First and foremost the best tasting thing we had was the cauliflower spinach egg and cheese empanada. Oh my word!! The flavors of this little gem was perfect. Next was the chorizo and egg empanada - tasty, then the ham, cheese and jalapeño turnover- tasty. We also ordered the El Senor Crispy which is Fried chicken breast, cole slaw, sweet chili bacon aioli, pickles, served on a bun with fries - delicious! We did get 3 pastries to go and our favorite was the apple cinnamon one. I ordered a unicorn mimosa for funsies. It is blue with edible glitter. Pretty good and not overly sweet. Small spot with a kindhearted and friendly staff! I had the chilaquiles (mixed sauce; red & green) , over medium egg, with Chorizo and it was amazing! The chips stayed crunchy longer than other places. The flavors were incredible and the egg was cooked perfectly. It is a small place with limited indoor seating but more seating outside in the patio area (which is quite nice).. The staff were all very friendly and helpful in assisting me on which dishes are most popular - that helped me deicide on my selection. Overall - great place, yummy food, and super nice staff!! Don't walk. RUN. Picazo is like being invited to a family's house that makes you wish they were your family. Must try: 1) Chilaquiles (get 1/2 rojo 1/2 verde to taste both) 2) Huevos Rancheros 3) Flan French Toast 4) Pozole Verde (a special) Also their mimosas (I had mango) and the Michelada were incredible. Looking for a bomb burger? The best Arnold Palmer? Out of this world pastry? Possibly the best breakfast ever? (We haven't tried it yet, but we will return to try it) Organic, local, family owned, best place to eat? Totally conscious about recycling and reusing! LOOK NO FURTHER! We spotted best burger 11 years in a row, and they did not disappoint! Friendly staff, ordering was easy, and the food came out quick and super hot. Away from the tourist part of Sonoma sits a little cafe that serves great meals and is definitely a town favorite among the locals. They are known for their delicious breakfast and terrific burgers but I personally enjoy their Fish and Chips. They have a nice outdoor seating area when the weather is nice so be sure to take advantage of that when you go. read more

This was my son and my third time trying Picazo Cafe. It's become one of his favorite spots since we moved to Sonoma County. While it's a half hour drive from home, we often enjoy visiting Sonoma and the combination of good options, fresh salsa and relatively reasonable prices has encouraged us to return. Ordering occurs at the counter as you enter, but they're happy to walk you through the menu, if you'd like. We had only been seated for a few minutes before our beverages landed on the table. My son's chai was a great balance between spicy and sweet and my mocha was flavorful without being overly sweet. Their barista checked in with us about the temperature after dropping off our drinks. Both had a nice amount of foam on top! Now, for those looking for a more formal dining experience, that's not this, just to be clear. It feels elevated for a roadside diner with more personality than most of the breakfast places we've found closer to home in Cotati or Rohnert Park, but still quite approachable. We tried the Picazo Flan French Toast on a previous visit and it was good, but the "flan" aspect didn't really come through and I found it rather too sweet for my palate. They know what they're doing with the Huevos and Chilaquiles though! Both come with fresh avocado and salsa. The tortillas stand up to the salsa and don't fall apart. We definitely have more items that we'd like to explore on the menu, plus there are always Mexican pastries in the cases by the order counter. Their burgers also seem to be quite popular. read more

Loved my experience at Picazo! Breakfast at this restaurant made my trip to Sonoma - the food, the vibes, and the people working were so lovely. I got their chilaquiles verde with chorizo that was mouthwatering with their Soy Macha chili oil. My friends got their Picazo burger, brunch burrito, and huevos rancheros, and we all left with full stomachs and smiles on our faces. Their menu is expansive and has something for everybody, with a lot of vegetarian options. Not to mention, the chai latte and iced coffees were full of flavor and creaminess that are things of dreams, along with those mimosas. I went to Kenwood to pick up my wine membership and happen to drive by Picazo Cafe, my husband said they have the best burger. I quickly made a right to turn around and headed back. This is a nice and cozy cafe. You are greeted with a smile, you order, you get a number and pick your seat. My husband had one of the burgers with medium spice sauce and I had a torta with skirt steak. My husband had an Arnold palmer and I had wine. the wine is a healthy portion and the Arnold palmer was in a big to go cup. We were very satisfied with our drinks. My husband's burger was delicious with onion rings. The medium sauce was very spicy. Thank god he ordered medium. My torta with skirt steak was nice. It looked like they tried to elevate it but the skirt steak was not very flavorful. The fries were delightful. In the back, which I looked through the open door but did not experience, looked very nice. There was a large connect 4 game. This is the sort of place I'm always looking for in every town - the perfect blend of high quality ingredients, warm ambience and delicious eats. A friend recommended it and as soon as I walked in, I got the sense it would be special. Dishes looked delicious AND nutritious. Then I actually got my food and it turned out to be well sourced AND well prepared. Everyone I interacted with was friendly & knowledgeable. You could tell the people working there cared about the place - perhaps either own some of it or are related to somebody who does - which made it feel good to be there. The ambience feels like a well loved tropical location - rambling space, indoors & out, casual rustic with a little design flair. And on the top of everything else, the prices are great! For me that's the total package and a rare gem. A 10 out of 10 for what I value. If I lived in Sonoma, I'd probably eat here 2-3x a week. On my inaugural visit, I had a smoothie and a bowl, both of which were DELICIOUS and prepared with almost surprising finesse for a fast-casual eatery. Really looking forward to coming back to try more things! An extra bonus was walking through their sizable garden of raised vegetable beds as I walked out to my car in the back. The breakfast burrito was sadly tasteless and sad. To top it off, it also barely had any sausage. I kid you not, on one half of the burrito, there was literally one piece of sausage. I was probably at least 6 bites deep before I even hit the first sausage. The croissant sandwich wasn't bad though. The croissant itself is well made. The ham is spread evenly through the sandwich. They give a generous amount of egg. The almond croissant was also pretty good too, though it may need a tad more of the delicious filling. They actually forgot to even give me my croissant but were apologetic when I went back up to ask for it. I'm just glad I remembered it at the end of our meal. Although it took a moment to find the menu, I didn't miss the sign: "voted best burger 8 years in a row". So we'd be getting a burger. And a bowl of vegetables (spinach, carrots, zucchini, potatoes) topped with steak ($18) and accompanied by some zesty sauces. Picazo is the sort of place where you order and pay at the counter then take a seat indoors or out. Servers deliver food to your table and, ostensibly, clear the table when you're through though that seemed to be a task for which there wasn't much appetite. Many unoccupied tables were left with dirty dishes atop them during my visit. The burger was as advertised and easily award-winning for the area. It was big and messy and satisfying. Though it comes with fries an upcharge will get you onion rings instead and that's what I sampled. Quite good, all of it. The steak-topped vegetable bowl was good as well, even if it seemed like something one might cook up in their own kitchen using up leftover vegetables from the crisper. Those tangy sauces accompanying the order did a lot to make this dish quite tasty. Before leaving, an order arrived at the table beside me: a huge açaí bowl with peanut butter. It looked so impossibly big and satisfying that I momentarily wished I was walking in right then as this is what I'd order. Picazo is a very casual, comfortable spot to satisfy your hunger pangs. Such a great place to stop for breakfast, lunch or even just coffee! If you have not stopped to try their burgers, you are missing out! We did not stop for burgers this time but that is our usual go to lunch here. Staff is always very friendly. We were out early and decided to stop by for a coffee and some breakfast. I got a caramel iced latte and a breakfast turnover with chorizo. Don Chava made my coffee, and we had a nice little chat. Prices are very reasonable, and your order comes out quick but if you are in a rush, you can always call ahead, and they will have your order ready to pick up.
