How will they learn if they are not taught? I visited Bahamas Buck's in Overland Park today and was eager to try the Strawberry Goes Bananas. However, the young lady who made my drink and processed my payment displayed unacceptable hygiene practices and a lack of common sense, convincing me I will never return. I saw her take my card with the same gloves she used to prepare three drinks--despite my only ordering one--run the transaction, and then return my card with shaved ice dripping from it. I had to insist she use a napkin to wipe the sides of my drink and place my sticky card on it before handing it back. Throughout the process, she showed no awareness or concern. Now, I am left discarding my drink and my money, and driving home questioning what else she may have touched and contaminated, simply because she failed to remove gloves, was untrained, or chose to ignore proper hygiene. Went on a Saturday evening and there was one group ahead of us who had already gotten 5 of their 6 items-they waited at least 20 minutes for 1 last item. We waited 25 minutes for 4 items and when we finally got them, 2 of them were wrong. Not to mention, $35 for 4 frozen ice drinks is insane! I would give a negative 10 stars if it was offered. Drive thru line had one car ahead of me. I waited 15 minutes behind them. Pull up and pay the young woman in the window said my smoothie would be right out. 10 minutes later I am handed this total mess! A cup with chocolate running down the sides with a straw that now has the wrapper with chocolate on it. I pulled forward not realizing the chocolate was all over the outside of the cup dripping on my clothing, console, and then cup holder. This was the biggest waste of $8.30 for the year. It tasted like a can of chocolate had been poured into the cup with ice then covered in whipping cream or some fake whipping cream. YUCK! This was my first time to try this place. Needless to say, I won't be a repeat customer. Whomever owns this Bahama Bucks needs to get a manager in there that has a clue how to run a business. Expecting customers to burn gasoline in line for 25 minutes, serving drinks with ingredients running down the cup on the outside (with no napkin supplied) and paying over $8 for this mess is ridiculous. Seriously, I've seen six year olds with a sidewalk lemonade stand provide better service and products! As I sat waiting at the window, I watched three employees making drinks. The workers are genuinely terrible, all of them you can tell it's there first time having a job and the wait in the drive thru takes over 25 minutes each time. The other reviews that complained about service is unfortunately true. We used the drive thru and ordered one snow cone. Once we got up to the window, we waited for 10 minutes and still no snow cone. You literally put snow in a cup and pour syrup on the ice. They have a bunch of kids working in the shop and it appears to function more like a hang out spot for the employees than a job. Customer service is obviously not a priority. We won't be back and we'll tell our friends and family to skip this place as well. Avoid. read more

I've visited a few times this week. First off, shoutout to the workers for busting their butts and having a positive attitude, because they have been slammed every time I've swung by. I love the shaved ice textures and the different sour offerings have been yummy. Just know going into your visit that you will probably have to wait over 30 minutes bare minimum. The business still needs to iron out how to manage the flow with walk up, drive thru, and pre-order, because right now the workers are not set up for success and it's not their fault. Where do I begin... let's start with "how to run a business 101". The objective is to take the order, take the money, get the product to the customer, and repeat that as quickly and efficiently as possible. With 6 employees, there were more employees than customers and it took over 30 minutes after ordering, to get 1 shaved ice. There's absolutely zero sense of urgency from any employee, and the wasted movements were off the charts. It's a freakin' snow cone! It's not that time consuming or complicated! Once I finally received my snow cone that sat on the counter for 5 minutes while every employee walked by it, the young lady that handed it to me could hardly be bothered to open the window and hand it out. No "thank you", "come again", "sorry for the wait", just plain rude. Here's the best part! This isn't the first time I had trouble here! I went during the first week of opening and there were about 15 customers, the wait was an hour and a half! Fortunately, a lady who had waited, warned us and we were able to leave before ordering. Love the concept and flavor options. I've been a few times now. Last time I waited probably 45 minutes for a snow cone in the drive thru, so that was not enjoyable. Today, I drove by and the line was short so went through the drive thru again. I have to say, the people who run the drive through are usually rude and the girl I had today was awful. She basically handed me my snow cone and closed the window door so fast on me as I was literally in the middle of asking her for napkins.
