I was looking for a bakery in the city for a loaf of bread (so I didn't have to move my car). This gem was a 10 minute walk from Beacon Hill. It's located right by the Public Garden on Tremont Street. You can get everything here: fresh bagels, sweets, loaves of bread, and I think they even have what you need to make a sandwich. They even make coffee & lattes. We used the bread to make breakfast & it was fantastic!! I will definitely make this part to my weekly shopping walk through the city! read more

SO DELICIOUS! The chocolate babka is my partner's favorite-- he can eat an entire loaf to himself. There's a good amount of chocolate in it and it's moist. My partner said after trying it for the first time that it's a good thing we don't live too close or else he would be packing on some weight. My favorite is the cinnamon babka, also very moist and not too sweet. I've basically tried all the babkas and sweets, and they're all good. Very attractive shop though the layout is challenging as they have you line up in front of the display cases which blocks the view of the person attempting to order. Bakey was a must-stop destination on our recent trip to Boston, after learning that they not only have chocolate and cinnamon babkas, but also have s'mores babkas and mushroom babkas! So many delicious choices that we ordered a sampler assortment for our visit and the staff even specially wrapped up a chocolate babka for the plane ride home. I have not been this excited about a new bakery in the Boston area in a while. Bakey lives up to its slogan of "Ridiculously Fresh, Ovens Always On". The breads, pastries, and cakes are constantly being created in the background of the open kitchen concept in the store. We got three goodies (one gifted to us!) this morning: Cinnamon Babka - pillowy soft bread with just the right amount of sweetness and tons of cinnamon goodness. Summer cake - the most surprising find of all. The blueberries are incredibly flavorful and not overwhelmed by excessive sugar. The almonds add a nice texture Cheesy Burekas- warm smooth feta cream cheese inside a PERFECT puff pastry. Topped with sesame seeds. Overall, excellent flavors and perfect level of sweetness for those who enjoy a sweet treat without being overwhelmed by sugar. A new gem in Boston!! We walked in and immedietly could smell the fresh baked goods! It's a large open space with a decent amount of indoor tables. They sell numerous dips and then loaves of babka along with single slices of almond, chocolate, cinnamon, apple or raspberry. LOVED THE chocolate and raspberry slices and will definitely be buying a whole loaf next time! We also tried the spinach and cheese bureka which I highly recommend... the pastry was flaky, it was delightful. They also sell loaves of sourdough and challah and it looks like they had an espresso machine as well. We were walking around the area after exploring Boston common and we found ourselves across the street looking at the shops when we came across Bakey. While walking by we noticed the rainbow stickers on the window and it caused us to look in (we will go anywhere with welcoming rainbows) and we saw the delicious looking baked goods inside the store and couldn't help but be drawn in. Upon entry we saw the many fresh looking baked goods such as cookies, breads, bagels, babkas and more. Everything looked absolutely amazing and I had a hard time not picking up one of everything. I ended up with a chocolate chip cookie, a bagel, cheese roll, and an apple babka. The cookie had a lot of chocolate and was chewy and crisp but still soft. The bagel was light and very soft.
