Went into Dixie's for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised about how nice and clean the inside of the seating area was. The service was also good. We were sat immediately and attended to. If you need a great comfort meal with some 50's flare, this is the spot. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Food was out quick as well. Inside is nice with jukeboxes at each table. I got the meatloaf sandwich and it was great. Meatloaf on top of garlic Texas toast topped with gravy, mushrooms and onion straws. Choice of potato side, I got the chips. Meatloaf was good and portion was large. Chips were crispy and salty, yum. Others at table got the whole hog skillet, meatloaf dinner and fish and chips. Skillet was great. Meatloaf dinner was also great with fresh veggies, mashed potatoes and garlic bread. Fish and chips was OK. Highly recommend giving this place a try. read more

I really wanted to like this place as I have fond memories of Cafe 50s in West Los Angeles but left this establishment underwhelmed. I had the raisin French toast, sausage, and eggs. This is a fun venue - you can always count on sassy service and great coffee! Lots of good food and a big menu. I tried a skillet and the Hubbs had the hamburger and eggs. Had to come to IF for some errands and decided to get some breakfast. We came here a year or so ago for lunch and wanted to test it out again. When we walked in the place was packed. Immediately two servers came up and said hello. They got us on the waitlist. We might have waited 5 mins. I ordered the ranch biscuits and gravy and my wife got the eggs benedict. Didn't have to wait too long before the food showed up. Overall both dishes were good and we will be back. If you're looking for that 50's vibe, this is the place. Do yourself a favor and go to Abracadabra next door and get their playful delicious takes on French toast. Dixie's made my food from dehydrated box poured hot water on it then microwaved it until it tasted rancid. The owner proceeded to tell me I was wrong not to like it. Our waitress was great. She took really good care of us. We had a group of 10 people dine in. The food came out fast and was pretty tasty. We ordered the chicken fried steak breakfast, the rueben, bacon burger, chili, and for appetizers we ordered mozzarella sticks and the southwest eggrolls. Great reubens. That tends to be what I get there, but their menu really has a good variety, so occasionally I get something different, but reubens tend to be my goto. Nice 1950s diner feel, so it's sort of fun to go there just for that. An occasional glitch now and then (putting roast beef instead of corned beef on the reuben) but overall great service and food. read more

Waiter Ethan ran us out of Dixie's this morning. My husband and I (regulars for breakfast) ordered and I got my food within five minutes or so. My husbands plate sat by the toaster while Ethan hovered making toast. Another several minutes and Ethan finally brought my husbands now cold plate of food. I told Ethan that "in the future, you should bring the main course while it's hot and then go back for toast. Now our food is cold." His reply?? "You can't talk to me like that!! I'll just bring your check and you can go!!" This is the level of customer service that you can expect from Ethan. He yells at his customers, embarrassing us, and then storms off after we asked for the manager. I'm still flabbergasted that any service person would talk to a customer like that. Let alone one from Dixie's. People today are seriously hateful and combative. I hope this little twit is rewarded for his behavior by being fired. Otherwise he'll do it to another Dixie customer. read more

Been going to this place since we moved here. Always good food. BUT went to breakfast before church and had the rudest waitress named Jen!!! She was not friendly she never came back to the table to see if everything was ok. We had friends from out of town and we were laughing and tried to make her laugh but she was not having it. She said we were rude. And told us not to come back. She was the rude one we were enjoying our day till she became obnoxious and rude. WE WILL NOT BE BACK. The service was amazing our servers were Gabriel, and Dave. They were just amazing! I asked for a hot chocolate with extra whipped cream and they delivered, and then after I ate all the whip cream they gave me MORE! The whipped cream isn't canned either which is probably why it was so good! And the hot chocolate wasn't even that hot in a good way though. Then, the food. Wow. We were so impressed with Dixie's. Very busy place with great service and plenty of servers. The food is traditional diner fare done really well. There is no need to invent a DeLorean time machine to visit the 50s. This old classic 50 dinner vibe is really cool. The number one reason to eat here is for the unique atmosphere. This is a place where the serving sizes are huge. We are talking a lot of food for a price you don't need a sports almanac from Biff to afford. The milkshakes and sodas were good. They did not skimp on the chocolate or the candy. The entrees are more quantity than quality, but overall a decent place to dine. read more

Went on Sunday before church. I have been multiple times before. I have had different servers multiple times. The server today I have had before. I saw a post somewhere else. If you aren't a regular or local they tune you out. Went in with my family from out of state. Trying to be friendly and cut up joking. Not having it. Family left after being scolded and then when my friend and I that live in town were told to leave and we were not welcome back. Yet we said nothing to her or the staff. read more
