Really enjoy their custard! Great time everytime I visit. They usually have 4 seasonal flavors and a pretty good selection of regular twisters. I like the pb crunch and marshmallows because it has Rice Krispies in it but they stay hard and crunchy and not go soggy. Also tried their brookie which was a seasonal of vanilla with brownie and cookie bits in it which was good. I love that they have a large order area outside as well as a drive thru. They also give out puppy cones which are small ice cream cones with a little bit of ice cream in it which was super cute. There are only four tables so don't bet on having somewhere to sit, especially during the summer. read more

Pretty good custard! Sweet, creamy, and fresh. Will agree with some other reviewers that it's on the runny-side so consume immediately as I'm not sure if it'd survive a car ride home without melting haha. Service was friendly and prompt. I enjoyed a mini triple play (reese's, pretzels, and caramel). Delightful flavor and textures. On the sweet side for sure - who knows how many calories it contained haha. Horrible service! We waited in the drive for 5 minutes for no one to answer the intercom then drove up to the window where 3 employees just looked at us but didn't attempt to take an order. It took an additional five minutes for one twister and three employees to man the single order with no other customers around. Seriously lacking on customer service. Best custard in town! My favorite order is a New Yorker (vanilla custard and cheesecake bites) add strawberries. Service is always good and efficient. They have drive thru and outdoor seating. Can never go wrong with twisters. read more

I stopped by tonight and asked for a small pup cup for my dog along with my ice cream order. They handed me a mini CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM cone. I was stunned. I said that wasn't going to work, and asked if they had vanilla instead. The worker looked confused and then just shut the window. I never got the pup cup. I'm not trying to be rude, but this could have been a serious situation. I don't think it was malicious, probably just a mistake, but it shook me. Please be more careful. And stay in school, kids. Our family has completely fallen for Twisters during the second half of 2021! I would guess we've been here close to a dozen times since summer. Having tried all the other FroCus joints in town, I can tell you the two things that REALLY set Twisters apart from the others: the JAM-PACKED "Twisters" (similar to a DQ Blizzard), and the customer service. Just how jam-packed are they? No matter which ingredients I order, no matter what size I order, EVERY. SINGLE. BITE. has a glob (scientific foodie word) of goodies in it. Brownie batter. Heath Bar. Cookie Dough. Birthday Cake. Pecan Pie (yup - PECAN PIE!!). I venture to guess that, by weight, 90% of each Twister is non-custard ingredients. The custard is just there to smooth it all out on the way down. And the service: every time we're there, we're greeted by a smiling, helpful, super-energetic and well-trained employee who processes everything quickly, well, and with a smile. Not once has one of our orders been goofed up, and I credit that to solid training - well done, Twisters! I highly recommend the vanilla custard with Reese's PB Cups and cookie dough, unless the Pecan Pie is available, in which case you DEFINITELY go with the pie...and some caramel syrup! read more

We liked this place! Sometimes custard seems mushy to me, but I liked the texture and sweetness (not too sweet) of their blend. Maybe being winter influenced the texture. I did a s'more sundae and mom built her own sundae with their wild cherries topping and chocolate custard. I enjoyed the hot fudge and marshmallow toppings. The cherries topping was generous, but bordering on "too generous" but it's hard to consider that as a negative! Mom said she'd get vanilla custard next time, at least if she ordered cherry topping again. We used the drive thru and it went smoothly, service was fast and friendly. It was not a busy day for them that day, so we'll have to see how that stands up on a busier day. The price was in line for the many custard places. This is my favorite frozen custard in all of Kansas City! They have more choices for things to put in a blended custard than other places and the custard is full of flavor without the heavy after sitting feeling of some custard places. The prices are also not too bad, it's not the lowest price, but it's not the highest. I've only got the vanilla custard with blended ingredients in it here and at most custard places in Kansas City, but for that choice this is my favorite and has been for over 10 years. It's the only one in the metro area I think, I wish there were more as Sheridan's and Freddy's are all around town. But, they just don't compare to Twisters. I've tried Andy's as well, but it's small sizes and much higher than any other place. If you like frozen custard, I doubt you'll find a better place for it than Twisters in the Kansas City metro. read more

For a custard place the custard was more like soft serve. I wanted to try something new and the reviews were solid but when I got my custard is was nearly runny. I only had three things in it so for it to be so soft as soon as it was handed to me was a disappointment. It was what I asked for and the young ladies at the window were very nice. read more

Yummy! My favorite place to get custard in the area. I order the New Yorker with butterfingers pieces. The New Yorker comes with cheesecake pieces and a choice of topping. They went heavy on the butterfingers (perfect) and had large chunks of cheesecake (so chewy). The concrete was also very thick, and not watery, like some other places. read more

Worst customer service. I came to the store 5 minutes before the closing. I was looking at the menu outside and no one inside bothered to told me that the store is getting closed soon or they could have told they are closed. I am always visibile from the huge glass wall. The only positive is that the line moved quickly. I ordered a vanilla custard twister with caramel and pecans. What they gave me was inedible. I promptly dumped it down the sink when I got home. It tasted like pure sugar; like someone had dumped half a bottle of caramel sauce into my cup. There were barely any pecans in it too. I'm not sure there was much custard in it at all...I certainly couldn't taste it over the diabetes-inducing abomination occupying my mouth. It's entirely possible that they just put A TON of sugar in their custard recipe. If that's the case, then I don't know how anyone eats this stuff. Please figure out how to properly proportion ingredients/mix-ins because you clearly have no clue. First and last time I give this place my money. I'll be sticking with Andy's Frozen Custard, they always do an amazing job! read more

This was great! Big menu, but easy decision. I created my own, a delicious rice Krispy treat New Yorker two in one with chocolate custard! In general I feel like ice cream has gotten out of hand, over $20 to take a family of four out for a treat is crazy. This custard was pretty good, I liked it better than Sheridan's but not as well as Custards Last Stand, which of course you can't find in Jo Co anymore. Andy's frozen custard is nothing compared to twisters. They are the most creamy delicious custard you'll ever try. My go to is a vanilla twister with Oreos and espresso but you can't go wrong with anything you get here. So nice in the summer time sitting at their picnic tables enjoying the Ice cream. read more

We are driving away from our first and last ever trip to Twisters. (We usually go to Andy's.). My husband ordered a hot fudge sundae and the thing was completely inedible. Somehow there was so much salt in the sundae, that the only flavor was salt. The rest of the orders were great, but we were all shocked at how bad the sundae was. It was an obvious mistake, but when my husband asked for a replacement, he was told they " don't give out free ice cream". He had just paid over five dollars for an inedible sundae and was treated like some dirtbag. The manager had a chance to make it right and chose to make my husband feel bad instead.
