We've stayed here previously when passing through and decided to spend a week this time. We made a reservation but had to postpone it by a week. People in the office were great about accommodating the change. We had planned to stay on the river side of the park but ended up on the canal side instead. As it was, that was probably better because the river side also has traffic noise. The location is rather odd, it's right on the Kern River but behind an industrial area. It is just off I-99 and very near all manner of shopping, restaurants and services. We visited Costco, Walmart, Trader Joe's, Buck Owen's Crystal Palace, two veterinarians, a VA clinic and got haircuts-all within a short drive. As mentioned previously, the people in the office were very nice. Park is very clean (bathrooms were immaculate) and has nice facilities including: reasonably-priced laundry; pool/spa; exercise room; recreation room with big screen TV and a small grocery/RV/gift store in the office. Grounds are very well kept by people who start up their equipment at a reasonable time in the morning (as opposed to ridiculous-thirty). read more

We started our vacation here 2 weeks ago and ended it here. We stayed at KOA's and other expensive RV Resorts and none of them compared to this park. The pictures are exactly what you get. The park is easy to get in and out of, and the roads are wide for easy access to the sites. We arrived after hours. Our site information was on the door waiting for us. We stayed along the river. The sites are wide, some have trees, all have grass and a cement pad. This is one of the cleanest RV Parks we have ever stayed at. Everything was spotless. The employees are very friendly and the store has lots of great stuff. Thank you for a great stay. My husband will be back in October!! read more

We recently purchased a MotorHome and wanted to try it out before we took it on a long trip so we went to River Run RV resort to work to out the kinks. It is a very nice park with trees and lots of grass. It's dog friendly and has good cable and wifi. The spaces are big and easy to back into. There is a swimming pool and a barbecue area that is covered. They have a cute little store with a nice array of gift items plus condiments and some frozen food. The bathrooms were super clean and had three big showers with curtains. They keep the park immaculate and the employees were very nice. I would have given five stars but there was a some freeway noice and no picnic tables except for the one barbecue area. The park is nice and quiet and we highly recommend staying there. read more

Pool is now open till 10, which is essential when the lowest temperature is 87 at 3am. My kids basically spent the whole day at the pool except to eat and potty then back to the pool. I also appreciate that the prices at the store aren't crazy. Most other places would have doubled their prices but this is very reasonable. The only downside is the super deep dips. If you're towing an extra vehicle, your tow hitche might scrape. Tons of other scrapes before we joined the mix! Other than that, it's definitely worth it. read more

Do not visit until they change their policies. We booked this placed for a one night over on a long trip. When the office person leaves, the amenities listed on their web site close, including the gym, pool, restrooms and clubhouse. Amenities close at 4:45pm (when people arrive to stay) and don't reopen until 9am the following morning (after campers leave). In 109 degree heat this is not only a nuisance but a safety issue. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Park is super clean and manicured. All the expected amenities are available and even the WiFi is a little better than expected. A little oasis in Bakersfield. There is some freeway noise and you definitely know when the train is rolling by. Very sensitive to the Covid 19 virus and taking the appropriate precautions. Laundry facility is wiped down at least five times a day and public showering is performed by appointment only at this time. read more

What a great little hide away.. We wanted to try out our travel trailer locally before taking it out on the road. Making a reservation was so easy, the woman who answered the phone was very helpful and enjoyable to talk with. The people who stay here are very quiet and aware of other peoples space. Stayed here recently, it is nice overall. Was blistering hot though and very little shade on site. Solved this by heading for the pool and hottub, where were nice BUT a little odd with these massive power lines right over the pool. Main beef and I read some other reviews and was actually shocked to see someone else said the same thing: It doesn't seem safe. Some psycho chased his girlfriend through the park while we were there, yelling obscenities the whole time. No on site staff or security that I could see and this went on many minutes and terrified my kid. Police finally came maybe an hour into the incident. If that's what goes on here there HAS to be more of an onsite presence after 5pm. read more

As you approach this park you travel through an run down industrial area with a really rough road but you are pleasantly surprised when you arrive.....looks new! So I'll start by saying, we just came from a beautiful RV resort with all the amenities working so my review might be different had I not just been to one of the nicest parks I've ever seen. That being said, this place cost the same price so we thought there'd be a little more. The main reason we came here was for the pool. I wrote a fb message to see if the pool was open, never heard back. We understand it's during covid so it's not a huge deal but wouldn't of stayed here otherwise. I stayed in River Run RV park for a little over a year as my job took me to Bakersfield for that time period. River Run RV park combined both that of a luxurious RV park to stay at and affordable rates. The management (Ryan and Noel) are awesome people and go way out of their way to make sure you have everything and anything you need. The owner is a great guy and makes sure the park is always well kept and in order. Some people on here have complained the river is dry, this is so for just a couple months out of the year, but dry or not, you still are at a quiet and safe park. Each site has a large grass area to your self and most of them have patio area for your family to enjoy. The bathrooms and showers are free to use. The small store on site has tons of things you probably forgot to get at the grocery store. They also have a beautiful pool and hot tub, along with a entertainment area and work out room. All of which are very well stocked and kept extremely clean day in and day out. The park is close to a dozen major restaurants, grocery stores, and gas stations, yet it still tucked far enough away that the park stays decently quiet and out of site. A couple of the long term occupants are local law enforcement and provide a safer feeling to the park then any other one in Bakersfield. You should feel safe that your children can run around the park without being harassed. All in all, if you need to come to Bakersfield for a few months, or just a day, this is a great spot for you, your family, and the good 'ol RV. read more

What a little jewel we found en route to LA after driving down from Sequoia and needed a break. Situated behind a retail park which included numerous restaurants and a Costco ( which had diesel). I was a little concerned at first before we entered the driveway. The office was closed when we arrived at 6, but a list of empty spots were posted on the door and an honor system to pay through the mail slot. Very organized. Talk about clean and well cared for !! I never saw one piece of trash, a cigarette butt or water bottle lying around. A picnic table would have been nice but we were only there for one night and it was really too hot to sit outside. July in Bakersfield. Bathrooms and shower stalls were immaculate and the tile work lovely. The pool was warm, jacuzzi clean and a hot shower by the pool to rinse off. We checked in here on our way back to the bay area from palm springs. The park manager is very curious and friendly. Our check in was fast and they gave us a great pull through site so we wouldn't have to unhook. The next morning (Sunday) one of our inside duely tires was flat. The management helped call around town to find a tire shop. They went above and beyond what was expected. We found a 24/7 mobile shop that came to our site and helped get us on thevroad. Even though the park was full they held the site next to us open until we were on the road. Great customer service! The sites were grassy, flat, had cement pads, lit service pods and the bathroom/showers were well lit, warm and very clean. Thanks again for a great stop. read more

I am a frequent visitor to this park, some years as many as three times a year. I have been since it first opened. It is my "go to" when in the Bakersfield area. The park is maintained in pristine condition and I would characterize the restrooms and showers as "exceptional". This has been consistent since the day it opened. The staff is very pleasant and accommodating and the onsite store is well supplied with several major retailers close by in case you forget something. It is owned and operated by a lovely couple whom are engaged proprietors and the pride of ownership shines through all aspects of your visit. My only disappointment is that since it has become the favorite of many like myself I know need to plan adequately and make timely reservations. read more

This is a great RV park! Yes it's Bakersfield, so you're most likely not going here as a vacation spot, but if you find yourself here - stay at this park!! Our experience started by needing an one night stay over a holiday weekend. The online reservation service was not working, so I called. Noel answered and was so nice, professional, friendly and helpful. She booked the site for us within a few minutes. Easy! I knew that the river would be dry at this time of the year, but no big deal. We still booked the river view for the tree line that runs along the river bed. The trees here are really the only trees in the park. But every site has a wonderful little green grassy area. I say green, because we've been to other places that claim grass, but its dead! Not so here. Well maintained landscape. The pool, restrooms and common BBQ with picnic area are very clean! Again, very well maintained and kept clean. The little store was great! I forgot condiments for our dinner, and they had it all there for a reasonable price. I was actually very surprised! While everything did cost a little more than regular grocery store, they don't charge an arm & a leg for anything!! I liked that, because if your shopping at these little places they usually charge double because they can. This place is also very pet friendly! All of the trash bins, are next to a grassy area for pets. They also have a little baggy station. We had three dogs with us, and it wasn't a problem. We saw a lot of people with pets, and everyone was very respectful of one another. Which brings me to other guests. It seems to me there where a lot of "full timers". A lot of rigs set up for a long term stay. Then there are the few that seemed to be passing through. Like us, just a one night stay going on to another destination. Everyone was friendly and respectful of each other. No crazy people staying up all hours with music and drinking. Not a party place, which was great for us. We were tired and just wanted to relax for the evening. Finally, the site itself is priced right! Super inexpensive and worth every dime. The only downside I saw was, no picnic tables at the sites. Kind of odd, I've never seen that before. Again no big deal because it was too hot to eat outside. read more

This is an update of our previous review which is equally good. Over the past few years we have stayed here and always pleased. Amenities are good with rec room, pool and spa. Very clean. Nice little store. The staff is very friendly and seem eager to make your stay pleasurable. A big shout out to them on the treatment shown to us during this stay. Have been here a week due to being evacuated from a forrest fire near our home, hopefully going home soon, from the updates, house is still standing. Nothing but great. It did the job. We slept there for work. TRAVEL NURSES, take a look at Bakersfield RV Resort. You'll get the lower monthly rate within a few days. We stayed here with the assumption we'd pay $600 a month. They didn't tell us the wait list for the monthly rate was a year long. If they did they didn't make it clear. We ended up paying $1300+ for a month here. That's the reason we moved locations. Recreation room always locked. The River is dry this time of year with what seems like every homeless person walking up and down outside the fence. There isn't a gate on the property keeping the rifraf out. Someone stole my hitch adapter (my fault for leaking it out). The other place mentioned above has a security gate, lower rates, restaurant, AND A BAR!! They do have a stacked up store and propane on property which is good. Free internet but if you're on the far end, good luck. Won't be back to this location. read more

BRR is one of the nicest/cleanest Rv parks I have ever stayed at. Our original plans fell through and we are soo happy we found BRR. Not only did they help us kinda late, they made sure we got into our spot smoothly. The park is spotless and so are the bathrooms/ showers. The store on site has everything you need and is reasonably priced! I appreciate the woman who helped us this entire time, we couldn't thank her enough. The RV park is easily accessible and has nice roomy pull-thru spots. We had no trouble checking in after hours and it was quiet. There's a nearby brewery with good food and drinks. We would definitely stay again during our travels through the area. read more

First time at River Run. We arrived late but called in advance to let them know. Found our reservation pinned to the office door as promised. Hookup was quick and easy. There is a lighted pedestal where the hookups are located. No fumbling in the dark. I took a walk around the grounds in the morning. The grounds are clean and well maintained. The "General Store" is stocked with the essentials. All and all a very good place to stay. We had an emergency and were not able to make it to our original reservation at the beginning of our trip. It was too late to cancel. The staff was very accommodating and allowed us to change our reservation. We will be using River Run as a way station for future trips. read more

I live locally, but was tipped off to this spot because they carry raw milk and cheese in their market. It's the most affordable raw milk prices ($13/gal) in town and they will order weekly for you. I also got a 32 oz jar of local raw honey there. I'm very pleased and will likely make this place a regular shopping stop. read more
