When i went there, it was about noon on a Sunday and there was no wait, but from what I am told any other time like dinner time its packed and I could see that being true since it a pretty small place. That being said if you don't like waiting on a table go during off hours. We ordered some chips and guac as an appetizer and it was amazing- and I am not a huge guac eater so that should say something. My main meal were the short rib tacos and wow- some of the best tacos i have ever eaten. I might be a fatty but I could have eaten two orders as the portion size was a real portion and not the inflated fat american size. Overall the atmosphere was good, server was friendly and attentive and pricing was reasonable for being close to downtown. I'd say it is a good place to swing buy sometime during non-peak dinner hours for some amazing tacos. read more

Chose Bakersfield for an all girls late lunch on Sunday afternoon. Lucky enough to grab 3 at the bar, a little noisy but hey we wanted to experience the hype........you can have it. There is that split second where that bartender can make or break you experience ...... Broken. Maybe everyone is drinking the kook aid . The margarita was good the bartender was not the salsa/guacamole was average the bartender was not. The tacos were good the bartender was not. Everything is fresh. Every single item tastes like it was the only thing they had to do. I have been here many times and the quality is always the same: incredible. The perfect business plan is to do things well on a small scale, and do them consistently. I once visited with two cousins who didn't like spicy things or CHEESE. My favoriteee restaurant in Cincinnati ! Its cheap to eat and cheap to drink! You can get a PBR boot for $2.00. The fish tacos are the best. I recommend going earlier in the day as on a Friday or Saturday, its usually a 2-3 hour wait. read more

I came here and put my name in for a party of 8 at 4 PM. They told me between two and a half and three hour wait, and they would call when my table is ready. I checked my phone the whole time and no call. We finally went back at 7 PM and they claimed they called me and I didn't pick up. I had zero missed calls on my phone and showed them my phone history. The managed actually said "well some people delete the calls from their phone"... I could not believe the manager actually accused a paying customer with a party of 8 who will spend a lot of money of deleting the history and being dishonest. Queso was great, green salsa on table also very good. Seating could be better. Wait staff very friendly. Fish taco very good, short rib taco very good, polo Tojo taco a little dry, pork belly taco was good, cochinita pibil taco was good, bistec taco was also good. Margarita was ok, second one was better. The worse part of the meal was the guacamole- the garlic was so overwhelming it took away from the rest of the meal. Couldn't get the garlic taste out of our mouths. I would go back but I wouldn't order the guacamole again. Also if they would offer flour tortillas that would be great. read more

Great restaurant! The chips and queso are must haves. I have tried the following tacos: mole, pollo rojo and short rib. All excellent. It's worthwhile to get an assortment to try, especially if it is your first visit. As some others have mentioned, the only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because of the wait that you can encounter to be seated. The restaurant isn't very big, so it seems kind of cramped even when it isn't crazy busy. It's a good idea to go at an 'off time' (like right before everyone downtown gets out of work). read more

Probably the best margs I've ever had. They're strong but they don't taste too strong to the point it's undrinkable. Food is pretty good, although I prefer Nada's tacos. Service was great. I've been here a few times, most recently sitting at the bar on a weeknight. While I waited for a friend, the bartender was attentive and made sure I was good and didn't need anything else. Only downside is the small space and generally long waits for a table. However just for drinks/standing by the bar, it's excellent. I'll continue to go back and pop in while I wait for dinner elsewhere in OTR. read more

I'm not usually a fan of guac or margaritas, but Bakersfield has converted me. They have the best margarita I have ever tried - it's not too sweet, doesn't taste like straight tequila and leaves you wanting more (you've been warned). The guac is top notch. I can't stand cilantro so fresh made guac always worries me, but they do a great job with balancing all of the flavors. I will say that I do not like the tacos here at all. I've tried 3 different varieties on 2 different occasions and found both times that they were lacking in flavor and the meat was very dry. Also, the service is very hit or miss. read more

But great restaraunt, queso, salsa, and guacamole are great. taco's are good and good beer choice (hot bartender too). This place is FANTASTIC!! The food is absolutely delicious, the preparation, the seasonings and the presentation is second to none. There are no better tacos in Ohio, these guys do it right. The service is exceptional, the atmosphere is electric, and the decor simple but warm and inviting. I could eat here multiple times a week easy. The homemade sauces are also very unique and tasty, I prefer the red sauce, it's kind of smokey, tastes like smoked peppers, killer! Oh Thank Goodness for the OTR revival! We stumbled across this restaurant and I remembered it having been featured on Food Network so, naturally, we gave it a try. With me were the two biggest food critics I know: my two year old son and my 69 year old mother. My mother is the kind of woman who NEVER orders anything off the menu without several modifications but today, not necessary. We ordered a sampling of four of their tacos and one salad. Talk about perfect taste, balance, and presentation. These were high quality ingredients, remarkably fresh and perfectly seasoned. To my surprise, their Huitlacoche (a vegetarian option) triumphed. I also loved the paring of pineapple with their tender pork belly and the robust flavoring of the short rib. Fish was fresh and tender. The Loretta salad was crisp and not overly dressed. My son ate the equivalent of three avocados (I'm not sure if I'm exaggerating), scarfing down on their fresh-made guacamole. The ambiance was perfect. Service was great and the servers seemed to know many of the clientele by name. We were thrilled an will return! read more

Ive been here about 6 times since it opened and it hasn't disappointed once , the food is amazing and puts any other area Mexican so called food to shame . The drinks are delicious and fresh and very strong , so if you're a light weight be warned.The service is stellar, the only thing is the wait is long , but well worth it.
