The person that "helped me" was not at all helpful. I felt as though I was interrupting her day. Will not return.

I'm a rank amateur in the chocolate category, but I quickly found that they have a little better variety than Gygi, but seem to be slightly higher priced.

All their chocolate is made with natural ingredients. Their chocolate bars (which you can buy in their shop as well as some local stores) are not at all as sweet as many others, and it allows the flavors to really shine. My favorite is blackberry ginger. They also sell truffles and other sweets. Their truffles are amazing! Possibly my favorite truffles ever. The flavors are always changing, and there are usually maybe 4 - 6 available at any time, but they are all wonderful. I've also tried their coconut chocolate sauce which I could totally just eat with a spoon. And I've picked up the chocolate smoothie in their keepsake Chocolate Conspiracy glass at the SLC farmers market. The owner is charming and is always happy to explain what makes his chocolate different. I did a chocolate tasting here with a friend, and it was so interesting! We tried lots of bars, not just theirs, and got to check out the working space. They also offered a small discount on anything we purchased following the class. Prices are average to a little high, only compared with other chocolate shops, but you get what you pay for, and the quality is unparalleled.

If you're looking for pastries that are as stunning as they are delicious, Fillings & Emulsions…read moreabsolutely delivers. Their fruit-shaped creations are little works of art--so realistic it almost feels wrong to eat them... almost. Each pastry is fresh, light, and packed with flavor. The pistachio was incredibly tasty, though definitely on the richer side, so it's one you might want to savor slowly. The raspberry had a beautifully balanced sweetness with a vibrant, delicious filling. The lemon was very zingy--almost intensely so--but still delightful if you enjoy bold citrus flavors (just maybe not an entire one in a single sitting). The standout, though, was the mango. Easily the winner. It had such a bright, powerful flavor, and the fresh mango inside made every bite feel special. Everything about it--from taste to presentation--was just beautiful. The only slight letdown was the macarons. While still good, they didn't quite match the intensity and uniqueness of the pastries and felt a bit underwhelming in comparison. Overall, this place is a must-visit if you appreciate creative, high-quality desserts. It's clear a lot of skill and care goes into every piece. I loved the building that the pastry shop was in, as it had a "lunch room" feel to it. There are a few restaurants inside so there are options and there's plenty of seating.

The sweet cashier recommended Strawberry & Mango, so that's what we got. They were delicious! I think the mango was my personal favorite. The crunch of the chocolate coating was so satisfying and the fillings soft and gooey. It didn't feel artificial either! The location is in a food mall, which I wasn't expecting but it was so cute inside. I wish we had more time to check out the other vendors but we'll have to come back. On a separate note, it was kind of hard to find a trash can.

It was wonderful! Since then, I have come across their chocolate many times, and have loved each bar tried. I only just learned they have a small storefront open to the public, and immediately made my way there (I'm dedicated when it comes to chocolate, okay?!). They are open 9-2 on weekdays, and when you arrive, you will need to ring the bell at the front door to be admitted, but I only had to wait a few moments, then was greeted by Mark. He was so lovely, and though I was there no longer than ten minutes, I learned so much about chocolate! They make sure the farmers they purchase from receive fair wages, and use two varieties of heirloom cacao beans: Arriba and Chuno. Mark gave me a roasted cocoa bean of each type, and I got to crack open the shell, revealing the nibby meat within. They were both so distinct from each other, with their own delicious characteristics. These are made into a variety of bars. The majority are flavored via smoking with various components (mint, cherry, and mole, for example), so that they do not actually contain any additional ingredients beyond the chocolate, just the essence of these flavors. It's like magic! Most are dark, but there are a few milk, too, and though I generally do not care for milk, Millcreek's is on the darker side, not too sweet, and truly delish! They recently started making CBD chocolate (so hip, guys!) as well as a new line of inclusion bars under the moniker Wild Horse. These range from traditional, like toffee, to creative: ginger and wasabi peas! Beyond chocolate bars, the shop also offers chocolate covered cherries and espresso beans, hot cocoa mix, and chocolate tea. Most of the bars can be sampled, and they had containers of tea for wafting the fragrance. I left with several goodies, and though I have not yet tried everything, so far the blueberry crumble and High West Whiskey bars, along with hazelnut cacao tea, are my favorites. Discounts are available if you buy three or six chocolate bars, but regardless, prices are reasonable for such delicious and high quality products. Mark was so kind to take the time to teach a mini chocolate lesson, and he let me know they will soon be offering classes on chocolate making and tastings. Go!

Why the heck would I want some lame tourist chocolate from SLC? Well... opened it up and the chocolate is... amazing. Like, omg I've never tasted these sorts of fresh flavors from chocolate before. How do I describe their dark chocolate bar flavor... Biscuit notes? Cherry, red wine, cinnamon, long creamy finish. Just excellent. Passed through a few years later on way to canyonlands and stopped to say 'hi' and sing their praises. They make the chocolate right in this little shop from unroasted beans. Pretty unusual. Got to spend the afternoon with the couple that runs the place, heard about the beans they use, etc, etc. Watched them pour the chocolate into molds. Nice people, working hard, doing a good thing, started as this little side chocolate thing when they weren't roasting coffee but getting bigger. But none of that would matter at all except that their product is exceptional - they're doing something special. I later went to the museum which was holding a local chocolate exhibit, bunch of different bars made in slc. Millcreek was head and shoulders above the rest, no comparison at all.

Their chickpea bao buns with chipotle aioli blew me away. It was the perfect level of spicy and very filling without making me feel heavy. I love how much variety is available here and that it's all vegan. I always feel spoiled for choice, I never know what to get because it all looks so good. There's a decent amount of seating inside. Their burritos and fries are my go-to favorites. The burritos are just top-notch, but I have a soft spot for their fries -- it's kind of an inside joke for me. Whenever I go out to eat with people, they always say, "Well, I know what El is having," because I always get fries with my food. But theirs are surprisingly amazing. Fries are usually just "fine" or "good," but theirs? They're very good. The owner is incredibly kind, and their baked goods are fantastic -- especially the peanut butter brownie, which I can't recommend enough. Their soft serve is also really good, and I'm excited to try some of their candy next time. I even took a non-vegan friend there, and he really enjoyed the food. Beyond the food, the team is so nice, and they have a little vegan market with some really cool products. I bought about half a pound of vegan bacon from them, and now I'm making all kinds of breakfast sandwiches at home. If you're in the area, whether you're vegan or not, Sweet Hazel is a must-visit. And if you can't stop by in person, their partner company Break Free Candy ships their sweets, which is awesome. Seriously, if you order anything from the menu, make it the peanut butter brownie. It's life-changing -- and I say that as a huge brownie lover.
