It's a tradition! Even the ones who don't like donuts (yeah, I don't understand how, but you know what they say about those...) like these! So many great choices, but some of our faves are the Inside Out Boston Cream, cinnamon Sugar, French Toast and Smores, and the frosted are amazing! You should let them set up though as toppings are put on as the donuts are absolutely fresh "made to order" cake donuts! My kids so want the Donut Ice Cream Cake next time!! It's obvious that this place during peak season would be an absolute madhouse, but my bestie and I came last Saturday morning for a day at the beach, and she needed something sweet. While most people will argue that having a loaded donut at 10:30AM in the morning might be overkill, but man, you won't regret it! I was dying to try the french toast donut, and her heart was set on having the key lime pie. Since we were probably the first customers of the day, we were in and out of here in all of 5-7 minutes. Do they look like the pictures on the menu? Yes Did the french toast disappoint? Absolutely not! But, was the key lime pie better? She thought so; I'm still debating! Would you go back? Hands down. These were still warm when we took the first bites, and the flavors come through loud and clear. They take great care in putting the right toppings on each donut, as is intended to get that "wow" factor. If I lived closer to here, we would all be in trouble; big time. We have been going here for several summers and overall we enjoy the donuts. They're all made to order. Sometimes you're in and out and other days, its a slow, painful wait. There doesn't seem to be any order to how they take orders. Today, what disturbed us was when my son order 1 donut, paid cash and then the girl went and made the donut, put it in the box and handed it to him. All the while, not using a glove or washing her hand and even sneezing over one of the donuts. Disgusting. When I asked for another donut, she insisted she had used gloves. Fresh, hot and delicious! These donuts do not disappoint. My favorites were Maple Bacon, S'mores, Boston Cream, French Toast and the Sandy donut. Love love love the concept of this place! Donuts made to order: Warm ooey gooey fluffy fried nuts of dough topped with your heart's desire. I ordered the "everything" donut and the "lemon drop". They were fried up right there, dipped and topped, and then served piping hot. The donuts are small compared to your typical donut, so it's definitely okay to order more than one. The dough was delicious and the texture was something I haven't found in a donut before- so yum! The icing kind of slides off the donuts a bit due to the heat, so these can get a bit messy. Also, I think I almost put myself in a sugar coma from that everything donut. But it was all worth it. Staff was friendly and coffee was good too! This is the 3rd shore good donuts shop down the shore and it's a local spot for the folks down in Long Beach Island which great for the locals, the staff is sometimes overwhelmed due to late night demand for folks that have a sweet tooth. Most folks come in for a donut but don't be surprised when you see someone asking for a dozen or half a dozen which costs $7.98 or a dozen which costs about $14.49 or you can go with a single which I would suggest the French toast or the inside out Boston Cream $1.49. 1 star for fresh donuts. We come every year to get donuts during our stay. Honestly, during this time of COVID I was very disappointed about procedures and precautions with the staff. In comparison to other places we've been to on the island it seems they didn't get the memo on maintaining cleanliness. There is NO posted limit on how many people in the store. It was way overcrowded and many of us customers were considerate enough to wait outside! Cleanliness issues- Staff is glazing donuts with one glove, no hair net and touching their hair prior to touching MY food! GROSSS!!!!! THANKFULLY they followed mask guidelines. These donuts are simply outrageous and addicting. At $1.40 a pop, you can't beat a hot fried donut freshly made right in front of you. They are smaller than normal donuts, but that justifies all of the ones that you will end up eating. I tried the everything donut, topped with a beautiful glaze and a glamorous topping of sprinkles, Oreos, and M&Ms. They are out of this world, especially when you first get them and the glaze is warm and oozy and sticky. I have been to each location once, but the Beach Haven location is closer to the house my family rented this summer. Donuts are made fresh to order and still taste great even 10 mins before closing. I recommend eating them while they are still warm for the most delicious donut. My family tried nearly every flavor and all were fantastic. Some of our favorites were the lemon drop, everything, sandy donut (almond), and the classic chocolate with rainbow sprinkles. The donuts were decent, but I wish the actual cake donut (as opposed to the frosting/toppings) was tastier. I thought it was kind of bland. The donuts are made fresh and do come out hot, so that's a plus -- but they also do not keep well so plan to eat them when you get them, rather than saving some for the next day.
