I've been into k-foods more and more over the past few years. I fell in love with their coffee and pastries, so I've been hopping around looking for new places. Parking: Free parking lot. They're located in a high foot traffic plaza. Finding a spot will be difficult. Ambiance/Environment: This lovely bakery is located inside the AR Korea Plaza. They're in the very back corner near the front entrance. They have a small corner space filled with freshly made pastries. Everything is organized and labeled with prices. There's a shared indoor seating area. Service: There were two workers. I was greeted immediately when I came by. They speak Korean and English. Very courteous, quick, & efficient. Drinks & pastries: I got the Dabang Korean Coffee and Peanut Butter pastry. I absolutely looove the pastry! The peanut butter wasn't too overwhelming or sweet. They offer all types of coffee from Dalgona to Dabang. Dabang is a classic Korean style coffee. It's quite strong. I prefer it creamier, but it was still good! Got the too good to go bag. They had no ratings and it said new so maybe they just didn't understand the concept of too good to go but I only got less than $8 of bread for a $6 bag. Only included one corn cookie, half a soboro type bread and one sesami tapioca ball. It would have been better to just choose what I wanted and pay for the original price. This bakery is such a hidden gem. They are located inside AR supermarket. All their baked goods taste amazing, and my favorite is their fresh bread. I come here almost every week to buy a loaf because it is always soft, fluffy, and freshly baked for $8. They also have a nice selection of cakes that look delicious, especially the fresh cream ones, although I have not tried them yet. If you are looking for a small smash cake for your baby 1st birthday or just want a sweet treat, this is a great place with fair prices. Bakery Village is located inside Arirang Supermarket, which can be found in the Korean district in Garden Grove (I actually never knew there was a Korean district in Garden Grove before and so my husband and I drove to this area just to see what stores and restaurants were available). My husband and I stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon to see if we could pick up some produce. And seeing that there is a food court in this market, I knew that I would like to make a stop afterwards. I am glad I did because I found a variety of yummy baked goods at this bakery. Most baked goods were about $2-3 each. I did purchase this container of small rolled baked goods. I don't know the name of them but have purchased these items from other Korean bakeries in the past. The container I picked cost ~$8. My total purchase was $20 and everything tasted very good over the next few days. Service was very friendly. The older woman who rang up my transaction seemed like a very sweet person. Please note that there is a minimum $10 purchase for credit card transactions. If it under $10 then there is a $0.50 transaction fee. There is seating in the food court in case you wish to eat whatever item(s) you purchase. There is also restrooms (but on the other side by the grocery store, right next door to the produce section). My sister and I LOVES this place! We would always stop by after grocery shopping to get their fresh cream bread, coffee bun, and their milk tea! Our favorite thing is the milk tea slush with boba because it taste like a royal milk tea that's not too sweet or too bland, it's just soo good! She is so sweet and would rat-tat-tat-tat off in Korean but 95% off the time I would just smile and say 예 (ye) without fully understanding what she said . They even have sale bread from the day before that is only $1 and still tastes extremely fresh! Rude/racist. Called in to let them know I'm stopping by to buy a cake. I got there and it took her a few mins to acknowledge me (even though I was standing right in front of her) and recognized I was the one who called. I eventually moved in front of the cashier and waited another 5-10 mins as she tries to get the shaved ice machine to work. Another (Korean) customer eventually comes up and stands next to me (not even behind me like what people in line normally do) and puts her tray down. I'm like okay, those 3 pieces of pastries must've been too heavy. Then, this lady starts tapping her fingers and the employee immediately comes up to ring her up. I called her out saying I was first in line and have been waiting for a while now and she dismisses me with a hand gesture like shoo get away. Because of the pandemic situation, I was worried that small businesses would close down, but thankfully this bakery is inside the market, so it's up and running!! Been coming here for several years, and it's cool how their bread quality keeps getting better and better! The best part about this mom-and-pop bakery is that you can get 10 assorted bread for $10 and the quality is on par or even better than most bougie bakeries--truly bang for the buck LOL I like their gombo bread, which is basically a peanut cookie bread and i love how it's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside All of their cream breads are good too but I love their rollcakes the most!!! You must try their rollcake.. you just need to try it. They know how to get the cream to bread ratio right and it's not too sweet and the texture is perfectly moist I know it's a hard time for everyone, but I hope we can all help each other out and also support small businesses like this that are being heavily affected by the current climate, so if you're in the area or need to go to the market, check this place out! The baked good looks really good, smells amazing, fresh items are pumped out (we visited at 10:45am on a Saturday). The people working there are friendly and helpful. We got a basket full of goodies and the highlights were the fried donut and the red bean mochi bun. Cream puffs were lacking in flavor but everything else was good. read more

We came on a Saturday at 10:30am and were delighted to find so many varieties of bread! Most Asian bakeries have substantially reduced their bakery items due to these Covid times, but not this bakery. All their $1.75 breads (all items on right wall) were "7 bread for $10 if cash" (in essence, $1.43 each, which is a bargain!) Other breads on a table near the cash register were $2.50 each. They also sell mammoth bread, cookies, cake rolls, cakes, and cream puffs. Many of their breads were good, especially the ones with red bean or buttercream filling. Some of the breads were a bit dry though. We did not like their Almond Scone and Raisin Scone (Their flavor and texture were terrible. They were greatly lacking in butter and sugar.) Another usual stop for me when I'm at Arirang Supermarket. I just never knew the name of the place until last night, when I saw their name off my debit charge receipt. Yes, it's NOT cash only! I also like their prices compared to the bakeries in the area. And by area, I mean next door. Difference of $.40 -$.60 per item. In fact, there's a deal they offer: 14 variety of breads for $10. There are other items however I've only gotten their bread items which I usually inhale for breakfast and late night snacks. As for service, you grab what you want and bring it to the register. This bakery is located in the Arirang market. I always stop here because I love the taste of their fresh baked white loaf of bread. They have the best bargains for freshly baked breads and pastries. They also make boba's , coffee and teas. Their Taro is delicious but my favorite is mango. It taste so fesh and refreshing as though your biting into slices of mango. Sooo good! So if you're looking for fresh/inexpensive and tasty Korean, breads and pastries then you have to try them. read more

Didn't know this was the name of this bakery?? But anywho I've been going to this bakery for years now as long as arirang has been open almost. I have to say going to this bakery is hands down better than Paris Baguette or Tous Les Jour, the other two are almost twice as pricey and not half as tasty!! The owner lady is very sweet, nice, helpful... I love their gorokke and a few weeks back they started selling the salad bread too, which is super tasty! I highly recommend either of those breads. But they have all the other goodies too like the butter bread, chop sal (red bean donut) and other stuff, along with the choose 12 breads for $10 which is a steal these days with the price of breads at korean/asian bakeries, this and manmi bakery are the bomb in garden grove, it's nice that this place does take card though!! read more

HOW TO FIND THIS PLACE: Go inside the AR Korean supermarket. Look to your left and you will see a small food court. Walk all the way to the end of it and there is Pescadores!!!!!!!!!11! Breads here are priced around 80 cents to $1. How awesome is that? Especially if you're planning on buying a shit ton of bread. The bread is fresh and yummy as well, so don't worry if you bought like 20 breads and it ended up tasting nasty. I only bought a few on my first visit here. My favorite was the coffee bread which had a light fluffy coffee cream inside. I didn't particularly like the scones. They had a weird crumbly texture, unless that's how scones are supposed to be like. *shrugs* I would come back since I live so close by! I bought a vanilla roll for $10. The bread was soft, but as the cream inside, they lacked flavor. It was very bland and the cream was so buttery it left a thin film in my mouth. I had to give the loaf away because I was not going to eat it. Also, I bought some gummy pizza shaped candy for my sister and each one was $1. I asked the woman how much they were and she hesitated and gave me that price. I can buy those for .50 at other stores. I dont appreciate getting over-charged. I always went by their Korean name so I had no idea what this place was actually called except that it is located inside Arirang Supermarket and they have tasty bread. I don't come to this market very often but when I do, I usually stop by the bakery to pick up some bread. 14 for $10. That is a bargain in my book. Grab a basket, and look through the aisles of bread and pick whatever you want. I always grab a couple of the same things. White, red, or green bean paste filled buns. Yum. I also am a huge fan of their Peanut Butter type bread. I've tried basically every single type here and they have all been good. If you are getting tired of fancy Asian bakeries that offer soooooo cute pastries (but taste not so cute), cute decor, but at outrageous price to pay for all their fancy ambiance, and if you want to have some good sweet buns as your mom and pa used to eat when they were young in their homeland, try this place. This bakery is located in Ari-rang Super Market (A R Supermarket) food court. The breads and pastries they make are Korean style but very similar to Japanese and Taiwanese. Their products have changed very little and actually improved a bit in taste in spite of several ownership changes past 20+ (30+?) years. While some of the Korean bakeries have gone through modernization/upgrade in the home country and started building branches in US e.g. Paris Baguette, Wien (you mean Vienna?).. This Bakers' Village seems to be stuck in a time warp baking the same old Japanese/Korean pastries that have been around past 50+ years. Crown Bakery nearby is basically the same style, and there are a few in Southern California of this type. Of course they make nicely decorated birthday cakes and wedding cakes as well as sliced sandwich breads and baguetts, I visit this place however to pick up sweet pastries which include red ,white, or green bean paste filled buns, peanut butter crusted scone, butter cream sandwich, chewy cruller donut made of wheat and sweet rice flour, "Croquet" donut filled with potato/meat salad, Cornbread style scone, and Japanese "manju", so on. Most of these sweet pastries are only $0.80, which is ridiculously cheap. "Bakers' Village" is my translation of their Korean name meaning a village that bakes (?). Their English business name is Pescadores which could mean a group of islands near Taiwan or fishermen in Spanish. This makes no sense at all. The owner and staff of this bakery do not seem to care since they are strictly catering to the Asian customers who visit A R Supermarket and the food court. They seem to believe in "If you build a great mouse trap at dirt cheap price then world will ....." Yes they do bake wonderful breads, cakes, and pastries but they need some promotion help. Probably no English is spoken here. But no matter, don't say a word. You just grab a basket and collect whatever breads or buns you want and give it to cashier. Silence is not necessarily rudeness in Korea or in Japan. read more

mmm i just dont like their bread...!! they seems to put the same cream in every of their cream bread, just different shape... and it doesnt taste like korean custard cream at all, it taste more like whipping cream.. and i didnt like it.. im glad i only bought 5, though i almost bough 14 because of the 14 for $10 deal.. but even so, i should have just bought 1-2 for me to try first.. so i wouldnt come back here.. i rather go to manmi bakery since their bread and cream cone is actually a custard cream and they have cheaper bread too, 80cent/piece compare to 90cent/bread here. read more
