Fun little cheese shop- my husband loved their blue cheese.

A personal approach to visiting Valle de Guadalupe, Rosarito, or Tijuana. I set up our private tour with Ray and he was very accomodating to book it just a couple weeks in advance. We met up with our tour guide Effrain at cafe near the pedestrian border crossing and he drove us to several wineries, a cheese shop, a restaurant for lunch, and even to a special cafe where they offer fresh columbian coffee and housemade churros. Effrain had the perfect balance of showing personalized attention and also giving us the space to enjoy each moment together. He was always available and had a great sense of what we would enjoy and offered things at the perfect time. He was the embodiment of the perfect host- we'd love to hang with him again.

78 Five star reviews do not lie. Why write a review when there are so many positive ones? Because they deserve it! What a great time we had with Baja Wine And Dine Tours! My first time I booked with them I had to cancel. Ray was quick to offer my deposit back, but I said hold onto it so I am committed to re-booking. Thank goodness we did. He and his team were so great to work with and service was top notch. It all started with the comfortable air conditioned Van, professional driver and mimosas on the way to the Valley. We were whisked away to 4 different stops which included lunch. All the wineries were delicious and fun. I definitely recommend Ray and Baja Wine And Dine tours if you are considering going to Valle De Guadalupe. They can accommodate all size parties. We just booked another trip with them!

I cannot say enough good things about this tour! I have been traveling to Valle De Guadalupe with this company at least twice a year for 7 years. If you are visiting San Diego and have a passport- this tour is a must do! You walk across the border and your English speaking driver is right there looking for you. You get in a nice clean van and have a welcome glass of champagne and you're off! You visit multiple, beautiful wineries with delicious food and wine. Everything is arranged for you. There is a place to sit and service immediately. I swear some of my favorite memories are on this tour. Really amazing tour and company. Pick them. You won't be disappointed.

Ray is amazing!! He really knows his wineries and food. This was my 3rd trip with him in the last 5 years and can't wait to go again. We are already planning another trip in June. He took us to some really amazing places that I know we wouldn't find on our own. Each trip has been this way and he knows all the new places. You can tell he really works with the wineries because he knows everyone there and they were all very welcoming of him and his guests. He speaks perfect English and Spanish. He drives safely and we all felt very comfortable with him on the roads. The van is clean and nice too! Highly highly suggest doing this tour. You won't regret it. I'd give 6 stars if I could.

If you have been wanting to visit Valle Guadalupe (winery's) look no further! These guys are professionals. Efrain, was our tour guy for the day. He was a kind and attentive professional young man. He drove us to 3 locations... never felt rush and was very patient with our party of 9. It's a place to make memories with friends and loved ones. The vibe is on a different level, you will definitely have a great time. Five stars and more, I highly recommend this company. Gracias a Efrain, por un hermoso viaje eres una excelente persona.

The service was WONDERFUL! I went April 3, 2021. The owner (Ray) was very thorough with his instructions he was willing to answer any questions we had. I forgot our driver's name but he was super chill. They brought us champagne to drink while we were in the van. Then they allowed us to stop at a liquor store to buy a bottle of tequila. We were able to customize our wine tour by going to Puerto Nuevo for lobster. Everyone destination was delicious friendly and we had great service. Most importantly our driver made us feel comfortable and safe. I will recommend this tour guide to anybody experiencing Mexico for the first time. Do not worry about the language barrier your driver speaks perfect English and most of the menus are in English as well! The cheese destination was phenomenal and they even allowed us to customize our tour to add an extra one stop.

My friends and I weren't too sure of how the process would be since they picked us up after we walked across the border. We booked our rides through WhatsApp and the communication was super easy. They were super responsive, and the day before our designated rides, they shared the driver's number for us to connect directly. Our driver down to Valle was named Elias and made the whole process so simple! He picked us right outside of where we came out after crossing the border. He was super friendly and wanted to make sure we were comfortable for the drive. He told us a little bit about Valle and how he's lived there for 25 years. On my way back, I had a different driver, who was Natalie. She was super nice and the ride back was so quick, probably because it was the morning and traffic wasn't too bad in Tijuana yet. She was helpful in directing me to find the line to cross the border. Without the direction from her, I would have definitely been confused. They made this whole process so seamless! They were on time and available for all the questions I had leading up to the rides as well. I will for sure use them in the future any time I'm traveling somewhere driving distance in Mexico!

But over the last two decades they have made large strides in quality with new modernization techniques. Besides all of the wine makers that have been here for generations, others (Spain, France, and Italy) from around the world have joined in wine making in the area. The area has all of the basic ingredients (proper climate and soil) needed to make great wine. The area sits in the same latitude as the great wine making areas of the Mediterranean. As a result, now I am a big fan of the area's wine. Now many compare the area to Tuscany Italia before the big tourist rush occurred. The greater area is also home to many Michelin rated restaurants with a great ocean/farm to table menu (carta). Organic and sustainability are fully represented in restaurants as well. If you love seafood, then this place is heaven because of the abundance of fresh seafood from both the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific. I predict that once the new airport in Ensenada is built then this place is going to explode with tourism. Currently, having to fly into Tijuana then take a bus or private transport has been the only way to reach this area from most places in the US with the exception of southern California. People in southern California are lucky enough to drive down for a weekend because it's just that close to them. It's the equivalent of people from Chicago spending a weekend in wine country in Michigan, Indiana, or Wisconsin. In all honesty there is no comparison because most wine in the Midwest is mediocre at best. The problem in the Midwest is the climate extremes which are not suitable to most popular wine varietals. Even when I do find wine from the Midwest that I like, it usually has at least $50-$60 price tag. At a typical grocery store in Spain or Portugal very good bottle of wine is sometimes cheaper than a bottle of water! Under $10 a bottle pricing gets you very good wine, above that you can have even better quality. The winery is beautiful even in the winter. I like to visit in the winter because although it's not super warm here, I go from wearing a winter jacket to wearing a light jacket or sweater. The nights can drop into the 40s which is still much better than a winter polar vortex back home. There is a lot less people, therefore, I can also get into the best restaurants in the area. My rental flat had absolutely no neighbors until the last day when it was time to leave. The isolation was very nice because the grounds are beautiful and very full of life. A huge assortment of birds make this their winter getaway from the harsh winters up north. Citrus fruit was in season down here and the neighboring property had an orchard of trees filled with oranges. The property has a few nice pathways to walk after mealtimes. I also enjoyed the outdoor wine tour which explores the different varietals fields with an enthusiastic guide that was quick witted with jokes. The wine pourings that accommodate the tour were delicious and wisely chosen. I also opted to take the wine cave tour right after the outside tour. How was the cave tour? It was disappointing and frustrating. First of all, as I patiently waited to be taken down to the cave from their gift shop area they forgot about me. They have a list of who is supposed to go down and yet they still went down without everyone?!? Finally a cashier notices that I'm just walking around not shopping and asked me if I was waiting for someone. I told him that I was waiting for the cave tour to begin. He got a hold of the tour guide who had already gone down with some of the group and he came up to retrieve us. Those that were already in the cave, already had been served food that was optional to order with the tasting. After several pourings in the previous tour, yes, I was ready to have some food to lessen the impact of more pourings. Also, they had a nice selection of items that would complement the pourings. Somehow, they forgot about me again, and I noticed others were getting a different presentation than I was on the same tour. Okay, now a sense of frustration is overcoming me and I mention the oversights to the guide. He lied to me and told me that the others had a different level of wine tasting. This disorganized tour was also set up backwards because there should have been a walking tour of the fermentation area first then tastings afterwards. Besides the bad cave tour that I definitely don't recommend. Everything else was great with the exception of the cold washroom on cold nights. They have very nice employees, beautiful grounds, very good breakfast, and a great dinner restaurant called Latitude on the property. Would I come back? Yes, because besides a few frustrating moments the rest was great.

Service here took a long time to just get menus and initial drinks. We also ordered food that was no longer available. When we did order, the food took near an hour to come to our table. They do have a "Michelin rated" restaurant inside the building, curious to see what the service there is. Overall, i would say there are so many other wineries around Valle de Guadalupe that offer better services/food and drinks.

I've done quite a few wine tours, and unfortunately this one was my least favorite. It was also the first wine tour I've done that only visited two locations, which was a bit of a letdown. The first winery had a nice selection, we got three wine tastings. The Burgundy was my favorite from The Heritage flight. The property itself was beautiful to walk around, with amazing scenery and lots of great photo spots. We also stopped by the sweets shop and picked up a few treats. There were also surrounding shops near the winery. Personally, they weren't really my style, but that comes down to taste. If you like clothing and home décor, you might enjoy it more. Clothing prices looked to start around $50 and went up from there. The home décor shop was very cute with lots of handmade items, mostly in the $20 range and higher. I skipped the candle shop due to allergies. The charcuterie board was a nice touch and came with a good variety of items. The second wine location included five tastings. I personally wasn't a fan of the wines here. One person in our group ordered a glass from the regular menu and shared it, it was much better than the tasting options, and most of the group seemed to agree this stop was a bit of a disappointment. That said, the views were absolutely incredible. The pizza included in the tour was a highlight for me, I had the vegetarian, and it was really good. The vegetables were fresh and crisp. There wasn't much walking around at this stop, so we mostly stayed at the table and ate. My favorite parts of the tour was the food and the tour guide. I'm glad I tried it and can check another wine region off my list, even if it wasn't my favorite experience overall. For reference, we were picked up at 9:45 AM and dropped off around 3:00 PM.
