I haven't been the a Baja Fresh in a long time! Our boss took us here today for lunch and it didn't disappoint! We had the guacamole and chips which were amazing and I had shrimp tacos! It was crowded so super busy!! I will be back!

The food here is alright Tried their carne Asada, fish, and rib eye taco. Not as flavorful and juicy like other authentic place. Also had their shrimp ceviche which didnt have much flavor and their carne asada nachos (cheese harden when it got to the table) Not sure if I was suppose to eat something else here but I was told that everything here is good.... In my opinion its alright. Missing some flavors im used to.

The tacos were just ok. I tried the carne asada taco and charbroiled chicken taco. The tacos came with salsa already, lot of toppings. I wish it had more flavor. The green sauce made it better though. The pico de gallo was very light too, but very fresh. My friends really love the combo with the enchilada though! The inside was super spacious, lots of tables, outside as well, with shade over the tables. The waiter was very friendly. He delivered the food and cleared the plates from the table too.

This is my favorite place for Mexican food. It reminds me of the incredible food I had in San Blas, Mexico. The best shrimp tacos anywhere! My only pet peeve is their use of an industrial cleaner to mop the floors, and they spray down the tables with another high power cleaner. It makes the room smell. Every time we go there, they mop the floor with this cleaner that stinks up the whole place. Along with that, the workers go around and spray a cleaner on all the tables and door. The spay carries in the air and lands on my rice. Please use another cleaner without that smell. Ugh.

I came here after dark, hungry, expecting something comforting. Instead, I got robbed under fluorescent lights. Three carne asada tacos. That's it. No drinks. No sides. No atmosphere worth noting. Just three small tacos that somehow cost thirty dollars. Each taco was $6.50 -- and they had the audacity to charge $3 for a smear of guacamole so small it could have been applied with a Q-tip. It felt sinister. The kind of quiet robbery where everyone around you pretends it's normal -- like we've all agreed to let the place drain our wallets while smiling at the counter. You can almost feel the contempt in the pricing. This isn't a restaurant anymore. It's a toll booth for the hungry, run by people who clearly despise their own customers. No warmth, no value, just corporate greed wrapped in a tortilla. I left angry. Not just at the price -- but at the insult. The sheer arrogance of it. If this is what they call "dinner," I'd rather go hungry. Baja Fish Taco, congratulations. You've achieved something rare: turning loyal locals into lifelong boycotters.

This place is such a great hidden gem! I've been coming here for years for the Shrimp Tacos, Chips and Guacamole, and of course the salsa bar. The service is always great, and everyone that I've encountered dining has always been super polite. Definitely check this place out if you're looking for some great food!

5 Stars if they bring back the BLACKENED CHICKEN!! Baja fish tacos had the best blackened chicken I have ever had. Deliciously juicy tender blackened chicken. I still dream of it!!! Everything here is really good but the Blackened Chicken was the BEST!!! If you know you know, they have taken it off the menu years ago then brought it back a few years back just to take it away again!!!

This restaurant is AMAZING. It was recommended by a friend of a friend and blew us away. We read the reviews about how good the shrimp tacos were, so 3 of us got them. They were incredible! Full of flavor, yet not too spicy for my sister and I who have a low spice tolerance 2 of us got the combo plate which comes with rice and beans, and there were more than enough rice and beans to share. Between the 7 of us, we had the shrimp, fish, and carne asada burritos, and shrimp, fish, and carne asada tacos which were all thoroughly enjoyed by our party. The staff were very kind and serviceable. The restaurant is clean and has a cute coastal vibe. We will definitely be adding this to our Newport roster and be back soon!

I don't eat here enough and I should because I love all their tacos. It's a good size and it's always a long line when I come here but I got here at a good time. Their fresh salsa bar is always my favorite too, their pico is just so perfect, I can't get it like that anywhere else. I always get the grilled and fried fish taco here and that was enough for me that day. I usually get 4 tacos but this time, I just needed 2 since I was gonna be busy that day.

    Baja salad with sirloin

Delicous food, the produce was so fresh and delicious. I got the baja salad with sirloin wich was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing and my dad git the shrimp burrito wich had huge fresh delicous shrimp.

I stopped here on a weekday afternoon and it wasn't very busy. They are gluten free friendly and the person who took my order at the counter recommended the grilled/blackened fish and shrimp tacos on corn tortillas. I was really disappointed by both because they were quite bland. I didn't find any of their salsas to be spicy. I had to add Tapatío for more spice. I enjoyed their hibiscus iced tea. The staff was very friendly and stayed on top of clearing the tables, making sure everything was clean and picked up, etc., so that made for a nice dining experience.

We were so lucky to have him as our server that night. We looked forward to seeing him again serve as in the future. We all loved the food that we ordered and finished it however on my daughter plate after she ate all her food found a small piece of paper. She mentioned it to one of the server who was taking all our empty plates and in a second the manager was there in front of us. We were all so surprised to see him standing there in an instant- he was cordial, attentive and was apologetic that a piece of paper was found on the plate. Service is definitely 100%. I wish they included pricing on their posts to allow us to budget better before being on site. They are very much on the pricier side but for the most part that is justifiable with what you get. I picked up some spot prawns at $45/lb, 4 pieces ran me about $25 but those were so fresh I would get them again. I also picked up scallops. I did expect them to be fresh but they were completely frozen so I am not sure when they harvested them and the scallops themselves were a tad on the smaller side, at about $33 for a 17oz bag that seemed a bit steep. Most of their fish range from $32-35 per pound and their Mexican white shrimp were $25/lb. I do very much plan to come back but this would not be a frequent stop for me

Also very much chatting with each other and even when making eye contact with servers for assistance was ignored. Food wise order the dozen oyster chef choice, grill cheese, chowder fries, ahi and lobster taco Dozen oyster there were 3 types all on the brinier side with the final ones more brinier than others and accompany with ginger 2 types of chili sauce and pickle red onion Chowder fries a bit on the salty side with some bites but had a nice chowder and fries ratio With little heat from the Fresno chili that were garnished Tacos were served with in a blue corn tortilla, for $6 each on the smaller side like a street taco and flavors wise pretty basic, didn't stand out very much Grill cheese with 4 pieces very buttery toast nice crunch and gooey melty cheeses Overall pretty decent food but wasn't impress with the service and though short handed, there wasn't a sense of urgency to assist, minimal acknowledgment, and wasn't checked back on after food was dropped off as others were being asked around us Also noticed in their food kitchen window as dishes were waiting to be picked up there was a plate of burger and fries and someone from the kitchen twice with barehand taking bunches of fries from a already prepare plate to be delivered. Seemed very odd. Unsure if would return to this establishment.

We were immediately greeted with a warm welcome from Jason. He was warm, charismatic and informative. My husband and I both ordered the quarter pound of lobster roll and a small clam chowder. The lobster roll had a generous amount of big chunks of fresh, flavorful lobster. The roll was not overpowered by too much sauce. You can taste the lobster and butteriness. It was pure perfection and it was how I believe a lobster roll should taste. The clam chowder was also perfect in flavor and had a good amount of clams. It tasted homemade and not overly salty. Luke's Lobster in Balboa was another birthday treat from the wife, and she wanted to take me here…read morebecause she knows I love lobster and crab rolls, or really just lobster and crab in general. Now here's the thing, I've never really had a great lobster roll. It's always been so overpriced for the lack of flavor and just never really worth it. Luke's was the first and truly one of the best places I've had a lobster roll, and honestly it was kinda shocking. We ended up getting the flight, which came with a crab roll, a shrimp roll, and a lobster roll, and all three were phenomenal. But what completely shocked me was that the shrimp roll was a hundred percent the best of the bunch. The butter it came with, that pure savory sweet ocean saltiness, the bread, the butteriness of it, I wish I had ten of them. I could have sat there and eaten all of them right then and there. The shrimp roll was number one for sure, which really surprised me, but it was that good. The lobster roll was a solid second. Great amount of lobster too, and I mean this isn't the kind of place that gives you two or three sad little pieces, they pack a whole handful of lobster in there, which I really appreciated. If you're paying a pretty penny for it, at least they came through with a generous amount. The crab roll though, that one completely fell short. I wasn't too bummed since I was way more locked in on the lobster, but the crab just wasn't there. I don't know if the crab itself just didn't have the flavor this catch around, but it tasted like watered down salt with a little bit of butter. So yeah, that one was not great. Lobster and shrimp though, wonderful. The clam chowder was also really good. I added a little pepper just to give it an extra kick and a little bite, and it was great. The staff were so sweet too, super welcoming and helpful, especially since it was our first time and we had no clue what to get. We hit them with a bunch of questions just to get their insight and hear what their favorites were, and they were awesome about it, really welcoming and just genuinely sweet and helpful. This is definitely one I'd love to go back to, and I highly recommend it to anybody looking for a good lobster roll. Truly a good place in my opinion.
