Horrible experience at Baker's in Calimesa. The ordering kiosk was a huge inconvenience and not user-friendly at all. I almost walked out because ordering was so frustrating. For a place known for tacos and burritos, you'd expect a smoother process and better service. To make it worse, they had no hot sauce available and instead tried pushing substitutes I didn't even want. The whole experience felt disorganized and disappointing. This Baker's Drive-Thru is in what feels like the middle of nowhere. I remember heading from Palm Springs to Riverside and being really hungry. I saw the Baker's Drive-Thru off the freeway and immediately exited to grab some grub! I am a big Baker's fan because of the vegetarian menu. Baker's offers vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. So I got in line and planned what I wanted to order. I do remember that there was a big line. I was surprised by this, but then realizing the location probably attracted a lot of people, just as it did me, from the visibility from the freeway. So the location is genius actually lol So people driving along the freeway are going to want to stop, get food, go to the bathroom etc. I ordered the vegetarian nachos and an order of French fries with a coke. After rolling up to the drive thru and waiting for someone to say something I said Hello? Hello? (A couple of times) He finally said "I was waiting for you to order!" I said sorry I didn't know you were there. For which he didn't respond After ordering we drove to the window and realized we didn't have a chance to order a drink so I asked the girl at the window if we could add a drink and she was nice about it BUT the guy taking the drive thru orders was standing behind her and proceeded to shake his finger and mouth "oh fuck no" and roll his eyes. The food was inedible and we worried that he might've done something to it bc he was irritated and rude. We both took one bite of the quesadilla and decided it tasted like dirt (so it might've ended up in the floor before we got it) and threw it back in the bag. The burritos were awful. The orange float was really really orange and weird looking and tasted weird. Once we reached our destination I called the number that I found online, multiple times to report him and ask for a refund and left several messages to their customer service number but no one has EVER returned my call! We absolutely love the Bakers down the way in Yucaipa, and usually go there but unfortunately I passed the exit and we ended up at this lousy place! We will never go there again and their customer service absolutely is the worst. Save your money and go to the next exit to an actual GREAT Bakers with great customer service in Yucaipa instead! the food here can be soooo good or just okay. sometimes i drive further to the one in yucaipa since their fries are always fresh, but there's always a 30 min(or more) wait. i visited my local bakers and loved the service and food tonight. i got a brc with fries and a drink. another party member got a boca burger and fries. we also got an oreo sundae. there was no line and the person who took our order was so sweet and patient. the fries were made fresh and we noticed! the bag was sooo hot. my brc burrito was a bit saltier than usual but i don't mind too much. the sundae was yummy, it had fudge and some crushed oreos on top. my friend said their boca burger was great as well, maybe i'll try that next time! overall tonight's visit was great. usually the food here is good! if you have time i'd recommend driving further for the one in yucaipa, but this one in calimesa is ok too, just don't be surprised if you get soggy fries. read more
