Was a beautiful night out on the deck for dinner. I had the lemon herb chicken which I thought was mighty tasty and tender. My friends had the rib eyes and they were not impressed for the price of them, and they were not cooked to their liking... one ordered a side salad which was not brought out until the dinners were served ... she just had it boxed up to go at that point... I had to ask several times for a straw for my drink and a box to take left overs. It was early enough for dinner that a lot of bugs weren't out yet but as we were leaving the gnats started swarming... there was several screaming and crying babies so it wasn't a very peaceful dinner, but not the restaurants fault.... Just wish that people had consideration for others when bringing their children to restaurants, when they are worn out from being at the lake all day.

Plumas Pines Resort is the place where my summer memories have spent so many years getting progressively wilder. If you're not here on a Friday night, you're probably doing weekends wrong. By day, it's a waterfront restaurant and grill with a menu that's got something for everyone--though honestly, the mac 'n cheese bites are the best. At night, it transforms into a social hub where the music is loud, and the people are as fabulous as you'd expect from a place with the best lake on the west coast. And let's not forget the Rocket Fuel cocktail--it's the drink that promises to magically improve your job performance, make your family adore you, and possibly solve world hunger. You can get here by car, foot, golf cart, or boat, because clearly, arriving in style is a must. One night at Plumas Pines, and you'll either have the time of your life or a hilarious story about how you ended up with questionable decisions. Pinky promise.

Reserved an RV space for my husband's birthday a month in advance. We were anticipating arriving to what was depicted on the website. There are only 4 nightly spaces (pricey) and placed on the main road into the marina so there was traffic back and forth during the day. The RV park is full with seasonal and full time residents. Our RV is only 26 ft C class, yet we had to squeeze in between the deck on one side, a tree on the other and a huge boulder at one end. The spaces are very close together - approx. 10 feet from each other. Dogs off leash seemed to be the accepted norm which made for a stressful walk with our own each time we took them out. There is no camp host present. I had planned on a birthday dinner of prime rib for my husband only to be told on our arrival at the restaurant that reservations are recommended, especially on weekends, and they had nothing available until 8:30 p.m. Thankful to the hostess who saw my distress when I explained the occasion that made a table ready for us. The view of the lake is beautiful and we enjoyed sitting on the deck for coffee in the morning, however, the "resort" falls short and was disappointing.

We really enjoy Plumas Pines (and the Prattville area) for it's charm and feeling of "the good old days" in Lake Almanor.

Stayed across the street in the Inn, but will look into the cottages next time! Service and food/ drinks top notch! You can tell everyone here takes a lot of pride in what they do. Food: Calamari was amazing! Super fresh, melt in your mouth strips ( not rings). The boyfriend is VERY picky but he loved these ones. Burger was huge and they even had a gluten free bun, which is hard to find. Bun was toasted and soft. Drinks: The bloody Mary's hit the spot, they do it up on the toppings. I even got some pork belly on top! Had one of their espresso martinis, also delish. They make it creamy which I love, I usually ask for it creamy. Lastly the lavender lemon drop was another great drink, super refreshing and it'll sneak up on ya!!! They do live music most Saturday nights as well!!

Overall the experience(s) were positive - the lake is great (although it gets choppy in the afternoon) and the staff were all young and exuberant, a high energy fun vibe from all of them. The SeaDoo was in great shape and was just right for us as prior experiences (years ago) had us worried it would be unstable and hard for our kids to deal with. The pontoon boat was fine but had a few quirks (one Captain's armrest was loose and the 140hp motor felt perhaps a bit weak for good tubing (renting pontoon boats at lakes is an annual tradition for us so we've experienced a variety of power levels) but it was adequate for some fun. The refueling will add to your rental - be prepared for that, but the nightmare stories from prior customers do not match our experience. The staff was friendly and chill and we had no drama with returning both rentals. Thanks for two good days on the water!

Rude! Rude! Rude! She reluctantly came to check and scolded us for not fully closing the patio doors which by the way is hard to open and close. The screen with a magnet attached, what a joke! The rats were living under the fridge and when we moved it to the side, there it was! A passage and droppings all over the floors. She then said, "well, you are in nature!" We weren't camping or glamping near a sewage! Despicable! Did absolutely nothing to accommodate us or move us to another cabin. So we stayed up all night with the rats! I am not sure about all the other cabins but #9 is smelly, old, and gross! Be careful being on the deck, might go through the rotting woods!

I booked us a trip to go hiking and stay at buttes resort on a whim and a quick Google search. I am SO happy we stayed here. Pulling up, we met with Jim the owner who was super nice and got us set up in our cabin, lucky number 5. It was sooooo cute. The grounds are kept very nice and there is a beautiful overlook in the back. The cabins have little patios and common areas to hangout with the other guests. They have an office that has free movies to borrow, board games, Menus for the restaurants and more. Walking into our cabin we were totally in awe. It was so homey and we were instantly comfortable. The cabin is decorated really well and has everything you can possibly need including a kitchen, utensils, plates and cups, hot coffee, a microwave, a fridge, and more. Our bed was really comfortable, the temperature was easily changed, we didn't notice any outside noise and we just had an absolutely amazing time. I can't wait to come back.
