Very cute and well decorated. I liked their cute offerings. They have an outside space!

Ham and Gruyere sandwich, 2x Coconut Cream Pies, not worth $15 per slice

Was really looking forward to trying this bakery. A Tom Douglas establishment, but left feeling somewhat letdown. The coconut cream pie was good but nothing extraordinary with, and certainly not worth the $15 per slice price! The mochi donuts were also decent, but 6 for $25 just made me feel like this bakery was overpriced for what it was. Left spending over $120 for bakery items and two lattes. Probably won't be visiting again anytime soon. BTW, very limited seating of you plan to eat here.

I used to go to Dahlia Bakery a lot when I visited Seattle more often. My favourite item being the Dahlia Donuts. After several years, I visited Dahlia Bakery again and noticed they had expanded into the space next door (Serious Pie) where the tables could be used for dining-in during the mornings. I liked having this extra space. We picked up a couple things: - Coconut Cream Bite: Good. Classic, and continues to be good. - Dahlia Donuts: OK. Clearly dealing with shrinkflation, because they are roughly half the size they used to be a few years ago. The vanilla mascarpone continues to impress. - Joe's Hash: OK. I like the ingredient combination, but it wasn't as good as I remember. Service is pretty standard for a bakery set-up. I was satisfied with my food, but it's not as good as I remember. I might come back to try some of their newer, more popular items (like the mochi donuts), but no longer crave the Dahlia Donuts

This is amazing bakery. Close to the glass museum and space needle if you are in that area and looking for a snack. One thing to note is there's not much seating. The birthday cake cookie was so delicious and I loved the frosting on the inside. The perfect sugar cookie. Cheesecake also delicious. They are know for the coconut cream pie which we had at a restaurant in Seattle. A lot of local restaurants serve it, it's so good. They have it in multiple sizes and a mini truffle form. All the other baked goods looked amazing as well but I would definitely recommend the birthday cookie. I doubt you will get anything bad here. They also have lunch and breakfast.

THE BEST Apple fritter, sorry I ate before the camera

3.6/5 I've heard about dahlias for years but never took the time to try it. A friend asked me to pick up a pie for a celebration so I finally got my chance. Service - honestly wasn't the best. I walked in and nobody acknowledged me. I walked back and forth in front of the pastry case but the 2 workers who both saw me were pretty focused on what they were doing. After about 2 minutes, one of them walked over and took my order. Ambiance - seats along the window in this cozy little cafe/ bakery. Your instantly met with the pastry case when you walk in. Apparently there's a whole large seating area to the left of the cafe area that I missed somehow, but that makes sense since they have a full food menu. Food - I only ordered 2 items, a coconut cream pie, which even after sitting in the car for 4 hours and then in the hotel fridge for another 4 hours, was still delicious. very flaky crust and a lot of coconut. I also grabbed an apple fritter for the road. It was small and I thought a little pricey ($7), but if I'm being honest, it was probably the best apple fritter I've ever had. And they are my go-to pastry whenever I indulge in one, so I've had a ton. Overall would have ranked higher for me if service was better, but in the end this place delivers where it mattered most. I'll be back to try their other pastry's!

I'm back! ...for more of their Oh Mochi cake doughnuts. The texture of these is polarizing, you either love'em or hate'em, and I'm a lover. Most people seem to think mochi donuts should only be the pon de ring type which is super frustrating! I'm certain this has to do with personal preferences and expectations, so hoping to put this out there to prevent misconceptions. THESE ARE CAKE DONUTS. Again. THESE ARE CAKE DONUTS. In red font, bold, caps. Triple underlined. NOT the light and airy, slightly chewy pon de ring style donuts that are served at every other mochi donut establishment. Though those are good in their own right too. So temper your expectations accordingly! If you are not a fan of cake donuts and the denser texture of traditional mochi, then step away now. To elaborate, the special part about these cake donuts are that they are in between an American cake donut, and the texture of traditional Japanese mochi or Hawaiian butter mochi. Meaning--they are denser, they are still the slightest bit chewy but more in the vein of a teeny tiny bounce. I also like that unlike pon de ring donuts which are generally the same flavor dough with different frosting, these cake donuts have different flavored dough. Their seasonal flavors vary and this visit I ordered a chocolate espresso donut and a maple pumpkin donut ($4.50 each), another in my party also ordered an almond croissant. The chocolate donut balanced the rich chocolate dough with the slight bitterness from the coffee in the frosting and was not too sweet. The maple pumpkin flavor was good though a little on the sweeter side, definitely recommend a cup of coffee with it. I tasted a bite of the almond croissant ($5.50?) and it was very almond-forward, tasted like almond extract was added to punch up the cream inside. Ok I've said my spiel--no matter what the ratings are for the rest of Dahlia Bakery, these are one of only a couple places that I know of coast to coast that do mochi cake donuts well. Really hope they keep these around so next time I'm in Seattle, I can come enjoy these tasty treats again!

This is just a review for the coconut cream pie. I ordered a slice and it was quick and service was nice. It's probably the best coconut creme pie I've had and I really enjoyed the toasted big slices of coconut on top. It was rich and definitely sweet but not too overpowering, just a tad too sweet for me. I popped it into the fridge for a bit as well and it tasted even better cold

Here for a.l conference and stopped in for a quick breakfast with a colleague. I had a latte with hazelnut and biscuits and gravy. It was a bit pricey. I eill say the portion of biscuits and gravy could be shared if you're not for used on being stuffed. The coffee was potent but I could not taste the hazelnut (which was an uncharted). The gravy was rich and had a decent amount of sausage. The baked is rustic and very cute. In the morning you can sit on the pizza restaurant side to enjoy your order, otherwise, youd have to take it to go. Staff was kind and willing to answer questions.

    Grease pooling in the bag!
    Kailey C.

Came for the breakfast sandwich, never coming back because of it! Wildly greasy, oil literally dripped all down my arm anytime I took a bite, and soaked all the napkins and pooled in a corner of the bag. The sausage had large chunks of gristle in it. The egg was overcooked. The English muffins were far larger than the sausage patty or egg. See photos!

    Triple coconut cream pie
    Hani K.

Pie wasn't that sweet which I liked, I thought it was overpriced, single donut for $5 and a slice of pie for $15. It might be debatable though bc the slice is pretty hefty. The pie was very light and fluffy but I don't personally think there was anything special to note. The donuts are baked, and even though it was mochi I thought it tasted more like a regular donut and rather bland. However the workers are very nice and the bakery feels very homey.

    mochi donuts (gluten free)
    jessica l.

Dahlia bakery is a well decorated bakery with gluten free options. I tried their mochi donuts recently. They don't taste exactly like other mochi donuts I've had in the past (though, I don't think those (mochinut) are 100% gluten free), but they are pretty good! My favorite one I tried was chocolate hazelnut. For those who haven't tried mochi donuts, the texture is bouncier(?) than a regular donuts (due to the rice flour).

    Bacon and egg breakfast sando
    Prasiddha H.

I had a chance to try Dahlia Bakery today and it was an awesome experience. For mochi donuts, different pastries and ofc delish bfast sandos this is a good spot to check out. The service is fast and the ambiance is quite inviting. For my order I got the bacon egg breakfast sandos and this was yummy. The bacon was plentiful and loved the sauce that was inside - it added lots of flavor in every bite. I also got a cookie - i think it was everything but popcorn (or something like that) and this was a unique cookie with lots of flavor. I would definitely recommend this one! Overall had a really good experience here!

I like the ambience and the food. I wanted something healthy, so I got the Jose's hash with a side of soup. It was good. Next time, I'll try their donuts and update my review.

I stopped by over the weekend and tried the almond croissant and an iced vanilla latte. I was honestly surprised by how reasonably priced everything was, especially considering it's in such a tourist-heavy area. For the quality, I thought that was a really good value. I order vanilla lattes everywhere I go, and this one was fantastic. There weren't any other customers inside and we were greeted with an empty display case in the front. While barren, the owner, a gruff* French gentlemen, confirmed that he still had choux pastry left with a choice of either vanilla, coconut, pistachio, or hazelnut. We decided to go with the pistachio, which he assembled fresh for us, first by piping pistachio cream inside the choux shell, then dipping in melted chocolate and sprinkling pistachio on top. Pistachio Choux ($6) - The choux is excellent, baked until deliciously crisp on the exterior while the inside remains soft, eggy, and tender. Since it's fresh filled and we ate it right afterwards, the cream never migrated to saturate the crust - I suspect people with issues with mushiness probably let the cream puff sit too long before consuming. The cream, which is piped to the brim, pushes out against the delicate shell, causing each bite to almost squirt out a bit of the luscious, silky whipped custard. The cream coats the lips and mouth with a layer of fat. It's not too sweet and has a light nutty pistachio flavor. The melted chocolate the top is dipped into glues on all of the pistachio dip. The chocolate is slightly bitter, yet sweet, so it helps cut through some of the rich silkiness of the cream. The pistachios on top act like a crumble, perhaps pulverized and melded with butter to create a very rich yet pistachio forward mix. It's strongly flavored, and the chocolate creates such a strong cement that none of the nuts detach while eating. (5/5) Panterelli was a huge surprise as it wasn't even on our radar until we walked past the shop randomly while exploring the Farmers Market. It's a definite revisit in the future! *The owner isn't nearly as welcoming as a typical American small business owner, but is certainly friendly and eager to chat. I also love his attitude - looks aren't that important; it's the taste the reigns supreme!
