    Fish N Chips

First we had the crab cakes and the shrimp cocktail. The happy hour red house wine was Robert Mondavi which you cannot go wrong with! For our entrees I had Fish N Chips and my boyfriend had the Imperial Ranch Skirt Steak (rare!). Both had great flavor, the Fish N Chip had a batter that was not too greasy and the french fries were crispy and salted perfectly. For the steak, it was cooked perfectly to his liking which is rare, the mashed potatoes were mouth watering and the asparagus were easy to cut and seasoned just right. Check it out in LO!

Rating: 3.5 stars I came here with a group of four people. We arrived at 7:30 PM and were seated right away even without a reservation. The restaurant was pretty empty and we were seated to the side and only one table near us was filled. Our server was very friendly and got our order to us quickly. I tried a MOCKTAIL which was nice and tasty. We had a side of BRUSSEL SPROUTS. The sprouts were very tasty and cooked well. Definitely a nice starter. I also had a CHOPPED SALAD. When I received the bowl though I noticed a fly crawling around the hard boiled egg :O That did turn my stomach a bit but the waitress did exchange the whole bowl for a new one. The flavor and combination of the salad was great. The egg though was overly boiled and had way too much paprika on them. All in all, the food option was nice as was the service; however, there may be a slight cleanliness issue that may need to be addressed?

Pros: decent size menu, great wine selection Cons: inconsistent meals. Two of my friends ordered the same meal and one was missing toppings on their chicken sandwich Our server didn't check on us as much as we would have preferred and we had to help the table next to us get her attention for their check.

Not bad. Not great. So fair, I guess? I met a friend here and found it to be a lively bar with a good community vibe. I had a carne asada salad (which was more steak than asada), my share of Brussels sprouts as an appetizer, and two glasses of wine, setting me back $50 pre-tip. Things feel a tiny bit off here. The food is fine but has zero finesse. There's nary a garnish to be had nor a nod to appealing plating. The service is curt to say the least. Our server, doing double duty as hostess, was pretty much a drill sergeant. For me the distinction between 3 and 4 stars is if I'd recommend to a friend, and I'm sorry to report I wouldn't, but I do appreciate affordable wine by the glass, so there's that

Stopped by for Happy Hour and glad we did. Happy Hour is Monday-  Saturday from 330-530 pm. Got there early enough to get a table outside on their upstairs balcony. The bottom of the building is another restaurant so remember that you need to take stairs to their side entrance,  just off the street. There is a parking lot behind the building but everyone in our party got street parking.  Ordered the crab cakes,  brussel sprouts,  caesar salad, mac and cheese, and the fish and chips. The drink specials are very reasonable. Got the Prosecco and a glass of the House Red.  We enjoyed everything and the mac and cheese warmed up well for the next day's lunch. I was expecting bigger cuts of fish for the fish and chips. The dish came with two pieces of fried cod a little longer than the length of a breakfast sausage link. I totally forgot to take a picture. Although,  the dish came with plenty of french fries and I really liked the remoulade.  Our server was attentive- got our drink orders quickly, checked on us throughout the meal, and asked if we wanted any other food or drinks before Happy Hour ended at 530 pm.  Would go back to try items from their regular menu.

Instagram pics of Chef Michael's plated creations are amazing! He sculptures with ingredients on the plate that'll make you say "Wow!" My jaws drop! The bulbous linings in my mouth pulsate into a slow droll droll droll. Looks lip smacking delish. Pic by pic, plate by plate, week over week salivating on the "dish of the week" which posts on Thursday's Instagram "enough!" I declared. "We gotta get down to Baird's for lunch to taste and eat-up!" "Creds" to Chef Michael and his "bitchin-kitchen" team / cooks. Service with a smile made a group of 13 we hauled in for lunch smile too. Here is a 3-course meal the Chef pulled together using his touch turning fresh and seasonal ingredients, spices and select proteins into artistic cuisine on a plate. Check out the menu. Menu: Starter: Dungeness crab with Canadian rock crab, remoulade made with mayonnaise, pickles, capers, anchovy and zest of lemon. 1) Grilled Flat Iron Steak, Cultivated Mushrooms, Mock Sauce and Fried Leeks 2) Salmon Belly Bacon fermented with honey, brown sugar, salt, pepper and paprika, white Northern Beans, Frisée and Citrus 3) Seared Tuna Steak, Lyonnaise Potatoes, Dill Cream, Blistered Cherry Tomato, Fort George Stout Mustard and Basil Oil Each dish an "eye-popper jaw-dropper show stopper!" Exceeded this Foodie Yelper's "expect-tastins" by a country mile. Delicious! What else can I say! Say hey, attention reviewers for Portland Monthly, Willamette Week, PDX Eaters, the Oregonian, fellow Yelper's, foodies and friends time to make some noise for Baird's and Chef Michael. Ya'll gotta try it! Baird's is in a great location in downtown Lake Oswego with a very convivial vibe inside. I suggest to roll into downtown riding on the Willamette Historic Trolley, which you board in the SW Waterfront. Enjoy the ride along the river over trestles and through a tunnel into town. Walk town. Eat lunch at Baird's (tell the Chef I sent you). You'll dig it! Henry David Thoreau said people seldom hit what they don't aim it! I got to give it up! Chef hit the bull's-eye for our group! Wake up foodies to Chef Michael's creative and scrumptious dishes. It's art on a plate to belly! Yum yum yummy! Food creativity, presentation style on the plate and taste what foodies want! Follow Chef Michael Stone or Baird's on B - Bar & Grill on Instagram. I did! I ate! Now, I'm a believer!

A bit pricey but the food was mediocre at best. We had a lot better food for a lot cheaper prices while we were in town.

Parking was a little tricky - there were street parking on the side and a city parking lot across the street. Checking in was easy with our reservation. The hostesses were efficient but not overly friendly (not in a bad way) The deck was absolutely awesome with a stunning view of the lake. They also had fire pits and different seating options inside and outside. Our waitress was lovely and attentive and made sure our group were taken care of with yummy drinks and food, and singing for the birthday girl. The drinks were delicious including my mocktail. The girls in my group really enjoyed the margaritas. The Happy Hour menu had many filling options from fries, clams, salads, crab cakes, chicken sandwiches to steak skewers. We for a couple things to share which worked out great. The fries were fresh and crispy and all the food were flavorful and cooked well. They seemed to be very family (and dog) friendly even if the whole restaurant felt more upscale. This place would be perfect for dates, catch ups, and even family brunches. I look forward to coming back to try other things next time!

I finally saw a city parking lot. I didn't even look at the menu; I just wanted to sit by the water to eat. I decided to make a reservation to ensure I got a seat. They only had two time slots, 4:30 and 7:30. I opted for the earlier time. We arrived at the restaurant, and there were others there without a reservation who were trying to get outdoor seating. Unfortunately for them, they could not get outdoor seating. We were seated outside, and the view was gorgeous. I was torn between a few things on the menu. I decided on the beet and burrata salad with a side of steak. I was really hoping for a fried Brussels appetizer. The server told me I could order a side as an appetizer, so I did. I was hoping that my friend would help me eat them, but she didn't. We both had the house-made ginger ale. The Brussels were brought out, and they were not quite what I expected. They were halved and sauteed. I was thinking fried. The server must have heard me saying this because she came over and told me she could have them fried. I thought the leaves would have been cut and then fried, but they just fried them halved. The salad was good, but it was way too much for me to eat. The ginger ale was also good. We enjoyed our peaceful dinner on the lake, and if we are in the area again, we will be back.

Decorating the walls are a large Jameson's Irish Whiskey mirror and a variety of photos, sayings, and Irish knickknacks. Appetizer favorites include Bavarian Bangers (soft pretzel and banger sausage) and Pan Seared Brussel Sprouts.
