I've never enjoyed fish in a taco or burrito... until I tried this place. I got the blackened fish burrito with black beans and everything it comes with and it was pure fire. I was so surprised that the burrito came with guac inside.. many places charge extra for that! The flavors were clean, fish, and fresh! The order process: I used to go here, and it was quite good. But this last visit was a mess, and I was truly disappointed, to say the least. To start off, there's always a line to order, which iserson who took my order couldn't find, but the person who understood the basic questions I asked about the menu. I hate to say this, but it was like talking to Consuela from Family Guy. She just repeated the name of the menu item. So annoying. If the owner is reading, please find someone competent at communication to take orders. Also, she speaks so fast that I couldn't understand the questions she asked. It was so bad. Needless to say, she got the order wrong, and, worse yet, they made it wrong on top of that. About the food Moderation is not key this time around. I ordered a nacho, and it was bland, but worse yet, it was as if the chef had just accidentally spilled too much cheese on it. Too thick, covered in cheese, and nothing else other than the meat, chips, guacamole, and sour cream. Just really a big dissapointment. Order 2 enchalada meals, one with blackened fish, got charbroiled, order it with red sauce - got green sauce. The fish was fresh but way overcooked, dry, and hard. The second one was a shrimp; I ordered green sauce, but got red sauce. Both of these have way too much cheese on them. And the shrimp was so overcooked that it was hard and chewy, not good at all. The only good meat they served in this meal was the chicken in the nacho, which was juicy and not overcooked, but then the nacho really sucks for the reasons stated above. The saving grace is the all-you-can-eat salsa bar, which is way too small and always has a line, and the shared utensils for scooping the salsa just make me cringe. I've been coming here for a long time now, probably 10 years or maybe even longer, and one thing for sure, every single time I come here I always get the fish tacos and nothing else. As usual I got the blackened fish taco and the charbroiled fish taco. Both were loaded up with fresh shredded cabbage, pico de gallo, and got some salsa verde on the side. The fish itself was cooked perfectly. Nice tender pieces with a really fresh taste and a good seasoning on both tacos. The blackened one had a little more kick and smoky flavor while the charbroiled taco had that perfect mix of fresh ingredients that tasted great. The tortillas were soft, the cabbage had a nice crunch, and everything just tasted fresh from the first bite to the last. Every bite had fish, cabbage, pico, and flavor all mixed together. Massive parking lot in a large shopping center. You will always see a line, but it's always moved very fast and Ive never had to wait for seating. They have a great flow going. I love the energy from the folks who work there, always happy and helpful. The folks that keep the dining room clean are very fast. Massive portions of excellent food. We love the fish here and tend to get the blackened. The black beans are amazing, and they also have really good rice. Oddly it was the rice that made my son want to bring us here the first time, he will eat it with a shovel. Great lil salsa bar that they keep well stocked and fresh. Something for everyone and if you like seasoned onions you have to load up on those. soooo good. This is my favorite place for Mexican food. It reminds me of the incredible food I had in San Blas, Mexico. The best shrimp tacos anywhere! My only pet peeve is their use of an industrial cleaner to mop the floors, and they spray down the tables with another high power cleaner. It makes the room smell. Every time we go there, they mop the floor with this cleaner that stinks up the whole place. Along with that, the workers go around and spray a cleaner on all the tables and door. They are gluten free friendly and the person who took my order at the counter recommended the grilled/blackened fish and shrimp tacos on corn tortillas. The flavor of the shrimp is just delicious (it is not fried) and the toppings just add to the overall exquisiteness. My go to order for lunch is 1 Shrimp taco with pinto beans and salad with champagne dressing. The green salsa is the best, I add pico to my salad and the beans are also the best so creamy. They also have the best bean and cheese burritos because the beans just make it great. I order online and it is convenient and efficient. It also helps you avoid the long lunch line. My coworkers love this place too. They get the enchiladas, the carne asada bowl, and the fish tacos. The consistency of this burrito is the main reason it ranks so high for me. Every single time I order it, it tastes just as incredible as the last. (Note: I always go to the one on 17th Street, so I can't speak for other locations.) The shrimp is crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, & absolutely packed with flavor. I always customize it with black beans, sour cream, pico de gallo, & depending on my mood, guacamole, all of which blend perfectly together. The burrito itself is generously sized & stuffed to the brim. Pro tip: use the tinfoil to help hold it together while you eat, especially with all the delicious add-ins. It gets messy, in the best possible way. The customer service is always quick & efficient, & the food is made with what clearly are high-quality ingredients. Every bite tastes fresh & thoughtfully prepared. There's also a salsa bar on the side stocked with fresh whole jalapeños, lime wedges, & various salsas, including extra pico de gallo if you're like me & can't get enough. The front of house (FOH) & (back of house) BOH looked very clean, & you can see into the kitchen, which adds a sense of trust & transparency. Window-side seating lets in plenty of sunlight, giving the space a bright, inviting atmosphere that makes dining in feel relaxed & comfortable. Just a heads-up: sour cream & guacamole are extra charges. As of now, sour cream is $0.80 (or $0.86 with tax) if ordered by itself. The total for my burrito came out to $24.62, which definitely puts it on the pricier side, but the quality & portion size make it feel like a worthwhile treat. This burrito is bigger than my face! I put their pico de gallo is very flavorful and tastes good on top of the rice. The decor inside is nice. Some of the employees are friendly. All of the different ways they serve the fish are scrumptious. They also have a yummy spicy salsa if your stomach can handle it. The chips and guacamole are ok. The chips are crispy, but a bit on the thicker side. The only thing is the guacamole is slightly bland, but still not bad. That said, overall, the value of the food for what you're paying is worth it. This place gets crowded and understandably so. Oh no, I loved Baja fish for a loooooong time, back when my mom used to bring us back some after work, first of all they discontinued great items like the Cesar salad with chicken, the blackened chicken, but what I am most disappointed is the last time my husband order some Uber Eats, he recently got into an accident and was using a wheelchair, so naturally he order Uber Eats, when he got the order he realized he never got any protein just rice and beans , so he called and whoever picked up the phone had the audacity of just blaming it on the driver saying he left without it , when we know they don't get to just grab the food , they have to hand it to you!!! My husband asked him to just put a little extra since I had to go and grab the rest of the order. Rest assure instead of fixing the issue as continued customers for years!!
