There is often a wait for a table but they turnover pretty quickly. Tables are fairly close together but works ok. Service was excellent through our meal. Portions are enormous on many dishes. Wish they offered half sizes as hate to see food waster. While many do takeout , it doesn't work great with pancakes with sauce on them I had the lemon blueberry pancakes that has a blueberry sauce that was cooked and topped with lemon curd. 10/10 must return spot!! Immediately were greeted by great staff, they took our orders immediately and our server Connor was great! The location is pretty centrally located and plenty of space to bring family or go on your own. My boyfriend and we ordered the buttermilk pancake, eggs benedict special of the day and King Kong. He said this is one of the best breakfast diners he's ever had and he's an honest reviewer! The pancake was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. While the food was decent. The pancake was overly sweet and the combo was bland. When we first got there to celebrate my friend birthday, the waitress spilled a whole pitcher of water all over the birthday girl! Throughout the whole time we were there, several workers kept approaching her to make jokes which made her more uncomfortable. When we asked if the restaurant was going to give her any type of discount for her meal, the waitress Chelsea, just stated "it's just on me but no discount would be offered". If I could give this place 6 stars, I would without hesitation. Baja Cafe has been one of my go to breakfast/ brunch spots for a while now, and it never disappoints. The food is incredible, and the service is always friendly, fast, and welcoming. I've tried a bunch of different things on the menu, and honestly you can't really go wrong with anything, but my personal favorite is the King Kong. Fair warning, this place gets BUSY, especially on weekends or when snowbirds are in town. Even if you get there early you're going to probably have to wait a bit for a table but it's 100% worth it! Easily one of my favorite breakfast spots ever. When the weather is nice I prefer to sit on the patio outside because the inside has that hectic diner feel to it but if they are busy I'll take a table wherever I can get one! I'm surprised the wait time wasn't longer after trying the food. I get why it made the Top 100 list! They have a great balcony area where pets are allowed and staff was very nice. Sadly, they were out of Prickly Pear mimosas, so I got a Wild Berry Mimosa without OJ and my guy got the same with OJ. We both agreed it was way better without the OJ. The wild berry mix they use was tasty and not overly sweet. Foodwise, we got the Berry Danish French Toast and the Southwest Smoked Brisket Tots (cheese sauce on side, no chipotle aioli). They brought the tots wrong the first time, but quickly brought us a correct version. It was really good! We actually preferred it without the cheese sauce since it made it feel much heavier. The brisket was cooked wonderfully and had great texture and the bacon was nice and crispy. The tots themselves were a bit disappointing and needed to be crispier. The french toast was soo good! It was honestly unbelievable how amazing this dish was. The french toast itself was perfect texture and delicious on it's own. The creme an-glaise was soo tasty and really elevated the dish. They gave a good amount of a variety of berries and didn't overuse the agave syrup. The whipped cream arrived already partially melted, but it's made in-house so we weren't upset. Got there with my dog along with my friend and her dog just after 8 am. Only had to sit in outside waiting area for maybe ten minutes for patio seating. Weather pleasant with light breeze making that fine. Service great from get go- the gentleman also owns a husky named Bobbi and was one of the wonderful and best servers there . Just outgoing, friendly, super kind to the pups, and efficient. When my friend realized she got coffee instead of soda ordered and finally got up nerve to let him know in her kind way(she is shy) , he was apologetic and kind back and brought it quickly. It was pretty crowded and we were quoted about a 30 min wait time but luckily were seated in about 15 minutes. It's a large location but definitely recommend coming early if you have a large group. Food was delicious. Prices are high for a diner but cheaper than other brunch spots and are justified through the large portions. My favorite was the hash browns. It paired nice with my poached eggs and cheese sauce. All of those ingredients were on top of a hash brown. It was divine! I highly recommend this menu item. I also ordered the S'mores latte. The iced, sweet concoction was delicious. It's a must try for any s'more and/or chocolate lover. This place hit all things for me-great service, flavor, and a great vibe. My girlfriend said she absolutely loved her toast, she said it was in the top 3 of her life. The ambiance was standardly nice and clean/organized. Jonna is an amazing server and EVERYONE should request her. She was fun and witty. She kept us on our toes in the best way. We were there to celebrate Mother's Day and the entire staff made us feel welcome. There were 8 of us and the food was was just a impressive, I had the Huevo Rancheros, which was fresh and spicy but not too spicy, and just delicious. Others at our table ordered the Cinnamon Roll pancake, which was AMAZING, the Cinnamon Roll french toast, an omlet, a blueberry pancake, the Baja breakfast burrito, and the Coyote Benedict. Anyone who had leftovers took them to go. Oh, and when I say one pancake, I'm sure that is all the average person could possibly eat. It covered the whole plate. Finally headed over to try out Baja Cafe on Campbell and 10/10 glad we did! It was packed - always a good sign - but we were seated right away. Our server was also the "bartender" but he stayed on top of it and we were happy with our service. I ordered a iced caramel latte- the menu did say that it had whipped cream and caramel on top and mine did not come with that. But when I asked for whipped cream as a side to add, they took care of that right away. We ordered the lemon blueberry pancake as well as one of the benedicts (Roadrunner) and breakfast sandwich aka Skooby Snak. The pancake was insane, it was so big an incredibly filling. The blueberries were so fresh and the lemon curd was perfectly tarp, and the crispy edges on the pancake were heavenly. This may be the best pancake I have ever eaten. The breakfast sandwich was small, but mighty, and I slammed that down so fast I probably could have eaten three more of them!! The benedict was massive and also very filling - while it was big and very tasty, the price comparison in relation to the other menu items and their size and taste had me struggling. It would absolutely be perfect to share. And that would justify the cost. Otherwise, I would definitely be back for a pancake and a sandwich any day of the week. I just got back from Baja Cafe and even at noon this place is busy inside and outside. I had the "Oops Burnt the Meat" Benedict. Firstly, sodas were by the can (meaning no refills). Our server was great but my Benedict wasn't. The burnt ends in the dish was 90% fat and it didn't taste good. I figured the burnt ends would be trimmed to remove some fat. Boy was I wrong! I've only been to Baja Cafe once. However, if today's meal is representative of the food they serve, then I don't understand the buzz or the lines to eat here. read more

I went to this place once when I was still in college with a club I was a part of. This place was amazing and worth the price of what you get. There was such a good selection of breakfast items to choose from. Amazing pancake variety from cinnamon roll pancakes, snickerdoodle pancakes, your usual kinds like blueberry and chocolate chip, and so many others. The food was delicious as I had the snickerdoodle pancakes which were fantastic. They were made fresh, with more than enough snickerdoodle flavoring, and had a great texture as fluffy and flavorful. The service when we went was good too as they brought out everything on time along with making sure everything was accurate. And the ambiance can be very noisy here because this place tends to be packed. Since it is almost always packed and busy, it can lead to long wait times which can be tedious. This place just redefined eggs Benedict and I'm so here for it. We tried the Wolverine Benedict and the Southwest Smoked Brisket Tots and both were absolute flavor bombs. Service was timely and the waitress was helpful. Our plates were loaded, especially the brisket, and I would say one meal is a perfect amount to split with two moderately hungry people. I also got immediate FOMO when I saw the guy's cinnamon swirl French toast at the table over, so I'll have to be back to try that. The only downside to our meal was that we went to hike Sabino Canyon immediately after and the food was so delicious that we stuffed ourselves!
