We recently learned that the previous owners had sold the restaurant. While we certainly miss seeing them--and a few former menu favorites such as the lamb shank and pork dish--the new owners have done a wonderful job preserving the atmosphere and quality that make Caprice special. The Beef Bourguignon and Steak Frites were still absolutely amazing and remain two of our favorites. We tried the bone marrow this time, which was good, although we probably would choose the charcuterie next time. Our server was wonderful, and the restaurant thoughtfully accommodated our request to sit upstairs. Because our reservation was near the end of the evening, we nearly had the space to ourselves. They surprised us with two complimentary glasses of champagne and even allowed us to choose a song to close out our special night. Those personal touches meant so much to us. My only constructive feedback concerns the end of the evening. Someone repeatedly walked through the dining area making loud comments about needing to hurry, finish up, and leave. I'm unsure whether those remarks were intended for us to hear, but they made us feel rushed during an otherwise beautiful moment. My husband and I have both worked in restaurants, so we are very mindful of closing time and would never intentionally keep a staff waiting. We were already planning to box our remaining food and leave promptly. Since the restaurant was still actively being cleaned and broken down, those comments felt unnecessary and could have been handled more professionally. That moment aside, everyone was kind, the service and atmosphere were lovely, and the food was delicious as always. We deeply appreciate the effort made to accommodate us and make our wedding dinner memorable. Caprice remains a meaningful place in our story, and we look forward to returning for future anniversaries.
