If you can't go to the Caribbean for vacation, they'll bring the Caribbean to you. Such was the case with us, since at 9 months pregnant I can't fly anywhere, and it was our anniversary. This is a fun, unique spot. As it's name suggests, it's Caribbean themed from the decor to the food-they even have conch on the menu! It's both casual and a step up from your usual dining experience, and not full on cheesy like I was expecting. There were quite a few people there for a Monday night, and the service was insanely fast. Although they had iPads at the table for ordering, they were turned off , per the waitress because the restaurant was short staffed that night. Ordered the crab dip appetizer and the coconut shrimp tacos, and I had the virgin piña colada. The food overall was frankly so so, and the drinks very sugary which some people like and some people don't. I did like that the fruit cup side came with mango sorbet! My husband got the fish tacos which tasted slightly better than the coconut shrimp. To celebrate the occasion we also got a key lime pie as it seemed to be the dessert which was most on theme. We had made a reservation via open table and made a point to write that it was our anniversary when asked "special occasion"? I was a little reluctant to dine at a franchise Caribbean restaurant, boy was I wrong. What caught my attention was the Rasta Pasta or they have it listed as Jerk Chicken Pasta. It was so delicious. The Jerk chicken plate was pretty good too. We also ordered the firecracker shrimp were amazing! Also the inhouse beer Aruba Red was taste and refreshing. The food was hands down delicious except for the guacamole. The guacamole lacked flavor and freshness. We did a to go over and the guacamole was bland and turning colors, which is horrible. The rest of our order was good, like the fish tacos and the ropa vieja. The service for the curbside was not good. We placed the order online that gave me a time to show up and then I ended up waiting an extra 25 minutes on top of that so basically almost an hour for food. Does the service outweigh the food? This was a very good experience- especially for happy hour! My favorite appetizers are the shrimp quesadilla and chicken jerk wings. One of the reasons why I love this place is the drinks!!! Literally one of the only restaurants that can make a rum runner outside of a casino or the Bahamas. So that ALWAYS brings me back. I think this location does a great job in terms of hospitality as well. I have never had a "bad" waiter experience. Everyone is super friendly. So, the wife and I wanted to try something new for lunch and even though we've been here before and it's been hit or miss, we decided to give it another go. It was Saturday afternoon and even on a nice day, it wasn't that busy. The hostess greeted us and we were promptly seated. Our sever, while polite, was a tad overzealous but that's ok! I ordered their Coconut Shrimp Taco's with Fries...Three flour tortillas filled with crispy coconut shrimp, tomato salsa, Sriracha aioli and cabbage-jicama slaw. They were VERY GOOD and filled to the brim with yummy shrimps and toppings - with the perfect hint of spice! I was a happy camper with my meal. Just a couple things about this place that keep me from making it a 5-Star.. Prices are on the high side - Especially their apps (but if you subscribe to their eclub, you get a free app). Okay, my girlfriend and I went to Bahama Breeze after a Costco trip and we weren't expecting a ton. Neither of us had ever been, and we were planning on just grabbing a drink and heading home. However, what we found out is that they have an incredible happy hour! We didn't know what to expect, but the spinach dip? Really tasty. The firecracker shrimp? Nicely done. The conch fritters? Ooh baby. And my girlfriend's Ultimate Bahamarita and Ultimate Piña Colada were very good and packed a punch! $3 draft beers are hard to beat in northern NJ, too. One of my boyfriend and I's favorite restaurants. We always order the coconut shrimp, and the jerk chicken pasta. These 2 plates never disappoint!!! For drinks I highly recommend the dragon fruit margarita, mango mojito, or the bahama mama. So delicious. The atmosphere has great vibes, and the service is quick. On the weekends it's a good idea to make reservations because it does get stacked up, but even if you have to wait- it'll be worth it! The service was amazing ! We had Raquel as our server. It was our first time and she was very patient and explained the menu to us. We were seated almost immediately and making a reservation online was very simple and straight-forward. Drinks were served promptly and the food was hot and fresh! There was something on the menu for everyone ! I recommend the Breeze Cheese Bites which is a cheese-stuffed Yuca balls with a cilantro-limesauce. ( sorry I didn't take a picture, we finished them so fast I didn't get a chance haha) don't forget the frozen bahamarita & piña colada. They serve coquito here as well. My boyfriend got the signature burger with guava sauce and I got the Lobster Mac and cheese. Mmmmm it was delicious ! The fries came out a little late , but it was because they were changing the oil- even with this delay, Raquel gave us a whole plate of fresh, seasoned fries- not the half plate that the burger came with. I would have given a lower rating but the staff was quite excellent. There was never any vegetarian options. I usually would get the chipotle beef bowl. Minus the beef. (If that makes sense). They were always so accomdating. I would add asparagus and bam it would be vegetarian. Super good. ($10.99) I haven't been in a while so when I saw they added Jack Fruit tacos ($9.99 for 2 and $12 for 3) I was so excited finally a veggie options and I didn't have to change anything around! Well I was so so so disappointed. The jack fruit was just steamed or boiled. There was literally no flavor at all. It was just like a floppy piece of jack fruit. They didn't even try to season it at all. I literally was so sad about it. The fries it came with were pretty good though. The waiter got the manager to take off the tacos my mom and I ordered since we did not even touch them. On the bright side the frozen bahamarita ($7.99) was amazing as always. Came here in a large group and we know how hectic it gets with a big group but they were allllll very welcoming and accommodated for us. We wanted to celebrate 4 people's birthdays and so they gave us a mini private room, which was perfect because the normal dining area was quite loud. The drinks are a must because they have a huge variety but the exotic ones may be a little pricey. The food was amazing! Got the empanadas and they were A MUST GET! Very flavorful, not dry at all!! And then I got the jerk chicken pasta, which was also a good dish to get if you're unsure of what to get. Very creamy and light! I tried to coconut shrimp and it's definitely a great dish to get to share with others! I just want to say, we had Trish for our server (I believe that was her name), and she was SUPERB! Restaurant manager if you are reading this, PLEASE PLEASEEE provide her with recognition for doing an excellent job because she went above and beyond for us from the beginning until the very end. I love the outside patio at this restaurant! In this area of New Jersey, it is hard to find a restaurant that has any outdoor seating. Even though it looks over a parking lot, with views of Costco and Norstrom rack, I still think it has a lot to offer. I like their appetizers, although a lot of them are fried and heavy. We got the nachos with beef, And they were good. We also got the quesadilla. Not the best quesadilla I ever had - but overall not bad. We went on a Tuesday night and it was fairly busy. We waited 25 minutes or so for an outdoor seat. It was a gorgeous night we just want to sit outside! Overall a cute place, not bad at all for a chain! I recommend for apps and drinks. read more

Just had a great experience at Bahama breeze in Wayne. We had our dinner. My wife had the shrimp served in a pineapple was amazing. I had the tropical chicken salad also excellent. our server was prompt and courteous but here's what impressed me the most. There was a family with children behind us that were running around tables and bumping into us and I don't care. I had no problem with children. The management tried to handle the situation, but the mother was very on attentive to her children and let them run wild, we did not complain because it really didn't affect us i said, We like children. At the end when we got our check, my wife's wine and my beer were removed from the check and the manager told us that it was on her and apologized for being interrupted by the children. I explain to her that it was not an inconvenience for us and we did not mind, but she still insisted and told us that she wants everybody to have an excellent experience. It is nice to see when you think management isn't watching they were actually watching very closely and handle these situations with professionalism and grace. Yes this is a food chain and no the food doesnt taste like crap lol. The food is way above average and the staff is always going above and beyond to make sure you are satisfied. They lose one star because the WIFI was suspect and was not really working properly. Everything I had here tasted above average or really amazing. Mae was our server she was WONDERFUL. Honestly one of the best waitresses I've had in a very long time. Attentive, kind, not annoying in anyway- made good suggestions on side things. 3 stars because this is a chain not anything food wise that will blow your socks off. This is one of the few chain restaurants we will occasionally go to. My boyfriend got the baby back ribs he said the quality has gone down on those. I got the coconut shrimp tacos. You know the one that's used to as a line of demarcation, yeah, I sat there. I had to wait as they apparently ran out of proper glasses but, I just ordered my appetizers in the mean time. We wanted to sit outside but there was a 20 min wait so we decided to stay in doors instead and got seated right away. We ordered nachos .. shrimp and lobster quesadilla and coconut fish tacos .. my favorite was the coconut fish tacos it was the perfect combination of sweet and salty.. I loved it!! The quesadilla came in 8 small pieces and was good but wasn't that tasty.. it didn't have much flavor to it. A lot of the servers kept passing by complaining about side work and restaurant drama... which always makes for an uncomfortable and questionable food experience. Wow. The only place that was open on Christmas Eve. Props for that. Met up with a friend how loved Way and just looking to grab a drink and surprisingly this was he only place in the tri-town area to be open. Just grabbed a beer that night, but I've been here a few times before. They have a great happy hour selection with their drinks and appetizers. They have a good seafood selection, and I can't remember exactly what I've had off the top of my head right now, but I can tel you I've enjoyed whatever it has been. No complaints. Staff is nice too. There are things that are done well and can be crave-worthy, others can be mostly "meh". Cocktails are usually pretty good. Our favorites are: conch fritters, onion rings(have coconut in the batter like coconut shrimp) I got the "Taste of Jamaica" was a big let down, the only good thing on the plate was the pattie/empanada, the rest was bland and not done well. The jerk pork was dry and flavorless. The chicken leg was ok but not a lot of flavor, the callaloo was undercooked, under seasoned, and like eating leaves and sticks. The black beans were off or just nasty. It was heat lamp dead, except for the empanada. I wish I could give 0 stars. I went out for dinner with my boyfriend (a first - time breezer) and my parents. Let's start with the drinks, my mom ordered the Bahamarita, which is a signature drink on the menu with mango, kiwi, strawberry, and lemon lime... I'm not sure why she had to request they make a signature drink the way it's SUPPOSED to be made, with the kiwi included. The waitress excused the restaurant by stating it was because their bar was too small and they only really make the margaritas the way it is described on the menu when it is requested, it was almost as if she was fishing for a good tip by bringing what was on the menu as a "special request." PREPOSTEROUS. When they finally brought the drink out, the shot glass attached to the drink was dripping all over the table. My boyfriend and I had the ultimate pink colada, they were sloppy but tasted alright. Dad was the smart one, just a bottle of Heineken. The meals were ok, at best. My dad had to send back the Mahi Mahi as it was wayyy overcooked. Disappointment. My mom and I had the Jamaica jerk chicken, eh. Boyfriend ate the jerk chicken pasta, the only one who liked his meal. & here's what prompted this review: my dessert. I ordered the banana nut bread supreme. What a BAD mistake. After the waitress served me, I took one look at it and was confused. They gave me a ROTTEN banana. Wtf? I'm not sure how it made it past the prep in the kitchen, much less how the waitress told me it was going to be delicious. Are they blind? Service was ok. Waitress was overly attentive to the point that it got annoying. Also, the serving etiquette was WAY OFF PAR. I'm not sure who trained these people, but as a former waitress myself and a respectful human being, I know to serve the plates over shoulders and make it as if you aren't even there. I felt it was pretty rude for them to reach right in front of mine and my mother's faces to serve my boyfriend and my father their food, we weren't even sitting in a booth. It's an ok place to get some decent food and a meal in a fun chain restaurant environment. Was here at this location recently for lunch. I have also been at the Las Vegas and Orlando locations. They are carbon copies of each other from the menu choices to the decor to the seating and staff. Service is attentive and food is solid but not anything overwhelming. Plenty of seafood choices, along with appetizers and meats. Full bar with plenty of frozen drink concoctions. Kind of a Caribbean flair mixed in with a touch of American and Mediterranean. They cover a lot of bases at Bahama Breeze. You can even eat a bit healthy here. Had the grilled salmon with green beans and cinnamon mashed sweet potatoes. Not a bad dish at all. Good prices too. This place is like a more laid back islands version of TGI Fridays with a Tommy Bahama shirt on it. read more
