Super kind staff and the black sesame chocolate cake is delicious! SO moist and dense, and the black sesame frosting was just right :)

I added more recent pics and am still a fan of Bake Shop! They've been upping their game with some really tasty and creative cake flavors and other specials! Still a fan of the roasted veggie toast and the biscuit as well. Recent faves include the black sesame caramel & chocolate cake. So moist and a great black sesame flavor which adds the perfect "nuttiness". I also loved one of their recent passionfruit cakes that also had chocolate. My only minor complaint/suggestion: - I wish that their cakes and specials were not as limited -- it seems like they will make 1-2 cakes (max 20 slices?) and then they go really quickly. You can always call to see if they have something left, which is nice, but would be great if things were not so limited. - The line can be long and can take quite a long time and then the wait after you order can be a bit long too. I don't recommend coming here if you want to just grab and go in 5-10 minutes. I know it's a small team (and smaller space) and they are making things fresh, but it would be great if things were a tad quicker :)

Went here for a quick brunch. Delighted to find this affogato as a daily special drink. Service and ambiance was as great as usual. Such a blessing in the neighborhood to have a place like this in walking distance. Highly recommend quick coffee or small desserts.

Loved the place and the food. Will definitely be back!! They have unique coffee options.

Stopped by with a friend one afternoon and we split a sandwich that was super flavorful, plus a cardamom butter horn - both were absolutely delicious! I honestly couldn't decide which I liked more. We each got a cider chai, which was perfect for the season. It was a bit crowded, so we grabbed a table outside, but I'd love to come back and sit inside next time- the space is so cute and airy. Everything is definitely on the pricier side, but totally worth it for the quality.

Stopped by this bake shop with a friend since we were in the area for a doctor's appointment. Glad we did! Their sandwiches are served on house-made "dough dough" bread, which is also available for purchase by the loaf. I'm usually not a fan of sourdough because of its tanginess, but this one was surprisingly mild--and I actually liked it! For lunch, we ordered the grilled cheese, roasted vegetable toast, and an Italian sandwich. The half grilled cheese was for my 5-year-old, but even that was a generous portion--definitely more than he could finish. My friend had the roasted vegetable toast; while I'm not the biggest fan of warm, soft veggies on toast, the bread itself really saved it. My favorite was the Italian sandwich--fresh veggies added the perfect crunch, and everything came together so well. For drinks, I tried the affogato with black sesame caramel syrup--a unique twist! The espresso was a bit too sour for my taste, but if you enjoy a brighter, more acidic coffee, you might love it. The space inside is spacious yet busy--it gets packed quickly, especially during peak hours. Seating is hit-or-miss since the line moves in waves, but there are a few outdoor tables if you don't mind sitting outside. Overall, a cozy and comfy spot for a weekend sourdough breakfast or a casual lunch. Would I come back? Definitely--for the bread alone!

The interior is cute, and it's great for working as there's plenty of outlets. It has a low noise level, but ofc has that nice coffee shop vibe and sounds of the kitchen/coffee & staff. At 2pm on a Thursday, every other person was there with a laptop. The staff were friendly and quick (no line). And, they have a little neighborhood bookshelf right outside. I'd be glad to come back again.

I came in on a cute Friday afternoon and this place was a bit busy but the vibe is super chill. The music was just LoFi-ish band music but I love the open area and the view straight into their kitchen. Now on to the food. The Black Sesame Salted Cake was LOVELY. I don't have a lot of cakes but I'd say it's the best cake I've had in the past year probably. Sponge was great and there was just the right amount of caramel. My friend got coffee and said it was good as well if that's what you want! Highly recommend this place if you have a sweet tooth.

Finally was able to stop by this great cafe my friend frequents it and I had been wanting to visit. I was in the area on a Sunday for a pop up near by and finally made it!! Staff is so helpful and friendly made me feel very welcome. There is outdoor and indoor seating. Great space for catching up with friends or hanging on your own. I went with the passionfruit soda and one of the specials of the day a Tomato toast which I believe a light spread of ricotta, with fresh cherry tomatoes, basil, drizzle of olive oil and sea salt. Was perfect to start the morning. Something about visiting an establishment that bakes everything in house that makes it truly special. Definitely will be back for coffee and another bite when I'm in the area

We came here for a little cafe workday and it was quite nice! I wish there was more seating though since it was quite cramped and hard to find a spot, and the wifi wasn't working so just some small things. I did like the different menu options so we ended up getting a decaf affogato - which was very yummy and had well developed flavors, and a latte which was a classic tasty option. We finished with the cinnamon roll which SO delicious, had such nice lemony flavors in it which was cool so I really enjoyed that. The staff were also really nice!!

Vietnamese coffee is typically made with robusta beans, which have higher caffeine and a heavier, almost thick mouthfeel compared to arabica. I ordered their Hanoi Egg coffee and also their Kettle Corn coffee, from the server's recommendations. I found myself noticeably surprised by how there was bittnerness, but it was not too harsh. There were some also some chocolatey undertones in the Egg Hanoi, with the egg pudding. I would have preferred less ice, less egg pudding and more drink. Overall though, it did not take away the flavor for me. As for the vibe, there was Kpop music playing in the background when I visited and multiple tables already occupied from people working on their laptops or sitting down to talk. The aesthetic is minimalist chic - steel tables with that warehouse feel. They do not have pastry options so don't come hungry! Drink: (4/5) I was headed to a date nearby but was a bit early so I decided to check out Plus 84 for the first time. As a good baseline, I decided to get the Hanoi egg coffee. I also just visited Vietnam in April where I had lotss of egg coffee so I was really excited to try it back home. For starters, the coffee here has great depth. It's sweet but not overbearingly so. It also has that caramelized note that I usually look for. I'd just say that I wish their egg cream had more flavor. At least in the drink I had, the cream seemed more for texture since it didn't have much flavor by itself. I still enjoyed it though and would definitely get it again. Service: (5/5) Super kind people and I barely had to wait for my order. Other notes: If you're new to Viet coffee, please do not chug it or drink it in one sitting. It is powerful stuff. It's the kind of drink you leisurely sip on!
