    Cinnamon roll
    Huong L.

This is more of a 4.5 star. I was definitely surprised at how good things were here. It's in a residential area so not in the main area and parking is street parking. It's lively though, people were coming and going, so they have quite the foot traffic. We got Cinnamon roll: soooo good. Love the subtle lemon flavor in there. It was sturdy, yet soft and balanced Buckwheat cookie: I'm not big on flat soft cookies but it was good, just not my style. Olive cake with pistachio cream --- really good. It's a little crumbly but not dry, I wish they put more frosting though. Service was standard. I definitely will come back as their stuff was pretty good.

Delicious food and cute ambiance. The kids got cinnamon toast on thick homemade bread. I thoroughly enjoyed my granola and yogurt w berry compote and local honey. My husband got the flagship product- breakfast sandwich, which he loved and I barely got a picture of. The coffee was good and orange juice cold pressed. Clean restroom and friendly staff. The pastries looked fantastic but we were full. Will come again

zuchini bread & $11 pistachio latte

$11 pistachio latte (small size) cute ambience atleast but the steep prices for a small small size is hard to justify. staff also looked at me like my existence was annoying .;-( my ma got a zucchini bread and it was yummy though ! overall not worth it !

The Bake Shop has been my go-to spot for birthday cakes over the past years. ESPECIALLY the black sesame buttercream chocolate cake. It is SO GOOD. I'm happy to say the Bake Shop stayed just as consistent, and the quality hasn't wavered despite the ownership change.

Super kind staff and the black sesame chocolate cake is delicious! SO moist and dense, and the black sesame frosting was just right :)

I added more recent pics and am still a fan of Bake Shop! They've been upping their game with some really tasty and creative cake flavors and other specials! Still a fan of the roasted veggie toast and the biscuit as well. Recent faves include the black sesame caramel & chocolate cake. So moist and a great black sesame flavor which adds the perfect "nuttiness". I also loved one of their recent passionfruit cakes that also had chocolate. My only minor complaint/suggestion: - I wish that their cakes and specials were not as limited -- it seems like they will make 1-2 cakes (max 20 slices?) and then they go really quickly. You can always call to see if they have something left, which is nice, but would be great if things were not so limited. - The line can be long and can take quite a long time and then the wait after you order can be a bit long too. I don't recommend coming here if you want to just grab and go in 5-10 minutes. I know it's a small team (and smaller space) and they are making things fresh, but it would be great if things were a tad quicker :)

Italian Affogato. Limited time drink option

Went here for a quick brunch. Delighted to find this affogato as a daily special drink. Service and ambiance was as great as usual. Such a blessing in the neighborhood to have a place like this in walking distance. Highly recommend quick coffee or small desserts.

Loved the place and the food. Will definitely be back!! They have unique coffee options.

Stopped by with a friend one afternoon and we split a sandwich that was super flavorful, plus a cardamom butter horn - both were absolutely delicious! I honestly couldn't decide which I liked more. We each got a cider chai, which was perfect for the season. It was a bit crowded, so we grabbed a table outside, but I'd love to come back and sit inside next time- the space is so cute and airy. Everything is definitely on the pricier side, but totally worth it for the quality.

Stopped by this bake shop with a friend since we were in the area for a doctor's appointment. Glad we did! Their sandwiches are served on house-made "dough dough" bread, which is also available for purchase by the loaf. I'm usually not a fan of sourdough because of its tanginess, but this one was surprisingly mild--and I actually liked it! For lunch, we ordered the grilled cheese, roasted vegetable toast, and an Italian sandwich. The half grilled cheese was for my 5-year-old, but even that was a generous portion--definitely more than he could finish. My friend had the roasted vegetable toast; while I'm not the biggest fan of warm, soft veggies on toast, the bread itself really saved it. My favorite was the Italian sandwich--fresh veggies added the perfect crunch, and everything came together so well. For drinks, I tried the affogato with black sesame caramel syrup--a unique twist! The espresso was a bit too sour for my taste, but if you enjoy a brighter, more acidic coffee, you might love it. The space inside is spacious yet busy--it gets packed quickly, especially during peak hours. Seating is hit-or-miss since the line moves in waves, but there are a few outdoor tables if you don't mind sitting outside. Overall, a cozy and comfy spot for a weekend sourdough breakfast or a casual lunch. Would I come back? Definitely--for the bread alone!

Blackberry & blueberry cornmeal cake + matcha latte (with black sesame)

The interior is cute, and it's great for working as there's plenty of outlets. It has a low noise level, but ofc has that nice coffee shop vibe and sounds of the kitchen/coffee & staff. At 2pm on a Thursday, every other person was there with a laptop. The staff were friendly and quick (no line). And, they have a little neighborhood bookshelf right outside. I'd be glad to come back again.

I came in on a cute Friday afternoon and this place was a bit busy but the vibe is super chill. The music was just LoFi-ish band music but I love the open area and the view straight into their kitchen. Now on to the food. The Black Sesame Salted Cake was LOVELY. I don't have a lot of cakes but I'd say it's the best cake I've had in the past year probably. Sponge was great and there was just the right amount of caramel. My friend got coffee and said it was good as well if that's what you want! Highly recommend this place if you have a sweet tooth.

The croissant was on the crispier side, especially with the almond crumble on top it was a bit too cripsy for me, but I tend to like soft and flakey pastries so it's probably a matter of taste. The chocolate was slightly dark which worked well with the sweet pastry and filling! Overall I enjoyed the croissant but it was a tad too heavy on the filling and cripsy/crunchy for me.

The soft serve itself is a really creamy and rich vanilla milk flavor. I would say it's closer to that Asian milk flavor if you know what I mean. I think the hojicha syrup is my favorite out of all the ones I've tried so far. It has a really nice roasty flavor and not something you can find at most other places. The matcha I would say is my second favorite. The flavor of the matcha syrup is definitely lighter compared to the hojicha but still is a nice compliment to the soft serve. The black sesame would be the lowest on my list out of the, all since I felt like the flavor was too nutty like it was a blend of sesame and potentially a nut. Their patisserie is stronger than the pastries IMO and while I wouldn't wait in a crazy line, it's still lovely neighborhood spot and perhaps the pastries are a better texture earlier in the day. Highlights: - Miso Roasted White Chocolate Cronut: My favorite item in their current rotation. The cronut was a tad soggy, but the buttery texture inside is still satisfying and the miso white chocolate filling is lusciously smooth and perfectly balanced between savory and sweet. - Blackberry Corn Mousse Cake: Blueberry mousse is the perfect fluffy texture and the corn is very subtle. The sponge cake is light and perfectly contrasts against the bottom layer of crunchies to add a bit of variety. - Blueberry Corn Croissant: Pastry also held up quite well on this one with the outside still being quite crisp. The inner cream unlike the mousse cake is very corn forward with a bit of blueberry jam to balance it out. Skip: - Black Forest Cake: Found the cake to be a bit too firm with the cream filling to be a little bland and too firm as well. Just wanted this to be better than it was. Also, it looks totally different from the photo on their website heads up. - Tomato Basil Croissant: Just found this to be off ratio wise. The only tomato is the 3 small quarters of cherry tomato at the top and a light smear of basil cream. I can see this being very good, but current form factor isn't doing it any favors.
