So so experience. 6 of us went. Two of the drinks we had to send back for more syrup. Either the employees aren't trained properly or the owners are going cheap on the syrup and heavy on the ice. Wasn't impressed with the cleanliness of the establishment. Not very busy on a Saturday afternoon and almost every unoccupied table was dirty. We had to ask twice for someone to come clean our table. The part that really turned me off was the 8 year old boy behind the counter helping himself to soda. I guess he is the owner or manager's son? Either way seeing the 8 year old kid behind the counter making a mess at the soda machine turned me off to this location. If they let him behind the counter where customers can see him making a mess i wonder what happens where the customers can't see in the back? I've been here three times, first time I tried a regular sno with half strawberry and half raspberry.. So delicious, but felt guilty about the sugar so I was happy to see a sugar free & zero calorie option! And I have tried that twice now, it's pretty tasty for zero calories, but that first-sugar filled one was really quite amazing when you do a direct comparison so I may definitely indulge again in the future... All in all, this is a great treat for a hot day, the drive through wasn't bad at all when I went today, but i did have about a 15 min wait or so the time my boyfriend and I went inside to order. My boyfriend has tried a strawberry lemonade drink which was fantastic and one of their smoothies which was good as well! They miss one star for me because of the second time I went; there was too much syrup on my sno, it was practically swimming and I had to keep pouring excess off, it's possible that since I asked for half and half flavors maybe they spaced on the second flavor and got a little crazy trying to make up for it? There are always 20 plus cars in line and same waiting inside to order. Every time I've been here there is only one person working. Customer service is seriously lacking. With all this business in the hot summer months, you'd think they could afford to add a few extra staff members to each shift. I brought my daughter into the store Monday night around 8pm for her birthday, and was immediately greeted by an employee. She met us at the register and quickly sparked up conversation with a smile asking about our day. After finding out it was my daughters birthday she offered us a BOGO coupon, asked my daughter if she would like to pick her umbrella color, and asked all about her day. My husband used to love Bahama Bucks. We would come 2 - 3 times a week. He always gets the avalanche size Bahama Rama Mama. Half black Cherry & Orange. For the last several times we have been there he has complained that it is flavorless and had no syrup on it. It was mostly ice. He has been complaining that the orange doesn't taste good. Tonight we found out that the orange has been discontinued and replaced with Fanta orange. Why soda? How do you stop making a basic flavor? Now we figured out why it didn't taste good, plus there was absolutely no syrup in it. The avalanche size is almost $10 bucks..... $10 bucks! - that for syrup, ice cream and ice! How can you charge so much and serve a terrible product and not have basic orange syrup and only put in 2 teaspoons of syrups? To the owner, if you keep this up, you will not have any business soon. As much as I love Bahama Buck's and this location specifically, I cannot patronize this location in the future... at least not until there is some sort of cultural sensitivity training. Not one, but two different employees acknowledged me with their eyes, but failed to ask if I needed anything, even after standing around and saying excuse me for five minutes. In contrast, a white gentleman walked up behind me and was IMMEDIATELY served. To make matters worse, Nanea, specifically, was very unpleasant the second time I asked for help; she looked up at me with the coldest stare as if I was bothering her. She could've been having a bad day, but she managed to muster enough energy to smile at other fairer-skinned patrons. Just got back from this location - very disappointed in what I witnessed. Watched a kid named Dylan put a bottle of sauce on his finger and then put the stuff back in the freezer behind the front counter. Also watched a kid named Ily dumping grape flavoring on someone's snow cone. As she was trying to clean the cup, she dumped water into the cup. Then she just added more ice to it and more flavoring. I am no expert, but shouldn't these kids be using gloves while handling the ice? For my order, I barely consider it cold. I sent this info to the corporate contact us button on their website. Best shaved ice around! I love their smoothies also and like that they have a stamp card which allows you to earn a free drink/item. I gave them 4 out of 5 stars because the last time I went the ice had a weird after taste like if they had used unfiltered water out of a garden hose.
