This place is a gem! I loved the old decor they had, this place could be perfect for a group or just for date night. I was pleasantly impressed by how clean everything was even though it was at the end of the night. We came for date night and decided to try one of their speciality pizzas, the hot honey chicken. It was absolutely delicious! The pickles had a crunch but not over powering, the crust was crispy, and chicken flavorful. Our bartender was quick and polite. Drinks 10 out of 10. I really wanted to like Bakersfield Pizza Co and it wasn't the worst but it wasn't anything that blew me away and made me excited to rush back. I had the Italian Trio and as you can see from the picture several of the toppings were burned, not toast, just burned. It added that burned scent and flavor to the pizza and brought it down for me. The cheese pizza was fine, it was a pretty standard cheese and the sauce was a little light for my liking. I also found the crust to be a bit chewy and not in a good way. It wasn't a great first impression but I'll probably give it another shot because the potential is there, they are generous with the toppings and very friendly so maybe it was just an off night. read more

I ordered a medium and it was huge. Enough for 3-4 to eat comfortably. My hubby had the Margherita Pizza regular style. Unfortunately, this place has gone downhill. I'm 100% positive they've made changes to the pizza crust and it's no longer good. It almost tastes like a Ritz cracker, even with the pan crust. We stopped here during the week. We placed our order at the front and sat ourselves. It was a Monday so there was plenty of seating for dinner. We had a medium pepperoni pizza crispy along with white garlic cream sauce. Pizza was good. A medium was more than enough for 2 of us to share. The pizza was not good at all, tasted weird, my wife and kids couldn't stomach a medium pepperoni pizza. Stay away from anything that has meatballs, utterly disgusting, I wouldn't serve it to my dogs. The garlic fries and ranch were ok. The wings are subpar, honestly disappointing. The chili Verde Mac was horrible. It was so runny. There was no cheese. Just Mac as you can see. That small was $20. The first bite for me and who I was with. The noodles were cold. The pepperoni was $13 and it was ok. Nothing to write home about. The poppers. $6 for 5. They taste just like Jack n the box or sonic. Just a slice of jalapeno. A cheese sauce. And that's it. Mozzarella sticks $6 and I've had better. Today I've been with an upset stomach all day. I honestly think it's from the chili Verde pizza. Another trip to Bakersfield Pizza & Bar, another happy customer! This time I ordered the Ricky Tony pizza. It is a delicious meat pizza with red sauce but with a garlic sauce drizzled on it. Very rich. Very filling. But very delicious!! We got the Garlic Bombs with marinara sauce. ALWAYS DELICIOUS!! I had never tried the onion rings so we decided to get them. They were so good. They had a lighter type breading on them and big onions. Very good. Try them! The restaurant has a nice vibe. The bar is big with plenty of seating. Full bar! Not just beer and wine. Stumbled upon this pizza joint while looking on yelp & saw that they had unique looking specialty pizza's! We ordered a large tropical thunder + a sampler plate for dinner & it did not disappoint. Unfortunately, we didn't get around to eating our sampler plate quick enough so everything was soggy :(, but the assortment of items was good for the price. The tropical thunder is definitely a spicy pizza w/ lots of kick bc of the jalapeño & the habanero drizzle, but you can definitely ask for it on the side if you're afraid of going overboard! The ambiance was typical for a pizza parlor; loud music, big screen tv with sports playing.... Amazing family friendly pizza joint. We went on a Friday night and this place was poppin'. Definitely had a positive vibe and the amount of people here raised our expectations. Place is open seating and you order at the counter or bar, they hand you a number and then you find a seat. There were no open seats when we arrived, but we ordered and were able to find a seat shortly after. Service was amazing. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. There was a young man bussing tables who was extremely friendly and helped us find a table and some drinks. The menu featured wings, salad, sandwiches and of course pizza. There are two crust options, thin and pan. There are some features specialty pizzas as well as build your own options. We opted for a large thin crust with pepperoni, mushroom and olives. Pizza came out in a reasonable amount of time given the traffic and it was hot and fresh. Pizza tasted great and enjoyed by all. The crust was thinner than expected and was not as filling as you may expect. I wish I'd sized up to the XL. We didn't order drinks, but there was a substantial drink menu and I smelled wood burning for a smoked old fashioned when I refilled my water. I was really big fan of this place. We hadn't been there in a while and we went back today only to find out that everything shrunk. We ordered a large salad and when they gave it to us it was a really small bowl they looked at me crazy when they told him that that was a small bowl and they said no that wad their large. And their drinks are in a smaller cup as well. For the price you pay it's not worth it prices went up and their amount of food shrunk. I sure won't be returning there again. We have stopped by BPC a few times and our last visit happened to be on a Tuesday when they have a BOGO 1/2 off for pizzas. Perfect! Their pizzas are very good and they have great combinations with very fresh ingredients. The owner explained the extra lengths they go to in sourcing their cheese. No wonder it is so delicious. Their sides and cheesecake (another well sourced item) are amazing and more good choices. The cheesecake may be the best I have had. So yummy! It is not what you would expect while driving by. This is one of my local favorite spots... that being said, last time I was there they allowed a patron to keep a parrot on his shoulder while other patrons were trying to eat and enjoy their dinner. This seems highly unsanitary. Also, the environments for a bar seem far to loud for a bird. In addition, the parrot was louder than most individuals talking in the place. I am a big fan of almost everything owned by this entrepreneur! All of his restaurant's have a little something different than the competition they have in that category. The feel of this place is local but almost has a late 1800's or early 1900's feel to it. Kind of reminds me of an old west saloon. They offer a full bar, pizzas, salads, sandwiches and more with their own unique twist on every dish. Flavors are robust in everything they offer and you get the quality you would expect from this place!
