This is a cute shop with plenty of house made candy. The chocolate and taffy here are good--not amazing--but good. There's a large selection of non-house made treats as well, including a large selection of Harry Potter candy and merchandise. While I understand why they forbid strollers--it's a tight space and probably has old floors--they've lost our business more than once by making it impossible for us to go inside as a family. read more

Fudge fudge fudge!!! I love visiting this store for some samples and new holiday flavors. This Christmas season they have a candy cane flavor fudge and a egg nog fudge. I wasn't able to sample the candy cane because I can't have peppermint but the egg nog hit the mark on the flavor profile. Tastes just like your favorite egg nog. The staff is always friendly and their are always lots of fun treats and toys around. I wish they had a bigger store front because it definitely can get a little busy and crowded. read more

I got various chocolates + a caramel apple. I went to Rocky Mountain chocolate factory earlier this week and got a caramel apple. Chocolate covered wagon's caramel apple was WAY BETTER. It's almost unfair to compare the two. Their homemade caramel is out of this world and the apple was fresh. When it comes to the actual chocolate, I found Chocolate Covered Wagon's to be chalky in taste. Sort of like stale chocolate. Granted, that's based off of one of their chocolates on a stick and I don't know how long it was sitting there in the bin before I bought it. What's not to love about this store?! One of the last places I know of that makes authentic homemade Salt Water Taffy with salt from the Great Salt Lake and don't get me started on the homemade caramels...they had samples out and seriously, get some!!! I also got chocolate covered cinnamon bears (reminds me of my childhood), chocolate covered cashews, and dark chocolate marzipan (I love anything marzipan). They even had homemade dipped dog biscuits. I can't believe I have never been to this slice of heaven and will definitely be back when in the area! read more

Bought several flavors of taffy...except for the cinnamon, they all tasted the same. I had several people try them, they all said the same thing. No flavor. I called to talk to the manager, who then talked to the owner...I was told they test all the taffy flavors before they wrap them and have NEVER had a problem. They were very rude...and basically telling me they don't believe me or the people I had taste the tasteless taffy. So disappointed. read more

Tucked away in a cozy corner of Historic Gardner Village, this is a throwback candy store with every imaginable craving for sale. Definitely my favorite place to get a caramel apple on a fall day! The caramel apples range from classic to candy-covered and drizzled in anything. So why only 4 stars? The caramel apples are not Celiac-Friendly. While some flavors are gluten-free, the confectioners are not careful to keep these flavors away from the gluten-contaminated ones. This would be an easy thing to do! This place is AWESOME! I had the dark chocolate dipped cheesecake. It's a big frozen slice of rich cheesecake dipped in dark chocolate. Pretty much the best thing ever. Am I right or am I right? My family complained about the change from the old candy store it used to be. But I feel the opposite. It's a great change if you're a chocolate fanatic like me. This place has a lot of delicious treats! It was a little hard to order what you want and get decent service, but the treats are awesome!!! Most recently we tried the chocolate dipped cheesecake. WOW. DELICIOUS. We loved it! We also tried a few flavors of salt water taffy, but I didn't find them very impressive. This place is a little pricey, but it's definitely a great addition to the beautiful Gardner Village shops. Stop by before or after shopping for a special little treat. My first time ever here and I'm a big fan of travel channel and food network. I was surprised to find out both network's made to this cute little shop. I bought the sea salt caramel apple and a double dipped chocolate toffee covered frozen banana. BAM!!! Made one hell of impression on not only myself but my son who's a very picky eater. The staff are very friendly and we were instantly hooked with the free sample of caramel. This made our experience at Gardner village memorable and now we look forward to all the upcoming events being held there to give us an excuse to go to Daniel and Mommy's special spot. after half a day of traveling, i needed something sweet. quickly. lucky for me, there was a trolley taffey 'round the corner. after stuffing as many free caramel samples as i possibly could in my mouth, i spent $8 more on my own stash. they were sweet (but not overly so), chewy and tasted like baby jesus. good thing was my MOH dress was eating-friendly. i felt free to gorge myself in peace. read more

Great place to buy sweets. We love to come here as often as we can, my son LOVES chocolate and I love that I can get some chocolate fruit or some homemade fudge. The owner is wonderful last year we signed up for a busy bee class and they let the kids dip items in chocolate and watch taffy being pulled. The kids even got to hand pull taffy, pretty cool. They refused to sell me a bottle of water! It was a July afternoon, I brought a $1.50 bottle of water to the counter, and they sales guy at the counter STRAIGHT UP REFUSED to sell me water. He was like, "ummmm, we only make sales over five dollars." And it wasn't like I was trying to pay with a debit card, I offered to pay with either a debit card or cash. So I said, "all right then, no sale" and walked away, leaving the bottle of water on the counter. As I walked away, he yelled, "You could have at least put the water away!" read more

Trolley Taffy Station is just as bad as the Sandy location (Chocolate Covered Wagon), of this chain. The employees are rude and resistant to actually help. I also notice a lack of general hygene- the owner needs to better train her employees to handle food (especially in the case of handling cash and then going right to wrapping taffy/caramel/food products. I found insects in my candy- 60 cents for one tiny little chocolate and I find insect larva. I will never, ever give them business again. read more
