I had probably the best pancake I've ever had in my life. The blueberry pancake with lemon curd is absolutely to die for. It's somehow extremely fluffy and slightly crispy on the edges. AMAZING. We also tried the snickerdoodle pancake and a standard eggs/sausage/hash browns which were nothing crazy, but still really good! I think Baja Cafe is amazing! I recommend this restaurant to so many friends and if they've been to Baja, they already know it is fantastic food! I'm hungry just thinking about being there and eating! My all time favorite is the corned beef with eggs! The corned beef is the best in Tucson. Seriously, it's always perfection on a plate! We went on a week day during fall break, so it was a happening place to be. We had a short wait but it was absolutely a reasonable amount of time. We had fantastic service from beginning to end! Beyond my expectations. I've been wanting to go here for a while now and finally did with my son and his girlfriend. The first thing I noticed was the chalkboard suggesting a mimosa or a bloody Mary. We got one of each, wow the bloody Mary was fantastic. I ordered the breakfast tacos, could only finish half my plate. The food portion was big and the food was great. Our service was friendly, had a great food suggestion and we got our drinks and food fast. Wish I would have been here sooner but I got to experience this first with family. I can see why there was a 35-40 wait for a table! This cafe is one of the best I've been to in a while! There is a few bar seats for small parties of 2 or less so I did not have to wait but believe me, it's worth waiting for! I ordered the egg combo with bacon, pancake and hash browns. Everything was cooked to perfection! The strawberry pancakes literally melted in my mouth! I opted for the jalapeño crusted bacon and it was everything I thought it would be. What I appreciate about Baja Cafe is they are consistently excellent. Our family tradition following the annual Jim Click Run 'n' Roll 5K is to come here for breakfast, and everything was top-notch. We really enjoyed our lattes. I had the Train Wreck (green chile tomatillo sauce and top it with crisp hash browns, sautéed ham, bacon, sausage, spicy bacon, caramelized onions, bell peppers, green chilies and tomatoes. This place is a gem. We came in on Veterans Day and it was slammed, but for a table of two, we only waited about 15 minutes to be seated. Our server, Kayla, was fantastic. It was enormous and had innumerable ingredients. I recommend it. Service was good, and the waiter gave us a free giant waffle too. We opted for the bar seating wherever it's just my wife and I since we get seated faster and also usually a better experience (better feel of the atmosphere and closer look at where the magic happens in kitchen and bar). Servers were on point with getting our orders, timely in bringing them out, and being attentive throughout our stay. I love this place! Came for the first time with a couple friends. We were seated quickly. Our waitress was so nice. She was quick and appropriately attentive. Everything was clean. My husband and I have eaten at Baja for well over a decade. We've never had a bad meal and service has always been great. I don't normally write reviews but today's service was especially wonderful. Chelsea was our server and her attention to detail was phenomenal. I don't think we've had better service at higher end restaurants. Our coffee cups never ran dry. She even noticed we preferred plain creamer vs the flavored, and pointed out that we were running low on plain. She brought back a handful. We also meant to order a pancake to go but forgot. Chelsea must be a mind reader because she actually asked us if we also needed a sweet treat, reminding us that we forgot to order it. She timed the making of it just right and it arrived fresh just as we finished eating. To top it off, she was super sweet even though she was very busy with other tables. This is my favorite brunch spot in Tucson, and Tucson has many brunch places that I love. So many things to choose from on the menu, the options being super unique/interesting too. My go to is the brisket caramellos and the s'mores latte, but you can't really go wrong with anything you order. The caramellos taste even better as leftovers. Service is efficient, even when the restaurant is full and there's many people waiting to be seated, you're often seated before the estimated wait time. It's completely worth the wait either way. My boyfriend and I come here a couple times a semester (it's our go-to as brunch lovers) and have put our visiting families on to the place who have also loved it. First off, I am a HUGE Baja Café fan (on Broadway) but the experience here was terrible. It is so LOUD you cannot hear the server! Prior to that assault, the server literally threw the menus on a table and kept on walking...so, we sat down and immediately some other person came over and took one of the chairs from our table, not a word said. Server stopped by with waters but we couldn't hear her so we just decided it was time to leave. I don't know a solution for these issues but ours was solved by going across the street to First Watch for a quieter, nicer and well-served table. read more

When my friend told me that Tucson was a City of Gastronomy, I was a disbeliever but now that I have seen the light and after less than 24 hours, I have become a true believer with Baja Cafe being one of the venues that I patronized during my short visit to Tucson for an amazing culinary experience. Cass, our server, was great. Baja Cafe has a variety of Eggs Benedict however they don't have any seafood versions like with smoked salmon, for instance, nevertheless I ordered the Eggs Benedict Brisket Carmelo, grilled crisp caramelos stuffed with shredded brisket, tomatoes, chorizo, cheddar and Jack cheese. Topped with two strips corn husk smoked bacon, fire roasted diced green chile and two poached eggs. Finished with a combination of New Mexican red chile sauce and a smoked gouda cheese sauce, pico de gallo, cotija cheese and pickled onions. The perfect digestive for this lite breakfast snack, was the Yosemite Sam Bloody Mary, chile infused vodka, garnished with jalapeno bacon, corn husk smoked bacon, a cube of Jack cheese, stuffed olive, Chilitos peppers, pickle and cucumber. This dish consists of ( I may forget something); a bed of tater tot's, some elote, onion, pickled red onion, pickled jalapeños, guacamole, spinach, burnt ends, and 2 eggs of choice along with chipotle hollandaise. My issue is the ends were nearly all straight unrendered fat with a charred side, should have been meatier. Luckily the acid of the pickled veggies helped cut fat. Tammy and I are here in Tucson visiting our son and his wife, Chris and Zoe. Chris recommended breakfast today at Baja Cafe. So glad he did! We were greeted by the staff and seated quickly, even though they were fairly busy. The restaurant was decorated tastefully with a comfortable, modern vibe. You can dine indoors or outdoors. Our server, Dalyse, was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the coffee, which was rich and delicious. I also had one of their Prickly Pear Mimosas, which was very tasty. (I had two!). All our entrees were amazing, served quickly and hot and cooked perfectly. I had to pick from all of the delicious sounding Benedicts on the menu, which I've provided a picture, and I decided on the Wolverine, which I've also provided a picture.
