I haven't been the a Baja Fresh in a long time! Our boss took us here today for lunch and it didn't disappoint! We had the guacamole and chips which were amazing and I had shrimp tacos! It was crowded so super busy!! I will be back!

Ribeve taco combo not as flavorful

The food here is alright Tried their carne Asada, fish, and rib eye taco. Not as flavorful and juicy like other authentic place. Also had their shrimp ceviche which didnt have much flavor and their carne asada nachos (cheese harden when it got to the table) Not sure if I was suppose to eat something else here but I was told that everything here is good.... In my opinion its alright. Missing some flavors im used to.

The tacos were just ok. I tried the carne asada taco and charbroiled chicken taco. The tacos came with salsa already, lot of toppings. I wish it had more flavor. The green sauce made it better though. The pico de gallo was very light too, but very fresh. My friends really love the combo with the enchilada though! The inside was super spacious, lots of tables, outside as well, with shade over the tables. The waiter was very friendly. He delivered the food and cleared the plates from the table too.

This is my favorite place for Mexican food. It reminds me of the incredible food I had in San Blas, Mexico. The best shrimp tacos anywhere! My only pet peeve is their use of an industrial cleaner to mop the floors, and they spray down the tables with another high power cleaner. It makes the room smell. Every time we go there, they mop the floor with this cleaner that stinks up the whole place. Along with that, the workers go around and spray a cleaner on all the tables and door. The spay carries in the air and lands on my rice. Please use another cleaner without that smell. Ugh.

I came here after dark, hungry, expecting something comforting. Instead, I got robbed under fluorescent lights. Three carne asada tacos. That's it. No drinks. No sides. No atmosphere worth noting. Just three small tacos that somehow cost thirty dollars. Each taco was $6.50 -- and they had the audacity to charge $3 for a smear of guacamole so small it could have been applied with a Q-tip. It felt sinister. The kind of quiet robbery where everyone around you pretends it's normal -- like we've all agreed to let the place drain our wallets while smiling at the counter. You can almost feel the contempt in the pricing. This isn't a restaurant anymore. It's a toll booth for the hungry, run by people who clearly despise their own customers. No warmth, no value, just corporate greed wrapped in a tortilla. I left angry. Not just at the price -- but at the insult. The sheer arrogance of it. If this is what they call "dinner," I'd rather go hungry. Baja Fish Taco, congratulations. You've achieved something rare: turning loyal locals into lifelong boycotters.

This place is such a great hidden gem! I've been coming here for years for the Shrimp Tacos, Chips and Guacamole, and of course the salsa bar. The service is always great, and everyone that I've encountered dining has always been super polite. Definitely check this place out if you're looking for some great food!

5 Stars if they bring back the BLACKENED CHICKEN!! Baja fish tacos had the best blackened chicken I have ever had. Deliciously juicy tender blackened chicken. I still dream of it!!! Everything here is really good but the Blackened Chicken was the BEST!!! If you know you know, they have taken it off the menu years ago then brought it back a few years back just to take it away again!!!

This restaurant is AMAZING. It was recommended by a friend of a friend and blew us away. We read the reviews about how good the shrimp tacos were, so 3 of us got them. They were incredible! Full of flavor, yet not too spicy for my sister and I who have a low spice tolerance 2 of us got the combo plate which comes with rice and beans, and there were more than enough rice and beans to share. Between the 7 of us, we had the shrimp, fish, and carne asada burritos, and shrimp, fish, and carne asada tacos which were all thoroughly enjoyed by our party. The staff were very kind and serviceable. The restaurant is clean and has a cute coastal vibe. We will definitely be adding this to our Newport roster and be back soon!

I don't eat here enough and I should because I love all their tacos. It's a good size and it's always a long line when I come here but I got here at a good time. Their fresh salsa bar is always my favorite too, their pico is just so perfect, I can't get it like that anywhere else. I always get the grilled and fried fish taco here and that was enough for me that day. I usually get 4 tacos but this time, I just needed 2 since I was gonna be busy that day.

    Baja salad with sirloin

Delicous food, the produce was so fresh and delicious. I got the baja salad with sirloin wich was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing and my dad git the shrimp burrito wich had huge fresh delicous shrimp.

I stopped here on a weekday afternoon and it wasn't very busy. They are gluten free friendly and the person who took my order at the counter recommended the grilled/blackened fish and shrimp tacos on corn tortillas. I was really disappointed by both because they were quite bland. I didn't find any of their salsas to be spicy. I had to add Tapatío for more spice. I enjoyed their hibiscus iced tea. The staff was very friendly and stayed on top of clearing the tables, making sure everything was clean and picked up, etc., so that made for a nice dining experience.

The chips and salsa were really good. The aguachile had a nice spicy flavor that made it stand out. The queso fundido was SO good super cheesy, and paired with the handmade tortillas it was one of my favorites. We also ordered the calamari and I was surprised by how good it was. Everyone ordered different rounds of cocktails throughout the night and honestly, not one missed. Service was a little slow, but it was a busy Friday night, so that's somewhat expected. I've been here before and the grilled octopus tacos and carne asada burrito were just as good as I remembered them. They also made the birthday celebration really cute. They sang happy birthday, brought out a small ice cream, and gave my friend a big mariachi hat. Good food, great drinks, and still consistent as I remembered it. So long Playa Mesa. 9.5/10

The birria tacos were packed with flavor, and I loved the inside-out cheese crust. My husband's fajitas were flavorful, although the chicken was a little overdone. The guacamole was excellent, especially with the pepita seeds adding great texture. Overall, we enjoyed the flavorful food, service, and atmosphere. We'd definitely come back!

I've been shopping at this location for about a year and have been a customer of Northgate Markets for several years. Unfortunately, my experiences at this location have become increasingly disappointing. I've encountered raw chicken left on the shelf two or more days past its expiration date, fresh fruit and salsa still being sold after their use-by dates, and produce that was visibly rotten and infested with bugs. These aren't minor issues when it comes to a grocery store--they're basic food-safety and quality concerns. And then there's the customer service. Today, there wasn't a friendly employee in sight, and the customers weren't much better. I'd especially like to thank the grumpy woman on the scooter who apparently tried to run me down three separate times. I assume you were having a bad day, but judging by the atmosphere in this store, it seems like everyone is having a bad day, every day. No one smiles. No one acknowledges customers. No one seems remotely interested in providing even basic courtesy. I understand that people have bad days--I really do--but when the entire experience consistently feels cold, hostile, and unwelcoming, it becomes a pattern rather than an isolated bad day. The cashier couldn't be bothered to say hello back or even make the slightest attempt at being friendly, and the young man bagging my groceries was just as dismissive. I've spent years shopping with Northgate Markets, which makes this especially disappointing. Customers shouldn't walk into a store and feel like they're an inconvenience for simply being there. Today was the final straw for me. There are plenty of other places willing to take my money while treating me--and other customers--with basic courtesy and respect.

We shared: Camarones à la diabla, menudo, and chingolingas. The camarones were 10/10! I've tried this dish at numerous restaurants and this is by far the second best tasting camarones à la diabla I've ever had. First place is a restaurant in NorCal from years back. The red salsa is delicious! The shrimps are a nice size and they have the shell on so it retains all the flavor. Even the beans and rice were delicious. The menudo was delicious as well! I'll definitely be back for this too. It's only served on weekends, and we were lucky they still had some available. The chingolingas are almost like flautas de pollo, it came with guac and sour cream. They were delicious too, however, I'll probably order this as an appetizer or to share with others. Rocky was our server and he was amazing! Super friendly and attentive. We talked about the food, other locations, and even their anniversary event coming up on October. From the moment I drove in until we left, it was a great experience. Not only was the food delicious but the service was superb. All the workers seemed happy and it looks like a nice environment to work at, I think this adds to the experience for people who come eat here.
