Plumas Pines Resort is the place where my summer memories have spent so many years getting progressively wilder. If you're not here on a Friday night, you're probably doing weekends wrong. By day, it's a waterfront restaurant and grill with a menu that's got something for everyone--though honestly, the mac 'n cheese bites are the best. At night, it transforms into a social hub where the music is loud, and the people are as fabulous as you'd expect from a place with the best lake on the west coast. And let's not forget the Rocket Fuel cocktail--it's the drink that promises to magically improve your job performance, make your family adore you, and possibly solve world hunger. You can get here by car, foot, golf cart, or boat, because clearly, arriving in style is a must. One night at Plumas Pines, and you'll either have the time of your life or a hilarious story about how you ended up with questionable decisions. Pinky promise.

Reserved an RV space for my husband's birthday a month in advance. We were anticipating arriving to what was depicted on the website. There are only 4 nightly spaces (pricey) and placed on the main road into the marina so there was traffic back and forth during the day. The RV park is full with seasonal and full time residents. Our RV is only 26 ft C class, yet we had to squeeze in between the deck on one side, a tree on the other and a huge boulder at one end. The spaces are very close together - approx. 10 feet from each other. Dogs off leash seemed to be the accepted norm which made for a stressful walk with our own each time we took them out. There is no camp host present. I had planned on a birthday dinner of prime rib for my husband only to be told on our arrival at the restaurant that reservations are recommended, especially on weekends, and they had nothing available until 8:30 p.m. Thankful to the hostess who saw my distress when I explained the occasion that made a table ready for us. The view of the lake is beautiful and we enjoyed sitting on the deck for coffee in the morning, however, the "resort" falls short and was disappointing.

This place has so much character seen some pictures from the 40's amazing!! Now I did come with a big party and was a little bothered by the service and items on menu but not having available. Apps came out same time as the food and it all took very long to come out. Small menu and out of a lot of items on it. Saw our server only 3 times took order, dropped food, dropped check. Now if that's your thing food was amazing. I would def give it another shot due to the quality of food not service. If you are renting a boat I do not recommend it.

Our family has a long history of coming to Lake Almanor starting in the 1950's. We really enjoy Plumas Pines (and the Prattville area) for it's charm and feeling of "the good old days" in Lake Almanor. The staff is friendly, cabins are cosy and the restaurant / bar are a great place to relax. We look forward to many more visits in the years to come!

Stayed across the street in the Inn, but will look into the cottages next time! Service and food/ drinks top notch! You can tell everyone here takes a lot of pride in what they do. Food: Calamari was amazing! Super fresh, melt in your mouth strips ( not rings). The boyfriend is VERY picky but he loved these ones. Burger was huge and they even had a gluten free bun, which is hard to find. Bun was toasted and soft. Drinks: The bloody Mary's hit the spot, they do it up on the toppings. I even got some pork belly on top! Had one of their espresso martinis, also delish. They make it creamy which I love, I usually ask for it creamy. Lastly the lavender lemon drop was another great drink, super refreshing and it'll sneak up on ya!!! They do live music most Saturday nights as well!!

The grounds are well kept with Adirondack chairs on the porch of each cabin and around a fire pit in the center of the grounds. The meadow and mountains are beautiful. We happened to be there when there was no moon - the stars and Milky Way were amazing. Bonus - as we were stargazing around 10:45 pm, we heard wolves howling in the hills. So haunting and beautiful. The cabin was a perfect size for my husband and I. The king bed was comfortable, the bathroom floor heated and the rain shower was a fully walk in shower. The bathroom was all in stone. Beautiful. Good coffee maker with plentiful pods. The water was very drinkable. Two chairs inside to relax and read. Ceiling fan and a gas fireplace for temp control. There was also a standing fan if we needed it. (We didn't) It was 97 during the day but temp dropped to high 50's at night. We were very comfortable. The restaurant was excellent. The food was delicious and the drinks very well prepared. The morning breakfast included with the room was off a menu - you could choose what you wanted. The staff were super friendly from check in to restaurant team to the groundskeeper. We were there in a thunderstorm - the only con was the running and pooling water across the path from the cabin to the lodge and the waterfall off the roof on the steps and ramp. Thank goodness we had raincoats and another pair of shoes. We have Verizon and had no problem with Internet, text and calls in the cabin if we chose to engage. We didn't try streaming. The lodge wifi was very strong. We didn't notice road noise but maybe we were heavy sleepers. We'll be back.

The whole time we were there we were constantly having to get rid of giant black ants and other bugs. Also, none of the doors inside the cabin closed, not even the bathroom door. You could see inside the bathroom from the outside. The main door to get inside is easily opened without a key, which is not good at all. Also, the WiFi did not work during our time there. Not even in the areas we were told it would. Besides that, the area itself is nice. We enjoyed playing cornhole and badminton.

A few…read morethings we found surprising when they remodeled the cabin were the bedroom and bathroom doors! They are man-made out of what we thought looked like recycled wood that you can see through the slats, plus the sliders don't have any locking system. So yeah, we had to put up a blanket and make sure the door was secure, or it would slide open on its own about a foot! Plus, the shower had no pressure whatsoever! Next was the oven did not work, or the burners needed to be lit with a lighter. Our Son-in-law figured out that the oven wasn't plugged in! So we fixed that. Another strange thing is that they didn't cover up the fireplace, which is of no use. Lots of holes around it, and we found several flying wasps daily, we think they came in that way. Last were the outside main doors, they are man-made as well and have a quarter of an inch gap around them, you can feel the draft coming in. The heater by the fireplace worked great, but the actual heater we couldn't get lit, but luckily we didn't need it. They also put up man-made screen doors that the back one has about a 6" gap, which makes it completely useless if you want to keep the bugs out, as the mosquitoes there were horrible! Bring your bug spray and extra paper products when staying more than 2 days!! On a more positive note, we did have a great time staying there and will be back. Probably try a different cabin. The area offers a lot of stuff like lawn games, fishing in the pond, outdoor fire pit. Wood at the store, 8 good-sized pieces for 10 dollars. Close to the river for fishing. They have a food truck on the weekends didn't try it, but menu sounded good.
