Visited the Calimesa/Yucaipa area and this is where my mother in law wanted to eat. She is familiar with some of the servers here and Danny our host/server was exceptionally kind and helpful. We were into the appetizer where we can choose 3 items. MIL opted for the onion rings. I chose the little slider and hubby chose the mozzarella sticks. All were so good that I was only able to eat half of my main entree. My main entree was the Cali Club. Generous with the proteins in it! For a little extra, I chose seasoned fries. All hit the spot! MIL was happy with her meal from 55 and over menu. An excellent deal! Omelette and pancakes. She ate what she was able to and took the rest home. Hubby chose the potroast sandwich and seasoned fries. For a beverage, he got a glass of OJ. MIL and I got regular and decaf coffees. All good! This Calimesa Denny's is superior to the Denny's in my neck of woods that my fam. and I go to. Ordered them online. There was an issue. Called to complain. Was gaslit by the manager. It shows here you ordered through a third party. No I ordered through the app and there's an issue. For two straight minutes the "manager" wanted to tell me I ordered through a third party. Looks like the dennys app to me. Next time instead of fighting to be right maybe you should ask for evidence or maybe they need competent people to be the manager FYI I ordered the French toast slam and the APP decided to change it without any notice. The food was for uber takeout and it was a lumberjack slam and as I was about to eat my first egg when I saw a yellow green piece of gum on my egg I immediately threw up because I had already eaten from my food! But when I called to express my outrage, the associate Betty didn't seemed phased at all and said a simple refund through the app would do! Last time I order from here and the lack of empathy was outstanding. For sure this place needs to get a visit from health inspectors for sure. read more

Table with 6 adults and 2 babies. Desiree was the epitome of extraordinary customer service. She deserved all of that 50.00 tip we handed her. Ask for her by name. Our food was not good. A sirloin steak, overcooked came back out as a nearly raw flank steak. They took $2.40 off the bill, but I suspect it came out of her pocket. The salad had unwashed produce. Denny's isn't a steakhouse. You get what you pay for food, but being that good at serving us the way she did? Priceless. I'll keep coming back because eventually. I am writing to report a very disturbing incident that occurred at 2pm PST on January 31, 2026 at the Denny's in Calimesa California. As background, my wife and I are retired at have been enjoying Denny's value meals for over a year at the Calimesa store. On average we spend about $200 per month during all days of the week (including weekends) in store 1184 in Calimesa. On January 31st, 2025 when we asked for the value meal menu we were told by the greeter that the store does not offer value meals. When I explained that I have been buyng them regularly from that location for well over a year, she got rude and insisted that they do not offer value meals., I then asked to speak to the manager since the greeter was not even trying to accommodate us. The lobby of the restaurant was crowded and there were customers eating nearby so when the manager came forward I suggested we step just outside the door so as not to disturb her customers. The manager claimed to work for Denny's for 15 yrs. When I explained to the manager that we had been buying value meals for over a year, she insisted that it was not true (basically calling me a liar) and went on to say that maybe I got away with it but I wasn't supposed to get value pricing. I then asked her how long she worked there since I thought she might be new and she indicated that she had been there for 15 years (note neither my wife nor I ever saw this women in 1184 during the dozens of times we were there). I then said that we are leaving and will not return to that store again. As I left, I reminded the manager that we are good customers spending $200 plus each month in the store. The manager then got hot and said she did not care if we never came back. I started to walk away at which point the manager made discriminatory comments about my age, the fact that I am caucasian and cursed at my family I continued to walk to my car while the manager and now some of her staff continued to yell defamatory and discriminatory comments to me and my family right out in front of your store, This was clearly a case of your manager and her staff blatantly cursing out white people and senior citizens in front of Denny's staff and customers. Note that there were little kids hearing the manager and staff screaming obscenities at me and my family as we tried to de-escalate and walk away. Also note, that there were at least two other witnesses that will confirm our version of events. I tried reporting this incident to Denny's corporate over three weeks ago but they never evven bothered to acknowledge the complaint much less resolve the issues. read more

Went to Dennys to use my Birthday Reward that expires at the end of the month. Place does not participate in the rewards program; however, they advertise it inside their menu. They said because the owner is not a franchise, she can do whatever she wants. Just lost this customer. Also, there is a .99c up charge for seasoned fries despite them being the exact same price on the menu. Same for onion rings, .79c difference in price, but will charge you .99c to upgrade. Mixed review: 3 out of 5 stars Waitstaff are fantastic! Management less so. Additionally, the food isn't always prepared as well as we'd like to (one of our orders was poorly prepared and burned on our last visit) and the prices are quite high. All of the waitstaff we've had are all great, but their manager on duty always seems like she's in a grumpy mood, taking away from our overall experience. Given the food preparation can be hit or miss, the high prices, and the not so pleasant manager, our family is less likely to return to this Denny's location in the future. read more

Definitely the best location I have ever been to. Always clean, food is always delicious, and the manager is a delight to be around. I've never had a negative experience here and don't expect to any time in the future. Love the burgers, fries, and hot chocolate. This Denny's deserves 0 stars. It was my birthday month. Denny's sends you a free grand slam to use during your birthday month. I go in about a week before my birthday and the manager says they do not accept the coupon unless it's on the exact birth day (the coupon clearly says birthday month). So I came back on my birthday in the morning to start my day off with a birthday grand slam and the manager says "Sorry, I will not honor that coupon!". I showed her the email and discussed what she told me last time and she still refused to accept the coupon (I have attached the picture of the coupon that clearly states "during your birthday month") I will never go back to this location. read more

I received a birthday coupon for a free value breakfast. The coupon is good until the end of August. I decided to redeem my coupon at the Dennys in Calimesa 1 day after my birthday. The waitress saw that I was looking at my coupon and told me that she does not take coupons at the table. I ordered my free value breakfast. After my meal I went to the cashier to pay. The waitress then tells me that I should have told her that I have a coupon and called for a manager. The manager then tells me that they don't accept birthday coupons at this location, and I should have told them like it really mattered. Keep in mind the waitress told me she don't take coupons at the table. Base on how this situation was handled, the manager could have simply honored the coupon. The manager stood on her ground and charged me for what should have been a free value breakfast meal. The manager then tells me that my coupon is still valid at another location. I won't be going to another Dennys to redeem my coupon after this bad experience. Don't come here with your birthday coupon. The Denny's in Calimesa is absolutely top notch. From the moment we walked in, we noticed how clean it is and how friendly and attentive the staff is. Our waitress was "Vicenta" and she was professional, efficient, and so kind. My wife and I were there to pick up a to-go order for the family. We asked for a cup of coffee and creamer while we waited. Vicenta sat us in a nice little two-seater booth and brought our coffee with all the condiments and to-go cups so we'd be all set as soon as our food arrived (which was quite fast). Long story short, the food was fresh, hot and delicious and the family enjoyed it very much. I've never reviewed a Denny's before, but I've also never been to one so quaint and efficient. This is hometown cooking and hospitality at its best. read more

Went in on New Year's Eve for a meal. I hadn't eaten at this Denny's location in at least 5 years. The server we had (I wanna say her name was Destiny but I'm probably wrong) was awesome. Nicest lady you'd ever meet and they had our food out so quickly, I wondered if they knew we were coming and had it ready. Never been a huge Denny's fan but was really a great experience this evening and they deserve a shout out for exceptional service and a great attitude. Appreciate it. read more

We went to this restaurant on. Sunday about two weeks ago, after not going for a while. We live in Yucaipa and the closest location closed down a few years ago. We normally go to Redlands in downtown where we get fantastic service; however we went here as we did not want to go far. As we walked in they had people waiting in the lobby and no hostess, so the server took our name down and told us it was 15-20 minute wait. Fine no issue we did not mind waiting. From a distance we saw another server with blond streaks with the nastiest attitude and gave off some really bad vibes you could spot from a mile away. I was hoping we did not get her as a server. Luckily she only sat us down; however, upon being seated, she had the nerve to look at our phones without us even asking her about a promotion and told us with a nasty attitude "Just so you know, we don't take that coupon on the weekends, it's only on Monday to Friday." Mind you, we look confused and asked ourselves, what gave her the audacity and authority to peek at our phones and provide information without being asked? This made us so upset, that we almost wanted to walk out. We almost felt sick from the attitude she gave us. I should have complained in the moment or called the manager to complain; however, we're not the type of customers to really complain. So our server came right away and had the nicest personality; however, I don't recall her name. It was a girl with blond hair. She is the only reason we're giving 2 stars, but if I could I would give 0 stars. She made our visit worth staying. The food was good as well; however based on the bad service we received from the other server, we will never ve coming back to this establishment. That lady needs serious coaching on customer service and has no place working at a restaurant dealing with customers. If you don't like your job, just quit. I've been to many Dennys and I mean MANY but this establishment needs some SERIOUS work. I got the French toast slugger meal and my eggs were scrambled but a wet liquid mess was oozing from it as if undercooked. My hash browns were burnt and my bacon wasn't crispy but a flappy little strip. This is the only time I did not finish my food due to how unappetizing and unattractive the food was. I know it's a 2,4,6,8 item but don't get cheap on service Dennys -_- The waitress Mayra was also very rude to other guests in how she responded and treated them so avoid the waitress too.
