The food at Five Spice was absolutely amazing -- beautifully plated and full of flavor. Every dish we had was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. If we were rating on food alone, this would easily be a 5-star review. Unfortunately, the service was a major letdown and really overshadowed the experience. Our server was an older lady and she never refilled our waters or drinks. When it came time for dessert, we were simply handed menus without being asked if we were even interested. At a fine dining restaurant, that's just not the level of service you expect. What really stood out was watching the table behind us get asked -- halfway through their main course -- if they'd like to order a soufflé early due to the prep time. We weren't offered the same courtesy, so we ended up waiting longer than we should have. We brought our in-laws visiting from Connecticut and were hoping to give them a memorable dining experience. While the food delivered, the lack of attentive service was disappointing and left us feeling like an afterthought. Great kitchen. Disconnected front of house. Hoping they can close that gap.

Five Spice Restaurant is a jewel of a restaurant with a stunning view over looking Lake Oswego! In addition, they offer one of the best Happy Hours in the area, with delicious seafood and beverages, reasonably priced. A new delicious treat I ate last night was Hamachi Crudo! Raw yellow fin tuna topped with caviar. Give it a try... Yum!

First impression of Five Spice when eating at 5: there are a lot of seniors haha. Toward the end of our meal, our poor server had to deal with a group of older ladies trying to blame her for something but she handled it patiently and professionally in the best way possible. This was my first time trying sturgeon and it has a chicken consistency. It didn't really taste like anything but the pepper and buttery carmelized mushroom and onions made the fish better. Ive never had a wild rice risotto and it wasn't too much. Stuffed salmon: can't taste the Brie much but the crab flavor was rlly good. Crispy rolls were fine. The breading on the calamari wasnt the best. Overall, it's a a solid place for a nicer meal.

I've been to Five Spice many times. Always good. Went to lunch with a couple of friends this week. Shared the open face crab and shrimp menu with a friend and added a cup of soup. The view of the lake is always great and service good. Sorry o ate some soup before I took the picture!

This gem can be found in downtown Lake Oswego just off Main Street, although you do need to look for it as it's a bit hidden. Once you find it, it's easy to remember and parking is great. Happy Hour is a really great time to check it out for a first try but I guarantee you will go back again and again. The food is abundant, delicious, and super reasonably priced. Service is exceptional. Do make a reservation though and request a view of the Lake, which is lovely regardless of the season. Food: the Happy Hour salad of mixed greens is ample enough to share, the warm bread and butter is a must, the shrimp/prawn appetizer is also shareable, though you might want to keep it to yourself! Yum!! I'll include a picture of my Happy Hour Hamburger without the burger, just extra cheese and tomato.

The wait was a bit long but we didn't have a reservation. We did get an outdoor table on their balcony. Perfect!!! It was a sunny and the view was beautiful. The wait staff were kind and attentive. The food was prepared fairly quickly. The star of all of our dishes was the train tail lobster. Our first had never eaten lobster. She was amazed at the flavor. The lobster was perfectly cooked, tender. The bitter sauce was warmed and a great compliment to the lobster. The rest of our dishes were good but not great. For the price I will not return. I think for equivalent cuisine there are less expensive and tastier options, including the lobster dinner.

Great food and service. Except I must have sat in the last one to get served chair every time a course or drink came out.

Quinten. The food. The wine. The ambiance. 10/10. * Food - Wild Mushroom Rigatoni: Top tier, perfectly priced, outstanding complexity of flavors, a literal culinary masterpiece. Ratatouille: They put a wonderfully unique spin on the traditional form. Served with bread to be enjoyed as an appetizer. Delicious. * Wine - My husband, a wine guru, is hard to impress. He now holds our #1 spot for providing us with the finest service we have ever encountered at a restaurant. We spent the whole ride home discussing how wonderful he made the night for us. Quinten compliments the ambiance, the hard working chefs behind the cuisine, the wineries, and the visionary owner of the restaurant flawlessly. We both had the Estate tastings along with the hamburger, French fries, and hush puppies. The hush puppies were so good -- crispy, flavorful, and served with a tasty spicy sauce. The burger with Gouda was delicious too! Our only hiccup was the fries, which were undercooked at first, but when we mentioned it, Abby immediately took care of it, and the fresh batch came out perfect. It was our first time visiting, and we loved the cozy mix of indoor and outdoor seating. This is exactly the kind of place I could see myself becoming a regular at. OK, so the fries were not as crispy as we'd like but that's not a dealbreaker. The space is great, the upstairs is nice and woody and warm, with a patio overlooking the street giving it a Euro vibe.

The bartender (a more mature fellow) was casually talking to someone, not serving him - standing in the restaurant talking. No one acknowledged we were there - or they would come back in a min. There were obviously plenty of people working a gal was putting candles on tables etc - we waited TEN mins to even have someone come over and give us a menu. The bartender seemed irritated at my question of did they have a pinot gris in the happy hour menu. "no, only chardonnay". And, when I asked for a taste - also seemed to irritate him. The food is great here - that is without question, which is why we went. And, it didn't disappoint. However - receiving the bill - there is a weird ADDED $1.25 for a "Hosting Fee"... Hosting Fee??? what the heck is thattttt. (if you google it will tell you that it's for 'helping the employees' basically) What? Then, I had gotten a regular non-premium martini. It says in menu Well Drinks are $8. A regular martini is just their well vodka and should be that. The charge for the martini was $12.00! Never going back - the service was lously. They are padding their prices and I can get much better treatment (and pours) at Five Spice or Tucci!

This thing arrives like a savory mic drop: a patty that actually remembers how to be juicy, cheese that melts with the commitment of a rom-com lead, and bacon so gloriously crisp it deserves its own Instagram handle. I considered asking for a restraining order because I could not stop staring at it. The killer fries are not merely a side--they are a full-blown supporting cast that steals every scene. Crisp edges, fluffy centers, and a seasoning that whispers secrets about your childhood while simultaneously punching you in the best possible way. I tried to eat them politely; they laughed and dove headfirst into my mouth. Kid-friendly? Absolutely. TVs everywhere for the Super Bowl mean you can corral the tiny humans with cartoons and nachos while still catching every questionable referee call. Parents, bring a referee whistle and a napkin--both will be useful. The place hums with the kind of energy that says "family night" and "I might stay for the 4th quarter and a bourbon." Speaking of bourbon, the bar flexes hard. The huge tap list reads like a beer lover's Tinder profile--so many matches, so little time. And the bourbon selection is a love letter to anyone who knows their way around a rocks glass. The Weller Rainbow? Legendary. It's the kind of pour that makes you whisper "thank you" to the bartender and then immediately try to high-five them for good measure. Service moves with the efficiency of a well-rehearsed halftime show: friendly, fast, and somehow always in the right place when you need ketchup, a refill, or moral support after your team fumbles. Atmosphere is loud in the best way--cheers, clinking glasses, and the comforting glow of TVs that make every seat feel like prime viewing. Final verdict: Go hungry, bring the kids, park yourself in front of a TV, and let the bacon cheese burger and killer fries do the rest.
