Had an amazing late lunch early dinner. Sat outside on a beautiful day. Music was playing and we had great service. We had cold antipasto for 2. Delicious!! Our main courses were plentiful with amazing flavors. Highly recommend

Ordered: The Station Spritz (~$14): Ketel One vodka, peach orange blossom, Aperol shaken and poured over ice with Prosecco and a splash of club Baked Brie in Puff Pastry (~$14): served with bourbon poached pears Firecracker Fried Calamari (~$17): garlic, scallions hot peppers, olives, balsamic vinegar Shrimp Horseradish & Capers (~$29): served with a dill creams sauce over spinach fettuccine Bread Pudding (~$9) Grandma's Chocolate Cake (~$8) Fresh Berries & Cream (~$9): just strawberries Aya's take: What a wonderful dining experience! We stopped by on a Monday around 5pm for an early birthday dinner for a friend. We made a reservation for a party of 4 which wasn't really needed (but per our waiter, definitely necessary from Thursday-Sunday). The Station has a very old yet classic feel. I started off with The Station Spritz which was honestly just okay. The Baked Brie in Puff Pastry was warm, flaky, and pretty tasty! The Firecracker Fried Calamari was a good try but it got soggy way too fast and some pieces had way more balsamic vinegar than others. I almost would've preferred to have the firecracker sauce as a dip rather than on top. The major highlight of this meal was the Shrimp Horseradish & Capers. Truly one of the best pasta dishes I've had! It was light, creamy, slightly sharp from the dill and horseradish, briny from the capers, with large, succulent pieces of shrimp. I mean the whole dish was absolutely impeccable. I even had some for leftovers and it was just as good! We decided to split 3 desserts, but unfortunately none of them were worth getting. They were dry, dense, and didn't have good flavors. All in all, the pasta dish alone is worth a visit here. It is great for a date or business dinner as it is pretty intimate. Definitely recommend checking it out!

[Blowing on my nails.] The menu is a mix of American comfort food and gastropub classics, but with flair, and has a bit of everything to satisfy different palates. Our eyes were probably bigger than our stomachs as we ordered 2 apps, 2 entrees, and 2 cocktails, and it was an enormous amount of food. The portions are definitely what you'd call hearty, and everything was very tasty. Thursdays are all day happy hour so we picked the fried calamari appetizer at the HH price (still a full and generous plate and didn't seem like a downsized version) which were tender and well-battered, as well as the hot honey wings which were meaty and substantial. The short rib parpadelle with housemade pasta and a perfectly medium-rare, well seasoned hanger steak with truffle fries completed our satisfying and belly-stuffing meal. The cocktails are serious as well - the presence of a drink with egg white is my personal litmus test for a bar that knows what it's doing, so the Thyme to Bloom special had my name on it. I'm salivating just looking at photos of dishes I didn't order, and am already plotting my return!

We came here to celebrate my husband's 52nd birthday, and the experience did not disappoint. I had called ahead and was pleased that they allowed me to bring a custom cake. I also appreciated the simple yet elegant touches, like the beautifully folded table napkins and a selection of champagne options (bonus points!) Starting off, the grilled octopus with capers, onions, and red peppers was the best I've ever had--simply amazing. It was light, fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. This is an absolute must-order appetizer. For my entrée, I ordered the Diver scallops with grilled asparagus risotto, crab meat, and crispy prosciutto. It was very good--rich, flavorful, and beautifully presented. My husband chose the Halibut with grilled asparagus and butternut squash risotto, and he enjoyed every bite as well. To top off the evening, the staff came out to sing happy birthday, which added another nice touch to the night. The service, ambiance, and food all came together to create an exceptional experience. I would highly recommend Barka for anyone looking for excellent seafood, elegant ambiance, and attentive service. Ambiance-wise, yeah it's a good, small cute restaurant, Peruvian paintings hanging on the wall. Service: it was Wednesday night so only 2 tables were occupied, so yeah no issues in waiting or service. Uncle was helpful with my questions. I guess we expected more (taste-wise), but it was a good experience. Overall 7.5/10

Cocktails were pretty good too - some a little on the sweet side but, again, somethin' for everyone theme throughout. Tonight we enjoyed the risotto as an appetizer and the beet salad - both delicious. Some others in our party had the mushroom soup - tasty and a huge portion. For entrees, my wife asked them to make an off-menu gnocchi bolognese and they obliged - and she was quite pleased with it. I had the gnocchi special with chunks of short rib - impossible to ever go wrong with anything with short rib! Very tasty! Our friends had a variety of pasta and veal dishes - the veal chop special was Wow! All enjoyed their choices. We skipped on dessert because everyone usually climbs into my SUV "bus" for ice cream somewhere nearby. The adventure continues! This is a rough business. However, we did have to wait a solid half hour past our reservation time with no apology. Our waiter was unfriendly, if not rude. I don't think he said more than 10 words the entire night and didn't seem particularly thrilled to be there. But otherwise, attentive. Food was solid. Grilled calamari came out lukewarm at best but was tasty. Mussels good but nothing special. Great complimentary bread. We all really enjoyed our entrees - salmon, orecchiette, and clams over linguine. Chocolate mouse cake was good but the biscotti pretty standard. Place was busy with a nice vibe. However the restaurant could use an update. Light fixtures, booths and some other design elements scream 1992.
