Waiter Ethan ran us out of Dixie's this morning. My husband and I (regulars for breakfast) ordered and I got my food within five minutes or so. My husbands plate sat by the toaster while Ethan hovered making toast. Another several minutes and Ethan finally brought my husbands now cold plate of food. I told Ethan that "in the future, you should bring the main course while it's hot and then go back for toast. Now our food is cold." His reply?? "You can't talk to me like that!! I'll just bring your check and you can go!!" This is the level of customer service that you can expect from Ethan. He yells at his customers, embarrassing us, and then storms off after we asked for the manager. I'm still flabbergasted that any service person would talk to a customer like that. Let alone one from Dixie's. People today are seriously hateful and combative. I hope this little twit is rewarded for his behavior by being fired. Had to come to IF for some errands and decided to get some breakfast. We came here a year or so ago for lunch and wanted to test it out again. When we walked in the place was packed. Immediately two servers came up and said hello. They got us on the waitlist. We might have waited 5 mins. I ordered the ranch biscuits and gravy and my wife got the eggs benedict. Didn't have to wait too long before the food showed up. Overall both dishes were good and we will be back. If you're looking for that 50's vibe, this is the place. I got the meatloaf sandwich and it was great. Meatloaf on top of garlic Texas toast topped with gravy, mushrooms and onion straws. Choice of potato side, I got the chips. Meatloaf was good and portion was large. Chips were crispy and salty, yum. Others at table got the whole hog skillet, meatloaf dinner and fish and chips. Skillet was great. Went into Dixie's for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised about how nice and clean the inside of the seating area was. The service was also good. We were sat immediately and attended to. I really wanted to like this place as I have fond memories of Cafe 50s in West Los Angeles but left this establishment underwhelmed. I had the raisin French toast, sausage, and eggs. This is a fun venue - you can always count on sassy service and great coffee! Lots of good food and a big menu. I tried a skillet and the Hubbs had the hamburger and eggs. Great reubens. That tends to be what I get there, but their menu really has a good variety, so occasionally I get something different, but reubens tend to be my goto. Nice 1950s diner feel, so it's sort of fun to go there just for that. An occasional glitch now and then (putting roast beef instead of corned beef on the reuben) but overall great service and food. read more

I asked for a hot chocolate with extra whipped cream and they delivered, and then after I ate all the whip cream they gave me MORE! This place is fun!!! The 50's decor is something everyone should go see, and your own personal jukebox at your table is that little extra novelty everybody loves to see. The staff is amazing and very well trained. You'll often see the owner there working behind the counter. The food is priced right and we always try to get something different. The sample the menu that has a great variety of.. They do get very busy, but it's worth it. every time I get a oil change I stop by and get my favorite milkshake just to kill some time last time. We went there with a group and everyone was treated very well we all commented on how our service was really good at recommending and sizing up portions for us. 10/02/21 My Husband and I, in all our 40 years of marriage, have NEVER, NEVER, NEVER walked out of a restaurant. I'm so appalled at the older woman (short dark brownish hair) clearing the tables tonight, slamming dishes in the bins and throwing glasses of water and drinks into a separate bin. She seriously gave us a bath. When my husband pointed it out to her, she replied by saying she didn't see any water on or near us. Well, we both felt it! We definitely know what water being splashed on us, feels like. The better words would've have been, "I'm sorry." Instead, she continued to slam dishes and kept glaring at us. When our very nice waitress went over to her and told her, she yelled back at her," You know you shouldn't talk to me like that, I'm not a child." I asked our waitress if that old lady was the owner. She said, "apparently." LOL! I'm pretty sure an owner would not treat their guests the way she was doing. Needless to say, the woman kept banging dishes. In fact, she intentionally got louder. My husband and I decided we would not be eating here. We calmly stood up and on our way out I told this lady off. "You know, you can load those dishes up a little quieter. There are people in here, eating and trying to enjoy their families." With that, we turned and left. Our dinner order was already taken and I'm sure on it's way out. I want to apologize to the young gal waiting on us. I'm sorry it went down this way. The Diner is beautiful. As soon as I got out of my car I started taking photos in hopes of writing a positive review. Sadly, due to one person in this establishment, I must rate accordingly. 1 star for ruining our dinner. People who are mad at the world as obviously, this woman was tonight, should not work in the restaurant industry. You are the weakest link and now your company suffers because of you!
