I messaged this bake shop last minute before my son's birthday party with only about a week notice. They informed me that they were not able to do a custom cake without a two week advance notice. However they offered to do "an edible image with light decoration" so of course I agreed. I knew that it was my fault for not giving the notice ahead of time and I just appreciated that they were willing to work with me. When we picked up this cake we were absolutely blown away!! They had me send them an image of what we wanted on the cake which in this case was Frogman from Marvel which is my son's theme. I also told them they could do any lily pads, water, frogs, or swamp like decorations. Our party was frog themed loosely based on the Frogman character so we were asking for an abnormal theme of cake. We were also told we could choose any of the flavors they offered and were given a link to their website which contains all of the flavors they bake. These flavors are all included in one of their popular items "the box" which you can order for pick up. "The Box" contains a slice of all of the different flavors of cake for you to taste. All of the flavors looked amazing. There were a few flavors that were totally unique including the s'mores one that we ordered for this cake. My son wanted chocolate peanut butter and we felt that s'mores was the closest flavor they offered. My son loves marshmallow and their s'mores flavor contains a homemade marshmallow fluff. They also had a few other flavors I definitely want to go back and try! I love anything lemon poppyseed which is one of their flavors and they also have a banana coffee cake which sounds delicious! Our last minute cake with "light decoration" was a million times better than we even imagined! When the person on the phone told me edible image I had pictured in my head a generic grocery store a cake with the printed image on the top. I did not expect such a creative and perfectly themed final product. The decorations were done beautifully and everything was made with frosting instead of fondant which I loved. In the photos I attached I added the plastic frog decorations, so those did not come included on the cake, but everything else pictured was completed by the bake shop. The cake looked absolutely amazing and tasted incredible. I loved that the cake contained multiple layers of marshmallow and frosting so it was woven throughout the cake. The cake itself was also really thick and airy and rich with chocolate flavor. I also really appreciated the packaging. It came in a really sturdy box that insured that our cake arrived safely. We did not have any malfunctions with getting the cake home, which has been a struggle in the past. Thank you Baked Bake Shop for creating the biggest element of our birthday celebration! read more

Went in a Saturday afternoon and the cases were practically empty. I guess we need to come earlier. I got to try the walnut brownie. It was huge and moist. I would definitely have it again but with a glass of milk or vanilla ice cream! My boyfriend got the butterfinger cheesecake. Thankfully he shared because it was great and I'm not a huge cheesecake fan. It did not taste overly like a cream cheese bar. It is worth the 20 minute drive across town, past numerous bakeries to pick up snacks here. We've gone twice this month! The fudge brownies are the best I've had in years. Rich chocolate flavour, dense & chewy centre, and that nice crisp brownie top. Your choice with or without walnuts. Highly recommended. Grab a milk while you're at it! The cupcakes are delicious. The vanilla is perfect, great crumb, the buttercream frosting is flavorful and rich without being cloyingly sweet. Same to be said for the Oreo-funfetti cupcakes. The batter is funfetti and Oreo, with Oreo buttercream dipped in sprinkles. The s'mores cupcake was a hit with a expertly toasted marshmallowy fluff topping. I really enjoyed the brown butter Rice Krispy treat, thick and chewy (my partner said he's "had better" ). There is a raspberry almond tart which is sweet, tart, and crumbly, but not too dry. The burbon pecan tart is hands down the best pecan dessert next to my aunt's homemade pie. The crust is delicious, delicate, and flavorful without falling apart under the weight of the delicious filling and pecans. Toffee cheesecake was rich and creamy. I didn't taste too much toffee. The crust was crumbly and unique but quite enjoyable. Friendly staff, clean store. Bright and welcoming. We will continue the commute across town to support this establishment, even if it ends up taking us nearly an hour between the drive there & back, plus picking out our goodies. I normally don't give bad reviews, but I want to give people a warning about the custom orders. I'd been to Baked several times and my mom and I have tried their cookies, cake slices, Oreo Rice Krispy treats and cheese cake. It's had all been yummy. I especially loved the fluffy texture of the Rice Krisy treats. So much so that I decided to order a custom cake and Rice Krispy treats for my birthday. I love cake, but I don't like heavy frosting, so I went for a "naked" look cake in the Wired Banana flavor with light frosting and sprinkles added to the top. I also ordered some Rice Krispy treats with sprinkles mixed it. I'd been looking forward to this cake for weeks before my birthday. On the day of my birthday, my mom went to pick up the order at 11am, the predetermined pick up time, and Baked was closed. I freaked out because I'd already prepaid for the order. I called the shop and apparently they don't open to the public until later in the day, but you can pick up custom orders. That's fine, but it would have been nice if they told me that when I placed my order. So my mom went back to pick up the cake and Rice Krispy treats. She also got some cookies from their display window. I had a chocolate chip cookie, which was good, but it was my birthday, so I was all about the cake. It was pretty and the frosting looked just like I requested. I put it on a cake stand, took some pictures, and then cut a slice. Things went down hill from there. I only had two bites, and the cake immediately tasted metallic. It was really off putting. But worse, it had a sour after taste, like spoiled milk. I had to drink coffee to get the sour taste from my mouth. I thought the rancid flavor might have something to do with the fact that the cake was still cold from being in the bakery's refrigerator. So I covered the rest of my slice and waited an hour and a half. The cake texture was softer once it was room temperature, but the flavor was still off. I ordered a banana flavored cake and I got a rotten banana/sour milk flavored cake. The cake was just for me to enjoy for my birthday weekend, and for that I'm glad. I would have felt so embarrassed to serve that cake to guests. I ended up throwing the cake away after eating part of the one slice. Then my mom tried one of the Rice Krispy treats. She grimaced while chewing the first bite. She said it tasted sour. We threw the rest of the Rice Krispy treats away. I don't understand how a bakery can have delicious goodies in their display and disgusting stuff for custom orders. Maybe they used expired, sour butter for my order. I was so disappointed to not have good cake for my birthday. Luckily, Sweet Surrender was open and I got some cupcakes. Sweet Surrender has never done me wrong on favor. read more

But I will eat and enjoy the carrot cake this place makes. The other night I bought some banana pudding and it was excellent. Best I've ever had. Came from out of town to visit family and looked for a dessert shop we stumbled upon Baked and they did not disappoint. We tried rompope (eggnog) tres leche, original tres leches, cheesecake and the workers gave us complimentary s'mores cupcakes. Everything was absolutely amazing but omg I want to go back for the s'mores cupcakes alone they stole the night highly recommended. I want to give 4 stars but I'm not a fan of sweets first of all. I was craving carrot cake and I must say their carrot cake was so freaking moist it was almost damn perfect. It was just actually too sweet to be perfect for me specifically. The flavors were really nice. Im scared to order again cause it was just too sweet for me. The original dulce leche was good. Although the cake part seem a little over cooked I liked the texture of it. It was good. Ok so I have been here two times now and I have sampled a small variety of their goods here is my take on all I have tried so far ranked from worse to best. 1. Oh honey she roasted cookie From the name I was expecting a cookie that tasted like roasted honey something like honey bunches of oats, but in a cookie. I was a bit disappointed to see it tasted like a peanut butter cookie. It was ok if you like peanut butter cookies but I am not a fan. 2. Regular vanilla cupcake It was decent like any other vanilla cupcake basically. 3. A chocolate chip cookie Pretty good I would have liked like the chocolate chips to be more melted. 4. Strawberry trifle It was yummy over all but I typically expect trifles to be a bit more moist and this was not. 5. Toffee cheesecake Ok best for last, it is the one pictured. This thing was AMAZING!!! Some cheesecakes taste like nothing but sweet cream, which is fine but this one was phenomenal it was not extremely sweet, you could actually taste the cream cheese flavor, and the texture was amazing it was nice and firm not mushy.
