We recently visited Ensenada and Valle de Guadalupe, and Baja Winery Tours provided all transportation and wine tours for our trip. There were 7 of us on the trip, and everyone had a fantastic time in no small part due to the effort that Joaquin, Marleny, and our drivers (Abel, Edgar, and Carlos) put into making our experience very special. Working with Joaquin to plan the trip was seamless and straightforward. He provided extremely useful information, and when our trip approached he and Marleny finalized the itinerary and provided us with concise yet very important information on how to cross the border and meet our driver. I had never crossed the border on foot, but it was pretty seamless. It's about a 1.5 - 2 hour drive from the border to Ensenada, and I didn't feel comfortable doing that drive on my own, so having Baja Winery Tours provide transportation was essential and eliminated the stress of getting around. Baja Winery Tours set up all the reservations at wineries and restaurants in Valle de Guadalupe. The wineries we visited were on point, and the food was absolutely spectacular. I was glad that we were able to have everything arranged, and be high quality, without having to do a ton of research. On our last full day, our dinner ran a little long and then we hit a bit of traffic getting back to the hotel. Our driver handled these issues with grace and full understanding. I would highly recommend having Baja Winery Tours provide all the logistics and travel if you're planning on visiting the area. To the owner who wrote me back in regards to my review I did read the website and check my sources before reserving to go on your tour. On your website it indicates, 6 PERSON MINIMUM! Tour runs after we get a total of 6 signups. However what I was referring to was the email I received which stated " You're reservation for Public Taste of Baja Tour on Saturday, July 1, 2023 for 2 tickets has been cancelled. If you have any questions feel free to call 619-535-9994 or email bookings@bajawinerytours.com." Before assuming your customers are not reading the information on your business site, make sure you take the time to ask questions to understand exactly what they are referring to. The condescending annotation in your reply is another reason why I would never go on this tour. Edit: you could have said what you updated your message with in the beginning rather than making it seem as if your customers did not read the information that was given on your site. All explanations would have been cleared up then, however you wanted to come and try to reiterate the message as if their was a lack of clarity. read more

Baja Winery Tours Was an amazing door to door service and such a great treat after the last year. They picked us up at our doorstep, drove us across the border to the Mexican wine country for two wine tastings, a mezcal tasting and a coursed lunch with wine paring and then drove us right back to our doorstep. They picked beautiful locations, with a good variety of wine and a delicious and vibrant lunch. Dan and Joaquin were so fun and friendly and did a great job keeping all 20 of us on time all while ensuring we had the best day. Our experience with Baja Winery Tours, and Joaquin especially, was one for the books. I am SO thankful to have found this company to pick us up from the border and show us the best time in Valle de Guadalupe. I can't recommend their services enough! The shuttle was so nice (very clean), great sound system for a bachelorette weekend, and the driver Abel was very kind and professional. The most important detail is that I was able to book with them less than 24 hours in advance because our other shuttle company fell through the day before we were supposed to leave on our trip. What a blessing in disguise because Joaquin showed us an incredible time in the Valley - he knows EVERYONE and got us into the best places when another reservation fell through. He also made us feel very safe and welcome throughout the trip. He went above and beyond by escorting us across the border and giving us an authentic experience we couldn't have had without him. Amazing tour!! I decided to celebrate my bachelorette weekend in Valle de Guadalupe and I couldn't be more pleased with the service we got from Joaquin! He was awesome!! My friends and I don't know our way across the border, and with the safety issues in Mexico we decided to book a tour from San Diego. That was definitely the way to go. We were able to relax on our way there and drink freely without worrying about a thing. We visited three wineries and they were all great! Our favorite were Casa Frida and Finca Altozano. We had an amazing meal, which was included in our package. Joaquin was very friendly and accommodating. He made our experience extra special because he knew I was celebrating my bachelorette. He even served as our photographer and took some fabulous pictures of our group! That's a plus. I would highly recommend his services. He is fun and super cool! Hello everyone, this review speaks for my wife Patricia and myself. We chose Baja winery tours because it was recommended to us by a relative. I have to say it was better than we expected. Our driver Mario was very cool. He was knowledgeable, kept us entertained in the van, pointed out different landmarks, and warned us on what types of food not to buy frm street vendors :) We visited 3 wineries (Viñas de Garza) by far our favorite. We ate a 5 star meal at the Finca Altozano and the food was excellent! And Mario was cordial enough to make a pit stop to and from the winery for some brief relief and snacks. My husband and I did the Valle de Guadalupe your in Ensenada to celebrate Valentine's Day. Mario & Rene were our tour guides & they were fantastic! You guys are awesome! Thank you for everything! We had an amazing day with a tour to Valle de Guadalupe. Joachin was our guide and he planned out the whole itinerary, met us at the parking lot on the US border crossing side, guided us through the crossing and then off we went in a nice comfortable van. They said it would be unforgettable and unforgettable it was. Waking up really early on a Saturday morning is a beautiful way to start. The meeting place was some random parking lot. 15 minutes after when we were supposed to be on our way, with no phone calls or clear instructions we call them and are dismissively told "yeah sorry, 10 more minutes" 20 minutes past that we call again,"yeah sorry, 10 more minutes" 30 minutes past that there is no longer any answer to our calls... We waited over an hour in this parking lot before we gave up. If you are a fan of parking lots then I would recommend this, if not then no. read more

I planned a 30th birthday weekend in San Diego for my best friend, and included in this plan was a Baja Mexico wine country tour with Matt and Joaquin. I will say, I was a little wary about traveling in Mexico in general, although most of the region in Baja is extremely safe! It still felt much more secure to have a driver and a tourguide, and not have to worry about getting lost (or driving after drinking large volumes of wine). The planning process was easy. Matt was quick to respond to phone calls and emails. The booking process was easy as well (payment in full to reserve the spots, no problem). We were picked up at 9am at Old Town, continued on to a beautiful coastline drive (we went around Tijuana, not through), and stopped at 4 wineries plus a fantastic lunch spot. Normally the tour includes 3 wineries, but one of them had very limited tastings that day so Joaquin was kind enough to add another on to our trip! It's important to note that Baja wine country is BEAUTIFUL. I have been to Napa/Sonoma, and Paso Robles, and Temecula... and this is easily comparable to the beauty of Napa Valley. Plus the people are so kind and welcoming. And the wine - so delicious. Baja wineries focus more on reds than whites, so most of our tastings were reds. Our group purchased multiple bottles (though keep in mind, California residents can only carry one bottle per person back across into the USA - so if you have an out-of-state license, bring it with you!). We were a group of 4 girls in our late 20's to early 30's, and as this was a group tour there were two additional folks on our trip (a lovely couple, probably in their 40's). Everyone got along great; I think Matt and Joaquin make an effort to make sure each group is 'similar' (e.g. not placing a group of retired couples with a group of ladies celebrating a 30th birthday). We had SUCH a fun and relaxed day. We returned a little late (around 8pm, whereas I think they normally get back around 6pm) but this was our own fault, since we insisted on stopping for tequila and tamales on the way home before we crossed back into the USA ;) Thanks Matt and Joaquin!!! read more

I don't know where to begin. I don't travel much but am always looking for an opportunity to visit the foreign country in my back yard, Mexico. I stumbled upon this tour company on IG. I emailed a few questions and concerns and received prompt replies. Mario was our driver, guide, and companion for the day. Pick up was seamless. A minimum of 6 is required for a tour. My friend, and a young couple made our group. Two people canceled the night before. Already winning! The drive was beautiful & narrated by Mario. He's very knowledgeable about the region and was able to answer all of our questions. There are over 100 wineries in the Valle, and he mixes it up with each run. A drive down unpaved dirt roads is necessary to reach pretty much any winery. If you get motion sick, come prepared with what you'll need to get through it. Plastic bags, ginger ale, etc., in case you get queasy or physically ill. It's no joke. Our 1st stop was La Finca, an organic winery. Follow your instinct and purchase your bottle at your first stop! Our second winery stop was Tehal, where we had a lovely lunch. Fish and meat were the options. Both were beautifully prepared. Mario went the extra mile in soooo many ways to make sure our meal was excellent, but I'm not telling! The guides at both La Finca & Tehal were very passionate about their wineries and I learned so much! The lunch was very "farm to table" and the service was excellent. We were very comfortable and well taken care of. Our final stop was Las Nubes. It was obvious that this winery is very popular for it's views. A beautiful facility perched on a foothill. It's more of a wine bar. Not our favorite of the three, but it was fine. We headed back to San Diego and appreciated more of the scenic highway 1 drive. One of our passengers became extremely ill with motion sickness. Mario handled the situation professionally and with care. He continued to engage us in conversation during the border wait. FYI, don't count on Sentry. Every passenger must have one in order to use it. Interestingly enough, the Sentry lines were backed up as well. I don't know what that was about. Anyway, 5 stars is the minimum, because I would give this trip 10! The $189 cost plus tax is money well spent. We didn't spend another dime down there, and there was no need to. Do bring a credit or debit card just in case you want to purchase a bottle. They cost $11-20. Check out the Baja Winery Tours website, and book a trip. You'll be happy you did. Wonderful day in Valle de Guadalupe! Our driver knew everything and all of us in the tour group were super comfortable. Even at the border, crossing back into the USA, he was calm and collective. An individual in the tour group is a duplicate on the Homeland Security database. All of us got pulled into secondary and then into tertiary inspection, our tour guide stayed calm and just went with the flow. It is extremely selfish that the other guest knew she was on this database. She knew, for this has happened before while going thru customs. All of us experienced a crossing of the border that should not of happened. Other than that it was an awesome day! read more

We did a private tour with 9 girls, and this far exceeded everyone's expectations. We were a little hesitant about the price at first, but it was well worth every penny. The lunch was something we will never forget, and this tour gave us the opportunity to enjoy a day of friends and wine tasting worry-free. Mario is incredible. Just did the Baja Winery Tour this past weekend for my 30th birthday! We were a group of 7 girls along with 6others. We had the best time. I will say that I did not care for the service at LA Cetto Winery, the wines we good but the service was horrible. They are very popular and busy so they rush everyone in and out. Our driver, Mario, was great! Super knowledgeable and kind. We mentioned that we wanted to buy some cheese for a snack and he went ahead a bought it for the group, simple, but a nice touch. Not only did they accommodate the strict dietary needs of my group, paid notice to which wineries and what type of experience we wanted, and were amazing about things like bathroom breaks...but they also went above and beyond when necessary - helping to load the van with he supplies we purchased, answering questions, and taking us through beautiful vineyards with amazing tasting Baja wines.
