A gluten-free bakery located on Perry Highway, near Wexford.  They feature delicious coffee drinks, amazing gluten- free baked goods as well as vegan and dairy free options, and fun vintage items.  I am not gluten-free but wanted to check them out and WOW- everything I tried was amazing.  It does not even taste like gluten-free which is amazing.  The textures, flavors and diversity is really amazing.  Tried the breakfast sandwich which was a gluten free English muffin with sausage, egg and cheese.  It was really tasty! Got some cinnamon rolls and cupcakes to go! Also had a London Fog which totally hit the spot! Everything is very fairly priced.  They have a great staff and quick service which is perfect to grab and go!

Finally stopped in here and I'm so glad I did! The staff was very friendly and there was a huge selection of baked goods and drinks. I got an English muffin and some treats to take home and everything I had was delicious! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also loved the ambiance with the vintage decor and chairs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Such a fun and unique place![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I tried a variety of gluten-free baked goods--scones, cookies, cupcakes all were delish! I especially liked the toffeedoodles that were made with home made toffee. Amazing that all food items were gluten-free. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The mid-century kitchen collectables that were for sale added to the nostalgia.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The 60's vibe took me back to my younger days.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I love Baked True North! We've been a customer since before they had a brick and mortar. My sister has Celiac Disease so finding somewhere safe for her to eat is always a win! We've ordered cupcakes for special occasions multiple times and they are incredible, you can't even tell that they're gluten free. The peanut butter cupcake with chocolate frosting and carrot cake cupcake with cream cheese frosting are top notch. My sister loves the cinnamon rolls in the bakery too. The lemon bars are amazing!!! The bakery is really cute too, they even sell retro/vintage home items. Definitely would recommend Baked True North even if you're not gluten free!

Baked True North is a bakery that opened in June 2022, and it sells *gluten-free* foods. I am not on a gluten-free diet, but I felt curious to try the foods. I sent my husband to buy some goodies for me. He said that the employee had a friendly personality and that she provided timely service. Here are my reviews for the foods: Lemon bar - 4 stars - $2.25 - The size was small/medium. The crust on the bottom was appropriately crispy. The filling was very lemony. On top was powdered sugar. Brownie - 4 stars - $3 - This brownie was extremely chocolately. The texture was more like fudge than cake. Chocolate chips were on top. Cookies - 3.5 stars - $3.85 each - My husband picked out two flavors, and he could not remember what they were called. One cookie appears to be a toffee snickerdoodle, which I rate as 4 stars. The other cookie appears to contain nuts, and I rate it as 3 stars. Muffin - 3.5 stars - $3 - This muffin had a cinnamon flavor. The center was moist, and crumbs were on top. Overall, I rate the foods at Bake True North as good. If you are on a gluten-free diet, then I encourage you to check out this business.

I stopped by here the other day with my wife and one of our kids while we were out. We had seen Baked True North a number of times while driving past it on Perry Highway but had never had a reason to stop. On this morning though, neither my wife nor I had our coffee yet and baked goods sounded good as well. The inside of this place consists of a long counter with a display case of cookies and then cloches filled with other baked goods, all gluten free. On this morning my wife and I decided on coffees (me large, her small) and then also an olive oil and Parmesan focaccia, a pumpkin gingerbread muffin, a cinnamon roll and an almond vanilla cupcake. I first tried the coffee on the way home and thought it tasted strong but a little bitter. After some of the sweets though, it was perfect and so likely a nice choice. My wife and I first tried the focaccia and were very happy with the taste of it, especially the Parmesan. It was loaded with olive oil and you could not tell that it was gluten free at all. Up next was the pumpkin gingerbread muffin. It was a little bit of a denser muffin and I got lots of the warming spices from the gingerbread and enjoyed it, even though I don't get much pumpkin. Then last but not least for us was the almond cupcake. There was an ample amount of vanilla frosting on top which I rather enjoyed as it tasted nicely of vanilla without being overly sweet. With any of the vanilla I actually didn't get the taste of the almond at all. Thankfully my wife told me to eat the cake part separately and I did and it was delicious. So I ended up enjoying both parts of it, but the frosting definitely overshadowed the cake. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. My wife and I both enjoyed all that we had eaten, especially that focaccia.

Excited to try this dedicated gluten free spot

Ventured out to this spot while on a business trip. As a celiac desserts are quite possibly the most difficult thing to normalize while preserving the taste, texture, and consistency of the "normal" versions. Of course at the end, when lacking all of that one tends to feel let down and unsatisfied. So I stopped in to see what the local hype was all about. I got the breakfast sandwich, a take on a sausage, egg, and cheese English muffin breakfast sandwich. Not usually a fan of English muffins to be fair but their take on it was close as I imagine you can get. It was pretty good, not being a usual fan of the texture anyhow. Also got the glazed donuts, a lemon/raspberry cupcake and a chocolate cupcake and a couple cinnamon rolls. This is where the magic is. I was fully prepared to be letdown by the donut for the mere fact of the thickness of it. The outside looked false and sweet but this sucker was about 2" thick. That combo usually equals the consistency of eating chalk in the Florence freee world. I was SHOCKED to realize they managed to integrate the glaze throughout even the center of this monster, all the while holding together. It looks like cake but this sucker is entirely glazed, mousy and DELISH! Possibly my favorite donut ever! The cupcakes were also extremely well constructed and the frostings were sweet but not too sweet and totally escaped that weird film in your mouth you can sometimes get with frostings. The cinnamon rolls were packed with cinnamon goodness and after a quick 20 seconds in the microwave they melted in your mouth like velvety cinnamon butter but heart enough to be a meal. Run, do not walk to this establishment and be prepared to be WOWED!

It looked beautiful and tasted very good. Nutella & Fruit Crepe - 5 stars - This gluten-free crepe contained Nutella and slices of strawberries and bananas. I loved the flavors of the Nutella and fruits. Egg-Bacon-Cheese Breakfast Sandwich - 5 stars - My husband enjoys this sandwich so much that he ordered it during both visits. Turkey-Bacon-Swiss Wrap - 5 stars - This wrap contained a good amount of turkey, lettuce, and Swiss cheese, and I liked the raspberry-walnut dressing on the side. Raspberry-Passionfruit hot tea - 5 stars Chai Latte - 5 stars - This hot tea had the perfect balance of black tea, spices, honey, and milk. It is one of my favorite drinks anywhere. Handcrafted Soda - 4.5 stars - Seltzer sodas come in many different flavors, and we went with cherry, pomegranate, and apple. Mango Smoothie - 5 stars - Smoothies are available in a few flavors, and this mango one with whipped cream tasted excellent.

My wife ordered the berries and cream crepe again dressed to entice the dinner . Sweet but very well balanced.

I stopped by here a couple of Sundays ago with my wife. We were actually headed to Marshall's at the Block at Northway whenever we happened to spot this truck just outside. Since it is a food truck, there's not much to say about it other than it was parked on the sidewalk and had a sign up advertising their specials. Other than that I noticed a sign in the window saying that they sold Defer coffee which I appreciated since it is both local and good. Since there was no line I immediately proceeded up to the window and was able to place my order for a oatmilk latte. The oatmilk itself was only an extra $.75 which I feel like is a fair price for such an upgrade. In any case after only a minute or two wait I had my coffee and was on my way. Whenever I finally was able to taste it I will admit that I was happy with it. The coffee itself had a deep and rich flavor to it while the oatmilk had a strong oat flavor. Those two items were in proportion to each and played nicely together. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. I thought that my coffee here was good and liked the idea of a coffee food truck.

I loved how I was greeted and how it felt welcoming + how many things they offer outside of the drinks. They sell plants and other cute little items (esp Pittsburgh themed). Seating was super cool but I sadly needed an outlet and had to reserve at a larger table as the smaller ones were full. I love how the plants and the environment gives a nice work space without it being too overwhelming. I felt comfortable though I felt a bit weird being at a larger table for being 1 person. (I also went in the afternoon about 1.5 hours before they closed). Now let's get into the food and the drink which is probably the highlight of the visit. I am a huge, let me say huge again, matcha snob. I know the best of the best and I get so nervous trying other shop's matchas but I was really blown away with how good this tasted. It wasn't too sweet or too "greeny" and the quality tasted really good compared to other places I have been too. I did get lavender as a flavor shot because some shops are either a hit or a miss with lavender (or any flavor where you can't taste it). I could definitely taste the lavender in here and it was really refreshing. To the gluten free community, this muffin was so good. I wish I remembered the name of who made it but it wasn't too sweet for being a muffin and was really good especially warmed. I felt like I was enjoying a balance of both sweet and refreshing than an overkill. I am also one of those people that would put chocolate with my matcha and possibly lavender as it combines really well. I definitely want to come back and try their coffee drinks as I'm curious about it. Another positive is their parking and getting out of the lot isn't so scary as there is a light and you don't have to risk your life trying to cut across the highway to get where you're going. The only complaint I would have, though it was a lovely treat, is that the pricing seemed a lot higher than what I'm used to paying at other local coffee shops. I felt like $1 for non-dairy milk is odd when a lot of other shops charge either 0 to .50 cents max and I felt like the drink overall was more pricey than if I went to another shop for a matcha. I don't know how often I will be back but it was nice to try it. (Gluten free stuff is always pricey so I can't complain about that..)
