Instead of receiving my correct I received a bean and cheese burrito with rice and not only did they forget my carnitas but they added carnitas to the steak burrito and never added steak. I went there today. The food was fine as usual. The issue came up when I went to the restroom. The door had a hook that you could use to open the door instead of the handle. I decided to use it. Went to the Baja Fresh for lunch today and ordered Baja Burrito Steak. What I got was Baja Burrito Pot Roast. It was not steak. It was overdone. It was stringy like a pot roast or shredded beef. So if you need food fast that isn't greasy, high calorie fast food, Baja Fresh is the perfect choice. If you are watching carbs, get the Baja Bowl. All the goodness of a burrito in a bowl. Rice, veggies, beans - and you can add protein And other sides. While my taco preference strongly leans to Mexican Street tacos - meat, chopped onion, cilantro, lime - their Tex-Mex soft tacos hit the spot. They add jack cheese, cabbage slaw and pico de gallo for a tasty and flavorful combo. Located right off I-5 at the Lower Boones Ferry exit, they are in the same strip mall as Safeway. For me it's super convenient Since good friends of live close to there, so this is an easy stop to grab lunch or dinner. During Covid they are extra careful, following all precautions, cleaning between customers, proving hand sanitizer and masks required. I felt very safe. The employees are energetic and friendly. Of course I didn't realize until I got home so it's a little hard to chastise at this point other than yelp! So 2 ultimos, no Mexicano, no enchilado style, way overcooked chips (resorted to tostitos, way better tonight). Total waste. I will give them credit though! They got 5 of the 6 salsa sides correct! I went here for my first time today and it was great. Great customer service. I didn't feel rushed to order. Restaurant was clean. Yes you can dine in. They have tables outside . Would recommend. Update: came here for my second time and I received my food as I finished filling my drink cup! Went to sit down and I forgot a fork so I went to grab one and the had another dish ready for me because they said they messed and I hadn't even realized it yet! Amazing. When I was a kid growing up in Michigan during the 2000s and early 2010s, I loved dining at the Baja Fresh in Troy. But, the place closed by 2015. I was ecstatic when I found this place south of Portland off of I-5. The food at this location was delicious, and I had it 6 times during my stay in the Portland area from May 29th to June 2nd, 2023. I ordered diablo burritos (shrimp, wahoo, chicken, and roasted veggies) with sliced avocado added into it. Wahoo is a type of white fish. The roasted veggies was green & red bell peppers and onions. I ordered the chicken quesadilla and chicken taquito, which were also quite flavorful. I ordered the chicken tortilla soup twice here. It's my favorite tortilla soup out of any place I've dined at. It's a savory brown broth with chicken, onions, chips, & avocado. The guacamole is the best out of any fast food Mexican restaurant. The salsas offered at the bar are excellent. Lastly, I love the fact the tortilla chips and freshly made. The service was quick and professional. The ambiance is spacious, clean, and modern. This restaurant is better than Chipotle, Qdoba, and even El Pollo Loco. I strongly recommend trying the Baja Fresh in Lake Oswego. It would be quite a pleasant surprise for fast food Mexican. read more

It might seem silly to write a (long) review about how someone just doing their job can leave a lasting impression on you, but that's what this is going to be. Specifically, this review is about Talia D., the cashier who helped me when I stopped in on my way from work one evening. I travel a lot for work and often find myself doing little other than visiting my clients and staying in my hotel room when I do, with the exception of the days I arrive when I do some shopping for the week and sometimes pick up dinner. This was one of those evenings. I stopped at the Baja Fresh #30455 in Lake Oswego because I knew I wanted quick Mexican food, but I didn't want one of the less healthy options (taco bell, del taco, etc). However, in the past, I have maybe been to a Baja Fresh once in my whole life, so while I was familiar with the style of food, I wasn't at all familiar with the menu. After having been up since 4am starting my day in Nevada, then flying to Oregon to work my shift, check into my hotel, and then go grocery shopping, when I arrived at the Baja Fresh around 7pm my brain was barely functioning, and I found the menu pretty overwhelming. Thankfully it didn't really have to function, because Talia was at the register ready to take over. She was cheerful, ready to answer any dumb questions I might have (and they probably were), help me navigate the menu, decide on what to get, and fulfil any extra menu/food/sides requests I had (and I did). She didn't flinch for a second, she just handled it, and within seconds my order was in and ready to go. The best part was that Talia could have been like any other fast-food employee at the end of her shift, but she wasn't, she was exceptional. Most other people in fast food seem like they are just trying to get their day over with and a customer like me with a bunch of questions operating on 4 hours of sleep and a day of travel would be an inconvenience. I didn't feel like an inconvenience at all, I felt like I was getting exactly what I asked for and that it was no trouble at all. I felt like maybe that the only person I saw that day that wasn't at my job (as I travel for work so I don't know anyone in the area) was actually kind of happy to see me. In addition to my personal experience, Talia just did an all around amazing job even behind the counter. I saw her do nearly everything other than go in the kitchen and make the food herself. She took the order, made sure I got everything I needed, remembered to tell me where to get my drink, got the extra stuff I requested and sent me on my way. Talia is perhaps the most useful and exceptional employee in the building, or is at least heading in that direction, and is probably great to work with as a coworker too. I would not be surprised if she is promoted or picked up for a better opportunity in the near future because people like her are rare. I hope her managers take notice because every business needs to try and keep people like Talia, and the way you do that is ensuring they are appreciated and taken care of the way she appreciates and takes care of her customers. read more

Baja Fresh is pretty good!! Good prices, lots of options and lots of yummy salsa options! My favorite is the sweet mango salsa! I LOVE mango! I got the burrito bowl this time and it is plenty of food!! AND they recently started carrying Beyond Meat for Vegetarians which I got and loved! It was super yummy! Baja Fresh is always clean and their workers are always kind and it's always relatively busy because it's really good and a pretty quick in and out place to eat! The salad or salsa bar was very clean. No lettuce or other foods hanging around on the counters. Can tell staff really does their job well. Tacks were fully cooked and tasted like some of the great taco trucks downtown. I believe I spent nine bucks and it was worth every penny. This Baja Fresh location has changed me for the better. the service is immaculate every single time I walk in the door & being greeted by Israel is like receiving a nice warm hug when you need it most. And don't even get me started on the food-- I wake up every morning craving the bean and cheese burrito enchilado style, which will be the main meal at my wedding someday. I have been coming here at least once a week for the past 10 years and I can honestly say I have never once been disappointed. Also the diet coke is EXTRA spicy from here like i'm not kidding you can't find a better diet coke in all of the PNW. If you are looking to have the best experience of your life look no further. This location is always clean and the staff is always nice. Even when it gets busy the staff does a great job and my food always comes out great! I've had one or two small mess ups but it's always when they are busy and never a huge deal, easily fixed! Ordered the Baja Bowl for the first time and made a point twice to say no onions. There were still some small raw diced onions in it but only a few. Like someone started to add them but stopped and left them. The roasted vegetables in the Baja bowl also had onions which I would understand but I think they should have called it roasted onions instead of roasted vegetables. It was about 80% onions and 20% green peppers. By the time I fished them all out there wasn't a lot left of the "bowl". Also, cheese doesn't even come with the Baja (Onion) Bowl. You have to pay extra for that. Won't be ordering that one again. read more

This place rocks!! I am a Med rep and I do a lot of Dr. lunches. Feeding an entire office can be tricky, but every time I have called this location to help with this feat (and I call often) they have NEVER disappointed! They put together the best fajita packs with a mixture of meat, beans, and tortillas, salad, and all the fixin's. There is always something for everyone... And always a fan favorite. I've called other Baja Fresh locations to put together lunches for me but they never do as good a job as this particular location does. The other times I've used other locations there is something left to desired. Not at this place... it's always spot on, perfect portions, and reliable service with a smile. This place was filled with cheerful staff as soon as I walked in. This place is super clean and plenty of seats to enjoy your meal. The cost is pretty good too. About $10 bucks for a fresh Burrito or a few street tacos with rice and beans. The salsa bar is great! Self serve and if you're like me and eat all the freshly made, warm chips. I have complained on several occassions on the misrepresentation of the $2 off if you take the survey on next visit. I atttempted to take the survey and it is not available. I have complained to the manger at your store stating this is false advertisement and he had no answer for me. I asked for the $2 off and he referred me to the owner. In fact, the cashier did not even know what I was talking about. Obivisoulsy, no one reads what the receipt states. Until this is removed I am requesting to receive the $2 off since it is printed on the receipt. I have been to your restuarant several times and you have not made good on applying the $2 off.
