As they say "Life is what Happens when you're busy making other plans" Let me say this though.... what a wonderful experience and incredible results. I started treatments on my legs with Dr. Mallik in June of 2019. Both him and his nurse made me comfortable right from the start and although I live in Ridgecrest, Ca. I never will regret having to drive to Bakersfield for the doctor's care and treatments. I had been suffering for the last 6-8 years on a daily basis with leg discoloring due to poor circulation, severe varicose veins in my lower legs, numbing of the feet, excruciating pain from my feet up thru my calves all the time, swelling and constant tingling in my feet, and the inability to stand each morning without 20 mins or so of wishing i could just shoot myself to make the pain go away. After 4 procedures and umpteen treatments I finished my last session in December To be honest, I had residual marking and swelling after most of the appointments just as Dr. Mallik had explained but each time i started noticing improvement... every single time things kept getting better. As of today 6/13/2020 I am still amazed how much better my legs feel. I'm sleeping thru the night, there is no more morning pain and my legs look great. When I was leaving, he rushed over demanding a $20 copay. I explained that my deductible and out-of-pocket maximum had already been met, so I did not owe a copay. Even after I verified this with my insurance, he continued yelling and instructed the staff not to let me leave until I paid. His behavior became so aggressive that I felt frightened and ran out of the office. Although my procedure had been fully approved, I never returned because of how I was treated. They called me everyday for almost a month asking me to go back in to have my procedure done. I also never received a bill which showed I did not owe them the $20 they were demanding. This happened some time ago, so I hope things have improved since then.

I have been with her for over 8 years and she is a doctor who listens, addresses concerns, and puts patient care at the center of her practice. She is clear with options and risks with medications, and is clear with follow up instructions. She is a very professional, kind, and caring doctor. I am always able to get into see her in a reasonable time and have referred other friends to her who have also told me how much they like that they have a doctor who listens. Dr. Sharma has given me referrals as needed over the years to specialists who have also been very helpful in addressing other medical needs that have come up with illnesses, injuries, and required testing that is needed with aging. One of the best things about this practice is that you can get your bloodwork done in house - so it's nice to have a morning appointment, come to the appointment fasting, and get your bloodwork done right away- no other appointments or trips to a lab needed! Her office staff is very nice and helpful. They are efficient with paperwork needs and have always been professional and friendly. If you are looking for a primary care physician, Dr. Sharma might be your great fit!

Despite arriving early, I waited over 2 hours and 10 minutes to be seen. Staff later incorrectly stated that I arrived at 3:30 PM, which was completely false, and claimed that I had missed my appointment. After a lengthy discussion, I was finally called in. My blood pressure reading was significantly elevated at 184/97, and staff immediately recommended an EKG. I requested to speak with the doctor first because I had already completed an EKG during my previous visit two weeks earlier, and the results were normal. Instead of receiving a proper explanation, I was told, "If you don't want to follow instructions, you can leave," which I found extremely rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. After waiting another 20-30 minutes and continuing to advocate for myself, I was finally able to see the doctor. However, after the visit, no one rechecked my blood pressure, discussed the elevated reading, monitored my condition, or provided clear instructions regarding follow-up care. I was simply told that I was "good to go." This level of care felt unsafe and concerning, especially given the significantly elevated blood pressure reading. The communication, professionalism, and overall patient care during this visit were extremely poor. Patients deserve to be treated with respect and provided appropriate medical attention and monitoring, particularly when potentially serious health concerns are involved.

On several occasions, I missed appointments purely unintentionally, at this office. "My bad" - without question or excuse. So, my conscience being my guide, led me to go to Dr. Duggal's office to hopefully explain the extenuating circumstances regarding these missed appointments. I was very hesitant, thinking that I might be kicked out of her practice! And rightfully so - if that were the case...but it was NOT. I was permitted to speak to Dr. Duggal's Office Manager, "Summer." She allowed me entrance in to her office, quietly closing the door, and I began by apologizing profusely saying that in no way do I ever want to miss an appointment because that would have been someone else's spot. "Summer" listened intently to the extenuating circumstances I shared, explaining that I was not there to tell her my life's problems, but that these truly were the prevailing circumstances. With aplomb, she sat quietly and with an open mind, allowing me space to share this unfortunate life circumstance that is prevailing, continued listening. I was so overwhelmed by her professionalism, kindness and caring that at one point I became a tad weepy. In her kindness, she offered me a tissue. Where on this planet would any patient be afforded the opportunity and TIME to be heard? WHERE? No where that I know of...no where. I will never forget this as long as I live. This office is a gift to the medical profession in this town, and Dr. Duggal's entire staff is as well. Always welcoming patients with tender smiles, kind nods, and lending ears. Such an example to other medical offices here...I absolutely cannot THANK Dr. Duggal's office staff enough, and in particular, "Summer" for who she is...a true, caring professional in the medical field. I like to think of YELP reviews as presenting experiences that lend themselves to the readers' own mind of discerning the "right" or "wrong" of a situation. Often times readers "get their panties in a wad" over an experience that is not shed in good light. Why? Let's all seek to be the SOLUTION to a problem or "one-off" experience that is not good...instead of crucifying the reviewer for sharing a problem - further demonstrating the truth of the review and of their inability to accept constructive criticism.

I started my chemo at AIS on March 1,2024 and went through 20 sessions for my stage 3C rectal…read morecancer and ended it on December 18, 2024. I wanted to try radiation but my oncologist said it wouldn't work and didn't even want to make an attempt to try it. I got a second opinion from UCLA and started radiation treatment in February 2025 at CBCC, Bakersfield. Neither the radiation or the chemo did anything to stop the progress. I started Fenbendzole 222mg with Ivermectin 12 mg on May 28, 2025. I took both daily for the next year, then had a PET scan done in July 2026. The PET scan results showed absolutely NO metabolic activity and what looked like a tumor to the doctor who reviewed the results was just dead tissue cells. So, I cured myself and neither facility would comment on my alternative medical treatment. Please help yourself, do your own research and don't allow these medical facilities to tell you there's no cure. If they don't write a scrip, they make no money. It's just a big business to them. No with my body!
