By Far THE BEST location we've visited. The friendliest staff ever!! Their staff are definitely attentive as they follow our ingredient requests meticulously. I never feel rushed. They're so patient and always seem happy to be at work. Their work stations are so clean too! It brings me peace of mind when I visit restaurants that care about how clean their work areas are. The ingredient ratios (ie rice to beans) is perfect while many other burrito places seem to use beans as the filler ingredient. I never enjoy a burrito with only beans as the main attraction. Their fajita vegetables are flavorful, same as their al pastor. I've tried the shrimp one time, and I'm not a fan of the seafood ingredients. Especially love adding the extra $ corn and I know it's mentioned as a limited edition side dish:garnish, so I hope they keep it on their menu. Overall, the flavors and of each ingredient is consistently delicious. I'm very late to having tried Chronic Tacos locations, but better late than never. Once again, thank you for helping make dinner an easy (and delicious) solution, especially as we rarely make it home early enough to cook. I used to have only Taco Bell to pick from getting home so late everything else was closed. Back here in the OC, with so many variety of delicious restaurants, I find myself still gravitating to as many different Chronic Tacos locations depending on whichever OC city I happen to be visiting. I needed a good source of protein after my bike ride so i went in to get a chicken burrito and i was hoping they didn't skimp on me and they didn't. My burrito was big and the prices here are better then anywhere else they sell tacos and burritos. They also have bowls. My husband and I came in for a taco salad and fish tacos, and weren't disappointed. Dina came from back when she heard us talking and greeted us like family members. My man and I have been coming here every Monday night for the last 5 weeks and we have nothing but amazing things to say! Hands down best potato tacos! each time we come we get potato tacos and a bean and cheese burrito. The beer battered shrimp is so juicy! Tortillas are fresh and full. Green salsa is our favorite but the cilantro crema on top of the bowlrito was fabulous. Not only is the food just super, the staff are super attentive, quick and efficient as well as friendly. Looking at the photos, they seem to be gathered from other Chronic Tacos and are not all of this one, the original spot. The food at the original is very, very good, the staff is friendly, and the kitchen is clean, but that's about all that's clean. Overall, the place appears old and run down, and anywhere that's not the kitchen is dirty and sticky, making eating there an unpleasant experience. Forget about expecting a clean bathroom or even a semi-pleasant one. It's very small and doubles as restaurant storage. Restaurant seating is very limited and cramped. Everything I touched was just sticky and dirty. I think most people get their food to go for these reasons. Personally, I love their food but not sitting there to eat it. The parking lot and street view do not lend good atmosphere. It pains me to write this, but it's the truth. Perhaps something will be done to remedy the situation. read more

I was one of the first customers of the original CHRONIC TACOS here in Newport Beach, CA on PCH/Superior. I moved to Washington and now the closest one to me is 70 miles away, but I can tell you that this particular location maintains the quality and experience that I have come to know and love from CHRONIC TACOS. I think I had the best burrito of my life today. Nothing special, just a regular Al Pastor burrito with some stuff inside. But oh my god was it good!Of all the Chronic Tacos I've been to over the years, this one is by far the best. Absolute freshest food every time. Seating options include about ten tables inside, a long table along the front window with a bunch of chairs, and a patio with quite a few tables, but no umbrellas and not much shade depending on the time of day. I sat at the front window and enjoyed the view. The air conditioning was nice and chilly. They had good 1970s and 1980s music playing inside. I walked up to the register, placed my order, and it was delivered to where I was sitting about ten minutes later. I had the Oklahoma smash burger (double smash patty, cheese, sliced onions, special sauce, potato bun, $12.99). It was good, but it was a little bit on the bland side. It was an average sized smash burger, there were plenty of onions, and the bun was fresh. The flavor just didn't give me the "wow factor" I usually get from a great smash burger. I also had a side of onion rings ($6.99). These were great, with a good crisp and the perfect amount of batter. It was a good serving size also. The restaurant was clean, and the staff was friendly. They are a little on the expensive side, as I've had way better smash burgers for much less. If I could give half stars, I would give 3.5 stars. I'll round it up to four stars since the onion rings were excellent, and I enjoyed the view even though it was just of Newport Blvd.

To start, we ordered the chips and guacamole, which were fresh, light, and the perfect snack while waiting for our food. Everything tasted fresh and made with quality ingredients. We sat outside under the large umbrellas, and the outdoor seating area had such a relaxing atmosphere. It almost felt like we were having a little picnic while enjoying the beautiful weather and people watching around The LAB. The service was also fantastic. Bro like why is this place still open. Chronic taco has great food at a reasonable price. But they are mean here and they can't help but make me feel bad about myself. They just like hate people here; this isn't breakfast republic. I was recently in a traumatic model train accident which cost me emotionally and financially. I shouldn't be made to feel like im doing something wrong when getting a burrito. I will be like can i get a burrito and they'll be like idk can you. Then they will ignore you and pretend like they are working but i can see that they're pretending to buss and really just watching Rob Dyrdek' Fantasy Factory. Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory is a show that ran for seven seasons and is by the guy who made Ridiculous. It's essentially a show where he comes up with some concept or something and uses MTV money to finance it. Think Mr. Beast videos but with more skateboarding and less children. Great and consistent food. Friendly staff. I come here multiple times a week and am never disappointed. The entire team here is always doing a great job, I see how busy they get and the food quality never suffers. They always have great tasting food. I have seen them go above and beyond, helping the community as well when people need help. That type of behavior starts at the top and runs all the way down across the entire staff. I see someone with an anonymous name below left a mean review for Dina - odd. Insulting someone through a yelp review left by an anonymous name, using mean words, and directly calling someone out says more about the anonymous person leaving the review than it does about the person they are trying to call out. Sorry Wee-man, I'm a huge fan, but the tacos were not good. The person helping us was not friendly and didn't speak English that well. THATS OKAY, I will let that one slide. Just give me the finished product. ...but it was the finished product that was even worse than the service. The meat was not fresh nor marinated well. The salsa was bland. It was just bad food. That's all I can say. The food was sub-par. It lacked excitement. It did not demand me to eat it. I felt like my taste buds were violated. Man, I would give it 3.5 stars if I could. Lol. I used to adore this place back in high school... It was like a low-key Chipotle that us Californians knew about. And don't get me wrong. This is probably the best one I've found. Have been to a few other Chronic Taco locations and didn't care for it, but this one was actually pretty decent. The inside is very casual of course, great place for a quick lunch. Try any of the burritos really and you won't be disappointed, and the shrimp tacos were really solid as well. For years, I've been able to order the shredded beef taco combo and substitute the drink for a small guacamole. Every manager before has allowed it without issue. Recently, whenever this manager is working, she refuses the substitution, even if an employee already approved it. I don't drink sugary drinks, so forcing a drink I won't use makes no sense, especially when past managers were flexible. Her approach feels dismissive and unprofessional, and it's disappointing to see customer service handled this way. I hope ownership takes a look at what's happening here, because this used to be one of my favorite spots, and I'd love to see it return to the level of service it once had.

If you come here, bring sunscreen, enjoy the ocean view, and possibly pack provisions for the wait. At least the Pacific Ocean knows how to keep things moving.
