I heard about this place a while ago. I never knew where to find one. Found this place during a work break and decided to have breakfast. I ordered a breakfast combo meal - sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich. It actually comes with these tater tot hash browns. Food was good! Stopped by again the next day and it happened to be Tuesday... $1 tacos. Taco Tuesday, so i ordered 3. Then I noticed a sign for $1 soda. Again, good food although I've never had sprite cherry soda before - it tasted like cough medicine. I'll have to try the vitamin water next time. Bakers is my family's favorite. It is so good and fulfilling. The strawberry lemonade is to die for. Their burgers fries and tacoa are so good. My go to meal is the "Twin Kitchen Meal" comes with A drink, burger, fries, and taco. Very affordable and taste amazinggg!! Definitely recommend. read more

How is it that I have never tried this place before?!!! They have delicious food, in particular their tacos. Clean dining area and restrooms and lots of parking. We stopped in here on the way through from Vegas to San Diego and basically just picked it because we saw it right off the freeway on the way to gas up. The service is super friendly and spot on, I would give them 5 stars in this category alone. Unfortunately that doesn't transfer to my whole perspective. The boy and I both ordered burgers and drinks and a shake to share. The portions are good for the price, can't complain there. Flavor of the burgers was basically identical to In N Out in my opinion. Nothing was majorly wrong with the meal as a whole while we were there. We left to hit the road again and seriously made it LESS than 30 minutes before I needed to tell the boy I needed an EMERGENCY stop or I was about to have an accident in his car. So, 20 minute pit stop later, we hit the road, again, and I am in some serious pain and definite discomfort. My stomach is still a little messed up and it's been 24-hours since the incident. Definitely won't be back, but it might be worth it to others if they like In N Out style burgers and their stomachs can handle it. Most ridiculous experience ever!!! I went through the drive thru very late at night and asked to do three separate orders because I was getting food for myself and fellow co-workers that work night for the fire department. As I asked if I can please do the 3 orders the girl stated no that I cannot. She said I can only do two orders and that I would have to go through the drive thru again if I wanted to place a third order. Mind you the most frustrating part is that there was no one behind me waiting to order there was only one car in front of me waiting for their food. I can see if the orders would have been large order but they only consisted of a burrito and 3 tacos nothing major! The food here is good but not good enough to ignore the bad customer service. And I say bad customer service not because they didn't let me do three orders but because the girl that took my order was rude her tone when I went around the drive thru the second time was super rude for no reason. Pretty disappointed with this location lately. My lady and I just went through the drive-thru. Ordered a double Baker Papa meal, a single bakermama meal and a chicken quesadilla. Got charged the chicken quesadilla price (which I ordered) but there was no chicken. Wonderful.Got two parties on the mama baker but did not get the grilled onions ordered. Marvelous. To top it off, apparently there is a napkin shortage because we did not get a single one. No big deal, right? Bakers is the version of In n' Out with green burrito... just like Carls Jr. Only though its not as good as In n Out and the tacos at green burrito are tastier (to my taste). I actually came across Bakers on my way to San Diego from Laughlin thinking that this place was a local burger dinner (I didnt know it was a big franchise until I yelped it) but it was... ehh ok it wasnt a knock off. Maybe I was expecting a bit more, but next time I'll make sure just to go to In n Out down the street... The good: SPICY HABANERO KETCHUP! OMFG Someone finally did it!!! They have a variety of burgers, so if you have a friend or girlfriend who is traveling with you who doesnt like beef or wants a chicken sandwich, they have em here. They also have this so called Taco Burger, I did not try it but it looks like a sloppy joe with veggies... They sell fries by the 1/2 lb. If you are a fry fanatic, this place sells what MCD's was forced to stop selling by the lb. Friendly menu and taco tuesday .89 cent tacos The bad: The burgers are just not that special... I didn't find anything interesting about them.. like I said, they are just like In n Out without the freshness of the meat, without the hot toasted bun and fresh fried fries. Anytime I go through riverside, I have to stop by Bakers because they have an amazing soy menu ( due to being a vegetarian) I wish they had Bakers in Orange County and have written the company to open one in the OC ( sorry that they informed me they couldn't). On our way back from Laughlin we stopped by this location. Food is and always awesome. What made this visit extra special was the manager named Mike. He introduced us to something on the menu which we had not eaten before. He was very personable and gave us great recommendations. He was so great and you can tell he loves his job and enjoys what he does. He totally made us feel welcome. This was one of my favorite spots to go to. Normally good service and food. Tonight The lady on drive through was so rude! Like really rude. She was short with my husband and had an attitude. I got the two bean and cheese burrito meal and it was cold really cold so cold the cheese didn't even melt by the time we got home. The fries where the only thing that was hot. I asked for extra hot sauce for our meals she gave us THREE THREE HOT SAUCES. My husband asked for extra politely and she handed him a hand full and seemed so annoyed about it. My first visit ever to Baker's, ordered the Monterey Chicken sandwich which was delicious. You wouldn't think tea can be made wrong but trust me it can, being solely a tea drinker I know. I love their "Taco Tuesday's" there! Plus, around this time (October) you get a good deal on the Easter Seals coupons that they have! the last time I was there, they got my order wrong, but never the less, the food was very good! What a surprise, prices went up and the quality of food is crap now. Went there and spent $25.00 and in return got nasty stale food and limp fries. Cheese on the burgers wasn't even melted the bread was stale and the patties tasted old and burnt, not like it used to be. Tacos hardly had any meat, cheese or lettuce and the tomato was mushy and old, and the shells were disgusting. Food used to be great and now it's total crap. First time eating at Baker's. Not impressed. I ordered a tostada, a Barbacoa burrito and a bean & cheese burrito. No drink. That's it. Cost me $9.45---and I'm still hungry. The tostada at $2.29 is the biggest rip-off. Literally beans, a lot of lettuce and a 1/4 ounce of finely shredded tasteless cheese. Oh, its topped with a SLICE of tomato too. I guess that's their cute trademark. Well it's a pain to eat. No sauce. No taste. Ridiculous. The Barbacoa burrito was tasty and only beef. Nothing else. But it was small with a huge tortilla wrapping it. At just shy of $5 bucks it is very skimpy. The bean & cheese burrito is just that. Nothing else. Why are all these items served without sauce inside? They are SO dry. You end up with tons of flour tortilla because of a lack of filling too. First burritos I've ever had that were flat like a package. That's how UNDERFILLED they are. Flat rectangular burritos. F L A T. Literally for $4.00 more I could have eaten at a buffet and stuffed myself on a dozen meats, vegetables, deserts. Maybe this place was good years ago, but they are definitely cruising on good will and memories. Every other fast food place on Main Street blows them away on value and taste. You can't just say, "Oh we make our beans fresh and hand cut our lettuce" and expect to charge 50% more than bigger chains. None of the food was objectionable, it was "fine." I do love bakers' food. Especially their habanero ketchup that no other place has. With that being said, I went through their pick up window(drive-thru) yesterday afternoon. The young lady that took my order at the first window was great nothing wrong, however, the lady working the 2nd window either wasn't paying attention or just disregarded my request for the habanero ketchup. Partially my fault for not checking my bag before I took off so needless to say that when I get home and come to the realization that the lady had given me hot sauce instead. Now this may not be a big deal to the average person but when going mainly for that one special thing that this particular chain of restaurants offer.
