Miso caramel pork belly, side of rice
    Sidney A.

4.5 stars. This was my first time at Saint Bread which feels crazy to say considering I have lived in Seattle for the last 6+years. My partner and I were enticed in on a whim after paddle boarding in Lake Union and it did not disappoint. The smell of the smoker outside hit us as soon as we parked and from then we decided we couldn't leave without trying a little something. We ended up getting the miso caramel pork belly from the Hinoki food truck with a side of rice. The pork belly was really well flavored, smoky, sweet, and salty. I'm only taking half a star off for the rice which really wasn't great as it was mushy and overcooked. I would probably opt for the fries next time instead, though this might be a heavier combination. The service was good, and everyone we interacted with was perfectly nice and helpful. The plan is to definitely come back again and try more of what they have on their menu like the smoked half chicken, and even some drinks and things from the bakery.

    CINNAMON-OKINAWAN SUGAR TOAST

Super mid experience and over hyped in my opinion. Staff member at the register wasn't super friendly. That might have been because there was no AC inside the cafe/kitchen and it was over 80 degrees outside. Everyone had to form a line in the beating sun, which took over 40 minutes. No shade in sight until you are 3rd person from the front. Ordered 2 iced matcha lattes, which weren't whisked fresh. They clearly used a matcha concentrate in the drink unfortunately. The cinnamon bread felt stale, and less fluffy than expected. The same went for the sesame cookie, not super fresh. The cardamom bread was probably the freshest of the three items I got. I wouldn't return for any of the items I purchased.

Recommended and was not disappointed! Got a sandwich and tried their baked goods. Everything tasted very fresh, and service was great. Nice location by the water for a stroll after. Line moved a bit slow however

Cute little shop. Arrived a little after 10am on a Saturday and the line took us about 30 minutes to get through. Once ordered, the drinks came out pretty fast and so did my sandwich. I don't know if they rotate their pastries or if they just sold out of everything but only items on display case were the chocolate cookie, sesame cookie, the sakura chiffon roll, savory focaccia, apple cake and maybe one other item. I really was looking forward to trying a cardamom croissant or bun but they didn't have either available. My iced latte was alright. Nothing to go crazy over. The cherry foam for an additional $2.00 was very pretty but that's where it stopped at. Absolutely no cherry or sakura flavor. Disappointed. The sesame cookie had a great smell to it. The aroma of sesame was strong. The cookie had a nice crisp to the edge and a chewy center. The sesame taste wasn't as strong as the smell. The spicy chicken sandwich on special was not spicy at all. It was overwhelmingly sweet from the orange glaze/sauce on the kitchen. It was a decent sandwich and I definitely finished it. Just not something I would gravitate back to. I understand the reviews about how this place doesn't live up to some extra hype. It's decent, solid and a great option for the area but to go out of your way for and wait thirty minutes in line? Not really.

    Okonomiyaki frittata

A great bakery with a fusion of Scandinavian and Japanese flare. I have never been disappointed here. The cardamom buns, croissants, etc. are all great. They are popular though so they run out of baked goods fast on the weekends. It was also fun to try to okonomiyaki frittata as well, I would have never thought to make a breakfast version of that dish!

Finally made it out to Saint Bread and I loved it! Arrived around 9am on a Friday morning and waited ~30 min in line. All the pastries except for the regular butter croissant were available, and we were able to place an order for the kimchi focaccia and sakura swiss roll, which were slated to come out around 10am. Service was super friendly! I got the hojicha latte, the okonomiyaki frittata, black sesame cookie, kimchi focaccia, and sakura swiss roll. The hojicha latte was rich and earthy in the best way, and it went really well with the black sesame cookie, which had a great strong sesame flavor, and the texture was perfectly chewy! The focaccia was pillowy and chewy at the same - I could've eaten five of these on their own. The frittata was my least favorite item, but by no means am I saying that it's bad! I thought the sauces overpowered it a bit, and the frittata itself was a bit bland - I couldn't even tell it had sweet potato in it, but it was cooked really well. There was ample seating in the heated patio, but parking was a little confusing, though we got lucky with the small lot right next to the store. There were a lot of signs that said no parking along the street in front, but it seemed like a lot of cars were parked there?

The bread was fluffy and delicious. The chicken katsu sandwich was good, wishing this was a standard on the menu long term. The service was okay, there was a long line out the door but moved quickly, they are dog friendly and have lots of outdoor covered seating. No indoor seating. We had to wait for a table but the food quickly came out. I will probably need to go back to try more of their pastries by 1pm they were pretty much out of most of the options!

Saint Bread is the spot! Love that they've been doing more specials, and their spicy orange chicken sandwich special may have been one of the best sandwiches I've had in Seattle. Always plenty of seating in their covered and heated outdoor space. The cozy kind of place that I often end up striking up nice conversation with folks in line or while waiting for food.

Saint Burger + extra patty + bacon + grilled onions

First time trying Saint Bread around 2pm on a Saturday. Line out the door. Order at the counter and take a number for food delivering. Picnic table seating with roof top covering & partial walls. The Saint Burger was pretty good; nice and and tasty, cheesy, and saucey. For me it was probably a top-5 burger experience, though I'd like it if it had a bit of crunch with the lettuce or something else. Otherwise very good. Place is dog friendly with a few dog water bowls out and staff offering to give your puppy dog bones and pets.

I'm a huge BEC girl. I'll always try it on any/every menu if it's an option. And I have to say- their bacon/egg/cheese breakfast sandwich AND fries are some of the best I've had in Seattle. This isn't an exaggeration. I'm also a huge fries girl, and when I tell you this is some of the best fries I've had, I'm not joking. It was perfectly hot, crisp but soft, and there was a slightly reddish seasoning that just brought it all together. I wasn't expecting much when I got to Saint Bread, so this combo was an absolute pleasure. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because I did order their apple loaf, and it was really not to my liking. It was dry and flavorless. Others may like it but it just wasn't my thing. Ample seating outside, friendly service, and great food. Will absolutely be back to try their smash burger with their perfect fries.

    Okinawa Toast
    Lilian X.

This place has been on my list to check out for a long time but sadly it was disappointing. Overall it was just okay. The Okinawa toast was pretty unimpressive. The cardamon roll was actually better! The place was extremely busy with students, and there isn't much room to stand around, so it felt cramped and jammed while waiting. That said, the lattes were actually good and probably the highlight of the visit. Parking: there's a meter parking lot near by, it was $4 for 2 hours. Not bad!

    Barb N.

Stopped by after a visit to UW Medical Center. Very little parking close by. I ordered the cardamon croissant and a bun- I think it had saffron and a sprinkling of coarse salt. Had the croissant right away and boy was it delicious. Very flakey and buttery. I couldn't taste cardamom-maybe I misunderstood and it was just a croissant. Didn't eat the bun 'til the next morning so can't really rate a day-old bakery item, but any spice was not really discernible. The fellow at the cash register was friendly.

Finally gave Saint Bread a try! This place is super popular and busy so seems there is always a wait. I waited a bit but it was a nice sunny day and I was in no rush. The staff is friendly and hard working. Ambiance is bright, modern, and hip. I decided to order the cardamom twist pastry to try while I waited for the Cinnamon-Okinawan Sugar Toast I also ordered. Both were tasty. Definitely some yummy pastries here. I'll have to order a drink next time and come earlier in the morning and not pm time so I can snag some of the other pastries to try!

Highlights: - Miso Roasted White Chocolate Cronut: My favorite item in their current rotation. The cronut was a tad soggy, but the buttery texture inside is still satisfying and the miso white chocolate filling is lusciously smooth and perfectly balanced between savory and sweet. - Blackberry Corn Mousse Cake: Blueberry mousse is the perfect fluffy texture and the corn is very subtle. The sponge cake is light and perfectly contrasts against the bottom layer of crunchies to add a bit of variety. - Blueberry Corn Croissant: Pastry also held up quite well on this one with the outside still being quite crisp. The inner cream unlike the mousse cake is very corn forward with a bit of blueberry jam to balance it out. Skip: - Black Forest Cake: Found the cake to be a bit too firm with the cream filling to be a little bland and too firm as well. Just wanted this to be better than it was. Also, it looks totally different from the photo on their website heads up. - Tomato Basil Croissant: Just found this to be off ratio wise. The only tomato is the 3 small quarters of cherry tomato at the top and a light smear of basil cream. I can see this being very good, but current form factor isn't doing it any favors.
