Bahama Breeze. There was no wait time to be seated. The waiter was very nice, and made recommendations on what to eat. I ordered a Cuban Sandwich with a fresh fruit salad. The speed of service was excellent. The food was delivered in about 5 minutes after I ordered it. The waiter checked back several times as I dined to make sure everything was alright. Now let's take a look at the food shall we. The Cuban Sandwich was a generous size portion. The salami and ham had a nice flavor. Since I mention flavor, a person would expect that each bite taste the same from the first bite, all the way to the last bite. That was not true with this sandwich. I opened up the sandwich to see how it was made, and the meat was not spread equally throughout. It is supposed to have roast pork, ham, and salami. I only tasted the roast pork on half of the sandwich, and it was not spread even, so that half did not even taste the same. The flavor changed as I made the way from one side of the sandwich to the other side. The tomatoes that were on the sandwich were not fresh. One of the tomatoes was very mushy, while the other was not as mushy. The best part of the meal was the fresh fruit salad. The flavor was truly exceptional in my opinion. The salad was composed of pineapple chunks, red seedless grapes, and diced strawberries all topped with mango sorbet. All of the fruit was firm, with a nice bite to it. The mango sorbet that topped it all was the pièce de résistance in my mind. (Yes, I did have to Google on how to spell that correctly, I ain't french.) The decor of the restaurant was nice. The bathrooms are nicely decorated, and they even supply mouthwash and hand lotion in the bathroom. Hmm. Overall, it was a decent trip. They get 4-yelps up for the service, the fruit salad, and decor. They lost the 5th one because the sandwich was poorly made. After all, it is just a sandwich, not brain surgery, and even a 5 year old can make a sandwich. read more

Our waitress was excellent and made the meal so pleasant. The lobster and shrimp linguini had only a few bits of lobster but a nice amount of shrimp, with an excellent sauce. I spent over $200 on one check for five of us with a 20% tip over two hours for a birthday dinner which we did tell the waitress about. I watched the manager go through our section of the restaurant three times over the course of the two hours and he spoke to literally every table in the place except ours, asking them how their meal or appetizers were. This surprised me that he skipped us, and it made us feel unwelcome, as it was such an obvious omission. His inquiry at one of the other tables was so close we could hear the conversation, so there's no way he didn't see us, and it was obvious what he was doing. We were in the middle of the room under lights. The only differences between our party and the other patrons was the size of our check, based on the number of people at the other tables and the amount of food on their plates, and our ethnicity. To be ignored in such an obvious way overshadowed the festive mood we had going; I kept waiting for him to include us in his hospitality tour, but after his last trip around the room excluded us, he went over and sat on the corner sofa by the door. He had time to include us if he'd chosen to do so. Regardless of his reasons for excluding us in his walkabout, I wanted to make this point so management can be more polite and inclusive in the future. Rude hostesses, super slow service at bar. It was pretty busy for a lunch at 115. Took 10 minutes to get iced tea, another 10 minutes to get back for my order. The bar stools are super uncomfortable, there's no place for your feet, if you are normal sized. You have to hang them off and let your legs go to sleep. Ordered shrimp Caesar, which came in literally 90 seconds. Shrimp was obviously mass pre-cooked (over), de-shelled and curly. Tasted ok. Guess it's a better place to drink then eat. Happy hour at Bahama Breeze was so much fun with my coworkers. They were accommodating for such a large party (although wouldn't let us make a reservation). I had a refill of the Ultimate Pineapple which was a nice cooling drink on a hot day. Clever way to use the pineapple shell, but I wish there had been a little more pineapple in the drink itself. It included maybe 1 or 2 pieces on the umbrella toothpick. The appetizers were half priced on Friday for happy hour, so we ordered a bunch to taste. My favorite was probably the coconut shrimp, however those disappeared fast among my coworkers. Apparently this Bahama Breeze has also been long established in this same spot off of Wake Forest Rd. I am not a big fan of Bahama Breeze but my friend was hosting her birthday celebration there so I went. The outside of the restaurant was really cool. Luckily I didn't have to wait for a seat I just walked straight to the back. I was bummed when I saw they were sitting outside because it was extremely hot! But I knew I was only staying for a short period of time. When I arrived I was greeted by the server who was really nice. She brought me water and asked if I wanted to order anything. I ended up ordering the lobster quesadilla which is what I always get. Because it was happy hour all of their drinks + appetizers were half off. It took forever for the quesadillas to come out. And the server was really nice and apologized. Because it took so long I had to get a Togo box and eat it in the car. One cool thing was that I got was some finger nail polish from the Bahama Breeze polish line. Overall, I only go to the restaurant when I am invited. It wouldn't be my first choice. I absolutely loved my jerk chicken pasta, the portion size I have pictured is light. However, it was still a nice amount of food. It was absolutely delirious. I will be going back. Loved the food!! Great jerk chicken meals with delicious sauces, nice presentation! Hated the accessibility issues: The "good, legal" wheelchair ramp dead ended at an emergency exit (alarm will sound). The only other ramp to the entrance door was illegally steep, and the threshold was not flush, so when the hostess held the door open (heavy, not automated) it was difficult to enter the restaurant. The handicap stall in the restroom was *DISGUSTING*!!! Inoperable flush led to buildup from several users in the toilet, seat liner holder hanging by one screw waiting to fall into the loaded toilet, filthy sink, no paper towels, broken door jamb swinging into room on entry. It was a good thing we had finished our meals before we discovered that situation bc it sure ruined our appetite for any dessert! read more

Nothing really to complain about here. Theres a nice island feel here. Seating is great, the overall design and art of this place is phenomenal. The food is amazing and the menu is not extensive which is good. Servers were quite nice. The price point here is solid. The bar areas are super cool to hang out by.
