BAHTOH is located in the Chinatown-International District (C-ID) on 7th Ave S & S Jackson St. It is Asian-owned and LGBTQ-owned. The staff are super friendly and talented! Beyond its identity as a salon, the BAHTOH team also specializes in floral arrangements, bridal hair, and recently, interior design for weddings. The co-founders/co-owners have spent years honing their individual crafts. Bobbie Yanoupeth is a master of all things hair, while Michael Sing produces stunning floral displays that leave you in awe. Together, they are BAHTOH - a Laotian word meaning 'wow'. According to Bobbie, "it's used as an exclamation to convey fierceness." I am really sad about the outcome of my hair. I was growing out previous color so that I could get a balayage by Grecia. Her work on Instagram is amazing and I know she has lots of regulars. My appt. was for a full balayage and haircut. The haircut was great but unfortunately not the "full balayage". I had booked a full balayage but instead got streaky highlights as you can see in the picture. I felt like the service was rushed and I understand I have a lot of hair. I just wish that Grecia would of been honest and communicated with me what she could and could not do with my hair in the time alloted for the service. I would have appreciated honesty vs. what I got. A rushed service using foils instead of a traditional balayage. So I've been really busy with life and took a huge hiatus from my review writing for yelp... but am very glad to be the first yelp reviewer for this new business in town, BAHTOH. This cute shop just officially opened last week right in the heart of the International District. The shop is a combination of a hair salon and floral shop. They also do special events design, floral and bridal hair. Their prices are extremely reasonable for the amazing work that they do. I LOVED the arrangement Bobbie made for me for my office. It was just beautiful. (See my pic attached) I also got a hair cut & color correction - and I couldn't be happier. Although I hate having to write a poor review for a new business, my girlfriend and I were just not impressed with our recent floral purchases. Back in the beginning of May (May 3rd, to be exact), Bahtoh posted a photo of a flower arrangement on their Instagram, which my girlfriend instantly loved. She messaged them with that photo attached, asking if she could get that same arrangement done for Mother's Day. They advised her this could be done and everything except one of the flowers shown in front would be in the arrangement and it would be $65. The arrangement was huge in the photo they uploaded, so this seemed like a reasonable price. They said to either call or come in to have this arrangement booked for Mother's Day, so we went in a couple days later. When we first walked in, my girlfriend mentioned she messaged them on Instagram and right away they knew who she was, so that was cool. We decided on a second arrangement to get someone else and asked for just a small arrangement that could be placed on a dinner table (we didn't want it as big as the other one we were ordering). Michael (?) then told us it would be $45 for the order we discussed on Instagram (different than what was previously told) and $25 for the smaller arrangement. He said we could pay the day of pick up (the evening before Mother's Day) and took down my girlfriends phone number to call her when the order was ready. The day we were supposed to pick up the flowers, we didn't receive a text or call to say they were ready. Not that it mattered, I guess, but they took our number down for that reason. When we got there, that's when the confusion and disappointment took place. My girlfriend uploaded the flower pictures onto here from her account, so I won't do it again, but if you look, they are both very similar in size. The size is definitely not the same as what is shown on Instagram, which we requested. At the shop, we were told $45 for the recreation of the Instagram arrangement and $25 for the smaller arrangement. The day of pickup, we paid $119 - $45 and $65, plus tax. This was once again, completely different than what we were told. Honestly, I would not have written this review and just said, "Whatever, we got two nice arrangements and we just paid a little extra." But the "bigger" arrangement started to go brown on Tuesday and we have flowers from Safeway from over 3 weeks ago that are doing better than the arrangements from Bahtoh. After 3 days, they should not be turning brown and limping over, as if they're going to die tomorrow. For the price we paid, I expected better quality, so that was the bummer. I advised my girlfriend not to go back. It wasn't a good first experience. read more

I wanted a wrapped bouquet for a friends party and originally went to Seattle Flowers to get it since it is close to my office in downtown Seattle and Young Flowers is just a little too far away these days. They did something soooooo weird and inappropriate so I, at the last minute, went to Bahtoh to get a new arrangement and I'm so glad I did! I walked into Bahtoh with the worst haircut I've ever had. The last stylist I went to had butchered it - short in the front and way too long in the back. I had an appointment with Jeanelle, who was very kind and professional. My hair was so bad that Jeanelle and Bobby had to work together to figure it out. Bobby was so great and willing to just jump in and offer his help even though he didn't have to. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with Bahtoh. I intentionally waited for a month to write this review because I want to see that after washing and styling my hair my own way, the cut and the color still look as good. I want to write a fair review because I had high hope for this place and was hoping this will be my salon from now on. I was quite impressed reading other reviews here and quite excited after seeing awesome pics on ig. My hairdresser contacted me the day before my appointment wanting to change the time. I said yes and I did try but ended up being 15min late. I booked my appointment for cut and balayage. I don't get hair done very often, in fact, only once or twice a year. I know going in that this will be the most expensive hair appointment I've ever had. It was over $300 (with tips). It might be normal for a lot of ppl but for me I feel pretty crazy spending this kind of money. But I thought it's been a while, let's! My hairdresser was pretty rough when she combed my hair during the cut, color, wash, dry and style process. She was not friendly and only gave short answers when I tried to make conversation. She didn't offer me any drinks, even just water. For this price, I expected better service. So I was disappointed. That being said, my color was very pretty and exactly as the picture I showed her. The cut was okay. If you look in ig you will see that everyone got the same cut and style. It's fine. I asked her to trim my bangs and she did a terrible job. She grabbed my bangs together, cut it in one chop, and never came back to touch it up. It looked alright after styling but when I got home and looked at it more and definitely after wash, I can see my slanted bangs! I texted her and she was willing to fix it but not for a couple days after. I couldn't wait that long since I had party to go to that evening so I had to fix it myself. I'm not sure if she was in a rush and bad mood cuz she had to go somewhere. On the other hand, the place is super cute with the flowers and plants. Parking will be an issue since it supposed to be 4-5hr (but it took 2.5hr) so I took car2go. Overall, I like the color and got lots of compliments. The cut was okay. My husband and I reached out to Bahtoh a few months before our wedding party date, on recommendation from a friend who had done extensive research on local florists for her own wedding. I wasn't thinking Bahtoh would be able to help with decor or flowers with only a few months notice (we were throwing a big party instead of doing a traditional wedding). Michael assured me they were available on the party date and wasn't flustered at all by the timeline. He was warm and receptive, so kind and calm, listened to my ideas for our small venue space--I wanted a lot of greenery, string lights and candles-- and just made it happen without needing much at all from me. The place looked so magical. He also helped us work with our budget which I appreciated so much. Michael and Bahtoh are true artists in the craft. Upon walking into Bahtoh's space it literally took my breath away. The detail and beauty in every piece...breath GONE! And this is only the first sign of how these guys treat everything they do. Hair. Flowers. Everything they touch turns to gold. Bobbie did my hair (cut and color) and that also took my breath away. I didn't really know what I wanted when I first got to Bobbie but he had great ideas and walked me through some concepts. We settled on a direction and he worked his magic. Something you should know about me is that when it comes to my hair I'm low maintenance. Bobbie made sure to execute the cut/color so that I could manage it based on my habits. I have never received so many compliments on my hair! I actually don't even think I've ever received any compliments on my hair until he started doing it. LOVE! I will never let anyone else touch my hair again. Their floral arrangements are also incredible. I'm not naturally a flower person but Bahtoh makes me appreciate them and makes me want to have their arrangements in my home all the time. I have had both hair and floral services from Bahtoh and they never disappoint! My husband and I have ordered several bouquets and arrangements (both cut and live) from Michael and Bobbie and they are always vibrant, fresh, and beautiful. Michael recently did 6 custom orders for me and was even able to accommodate me when I asked for a last-minute add on (the day before Mother's Day)! Bobbie styled my hair for my wedding and also a few bridesmaids. He was living in NYC at the time so I didn't have a practice run, but the results were fabulous. He was so nice to do hair on-site, at 6am, and even gave me a few touch ups throughout the day and a completely restyled updo prior to the reception. He recently colored my hair in the shop..more about the shop below...and he's been the only stylist able to give me the ashy, blonde color I've been trying to get onto my resistant hair for years. Bahtoh is amazing. Even though their actual shop is new to Seattle, their work and reputation has been a community staple for years. I hired Bobbie to work his magic for my wedding hair and it came out beautiful. Mind you, this was even without a trial run bc he was in NYC. I sent him a picture of how I envisioned my hair and hoped for the best. On my wedding day, he made me feel so beautiful and even gifted me with a beautiful hair clip to really make my hair do stand out. This just speaks to the fact that Bobbie is willing to go above and beyond for his brides. Now that Bahtoh is here in Seattle, I recently started going to Bobbie to have my hair done. My hair looks amazing of course. The shop is amazingly beautiful and so comfortable. I love being able to get my hair done, while munching on delicious little pastries and cakes that they put out, and leaving with a beautiful bouquet in hand! Seriously, I got my mom a bouquet for Lao New Year made by Michael and it was so gorgeous that I kept it for myself. Bahtoh is the only place that I have been able to actually find lavender colored roses. I was quite disappointed when my husband ordered me "lavender roses" from a different floral shop and when I received them they were actually pink. The florists assured my husband the roses were lavender but I assure you they were pink. So we know where I'm sending my husband for lavender roses from now on! This is for Charesse. I'm from CA and had a chance to go down to Seattle for a mini vacation. I decided to go for a drastic change - blonde to brunette. I was tired of my super blonde bottoms and didn't care to maintain the blonde anymore. I searched for a good salon in Seattle and found Charesse! She's so amazing at her job! She's a hair god! I knew I can trust her, she's so nice and whatever I asked for a recommendation, she answered. She doesn't make you buy anything if you don't want to. I'm going to get the shampoo and conditioner she recommends! She shampoos really nice too, very thorough and my head felt super clean . Some hairstylists can be very light handed with cleaning your head which I don't like. She uses a really good semi-permanent as well, I forgot the name of it but smelled so good!
