I went with a friend on a Saturday morning for coffee and a pastry. The line was almost out the door but moved relatively quickly. It's a little bit of a European vibe with the small tables and I love that there is a big window into the kitchen so you can watch the pastries being made. You order everything at the counter and then pick an open table where your food is brought to you. The oat milk latte with honey was phenomenal and so was the feta honey danish! We got ours to go this time but definitely will be going back to try more pastries and to sit down for breakfast or brunch. read more

Probably one of the better lattes that I've had in a while! Definitely recommend their hot regular latte. The barista there has their coffee pull down. I also tried an iced flat white but it wasn't as good.. something about the steamed milk with the perfectly pulled espresso was a stand out! The pastries are fine. Good but nothing special. We tried the pistachio croissant, banana bread, and chocolate croissant. Banana bread was fluffier and less moist than I would like. Both croissants were good, I liked that they weren't too sweet. Long line when I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed. We took to go but even if we wanted to stay, there were no open seats. Four stars for the coffee and food, unfortunately the pastries are just ok. I've tried all their croissants and their palmier and even when heating it up at home they're nothing special. I wanted to love this place but it's just...fine. Food is definitely on the pricier side but the sandwiches are delicious. I like the lattes but really enjoy their americano and regular coffee which lean more on the dark roast side. The space is super nice and there's a good amount of tables which makes it a good place to grab coffee or food with co workers. Beautiful cafe with European vibes. I visited this cafe for lunch and by 1pm the pastries were mostly sold out. Luckily the cardamom bun was still available. I enjoyed the soft delicately flavored bread along with the delicious kale salad. That kale salad was filled with a variety of textures and flavors and topped with different spreads. This was my second time trying Elephantine, and this time I'd give it a 5 instead of a 4! Last time I went it was amazing, but this time I enjoyed it so much more. Maybe it is because the place has been open for a longer time now - the first time I went, it was still relatively new. My dad and I ordered the Turkish Poached Eggs and the Egg Sandwich and split them, and both were so delicious and bursting with flavor. I also drank the cardamom honey latte, which was so yummy - definitely better than the last time I went. The ambience is gorgeous and very comfortable - we stayed for a few hours since it's such a nice vibe. It feels chic, sophisticated, and aesthetic without feeling stuffy. Gosh this is easily one of my new favorite spots. The color scheme, the friendly staff, the yummy food, the good lattes, the excellent pastries, the location -- what's not to love?! I tried the cilbir for breakfast and really enjoyed it (the green herb topping was especially flavorful). The chocolate pistachio croissant is at risk of becoming something I crave on the regular. Elephantine is a remarkable bakery/cafe! There's absolutely nothing like it anywhere else in Boston, and its spot just along water adds to its chic, calming, and charming atmosphere. The interior has a wide variety of seating and is very spacious even during peak ours. The staff is friendly, fast serving, and professional making the experience feel almost like a restaurant or just a very nice cafe you'd find straight out of Paris! And the pastries of food transport you to Europe just as easily- their dessert case up front is filled with masterfully crafted, delicate pastries with beautiful sounding flavors. And their breakfast lunch menu is stacked! They offer such unique dishes, like their turkish poached eggs which are unmatched in flavor and freshness. While this spot is a little pricey, the food delivers on quality, taste, presentation, portion size, and really everything. I WILL be back to try the rest of their menu. Went for the Apertivo, I've been to the cafe as well but feel like everyone at this point knows how successful they are as a cafe. The menu is small and we had 6 dishes total including a dessert. Vibes were A+ beginning to end with flowers at each table. Definitely an Italian slant on the menu but the standout was the prosciutto and chips. One of those things that seems like a super easy dish but is a perfect combo of flavors and was pulled off excellently. Had a few of the wines as well and appreciate that they were a little unique compared to the typical cab sav/sauv blanc house wines. My partner and I would make trips out to NH for Elephantine. We were so excited for it to open in Seaport. First off, the service was impeccable. The Maître d' that greeted us, sweet Egyptian man whose name escapes me, made the entire experience memorable and welcoming. Appertivo was so beautifully plated and the hot cup of chocolate was exactly how I remembered it. The food - olive oil was delicious. Ambiance was beautiful and plating was gorgeous. As soon as you walk into the cafe, you feel like you've been transported out of Fort Point! The decor is stunning, and I loved the fresh floral arrangements. Service was fast and friendly. The menu was kind of hard to read due to the cursive font that is used. From an accessibility standpoint, they should consider using a more simple font like the one that states what pastries they have. They have a large assortment of sweet treats and pastries. It's really hard to choose just one. I chose the lemon ricotta danish. For lunch, I ordered the eggplant sandwich. The flavors were bold and unique. It was a little bit hard to eat cause the eggplant was falling out but nonetheless very tasty. I wish it had come with a side salad or a side of homemade chips. My friend had the croque madame and it looked good. For drinks I enjoyed a hibiscus iced tea and my friend had a London fog. Both were yummy. This is a European style cafe with great pastries and decor, but less good chai. I would give it 4.5 stars if I had that option. I have to say that this place is beautifully decorated and adds a lot of character to the Seaport area! The servers behind the counter were very helpful in answering my questions. There is no chai on the menu but they do serve it. Ordered: - double chocolate croissant: this was epic. There was such an intense chocolate to dough ratio and that's exactly what I wanted. Melted in my mouth and was so delicious. - chai latte: I can't really recommend this? I don't drink a lot of caffeine so I thought this would be a nice alternative. It was very milky and I didn't discern much chai. I would not pay what I paid for it again. I'm unsure if they have matcha but perhaps better to just get a decaf latte or something. My friend got a honey feta pastry that looked beautiful and she said it was delicious. Her cappuccino looked better than my drink. I think this is a wonderful place to sit and chat; there's a good amount of seating! And they have a large glass window where you can watch the bakers work. I have been a fan of Elephantine in Portsmouth so when I saw they opened a location in Boston, we had to pay a visit!! We always love the Turkish egg poach! The sourdough was amazing and perfectly crunchy!! However, to have enough bread for everything, I need to learn to order a side order of sourdough next time! My partner had the egg sandwich and it was amazing!! My daughter had the chocolate croissant and she wished there was more chocolate as the ratio between chocolate to croissant was low. There were a lot of people so I have to say it was competitive to get a table to sit! I personally cleaned 2 tables myself so that we would get the table and be able to sit down. I've been a long time fan of the Portsmouth NH location so I was beyond thrilled to see a new location open up in seaport. The space is large and bright, lots of windows. It's a similar order setup to Tatte, you order at the counter they give you any pastries you may have ordered and then give you a number to place on your table. We both got cardamom lattes which were delightful. I had the ham and cheese croissant while super tasty, would definitely been better warmed up. This place is relatively new and already super popular (which is obvious from the long lines on the weekend), but it's worth the hype in my opinion. We waited about 15 minutes in line and ordered a latte, egg sandwich, and cardamom bun. My friend and I were very worried we won't be able to find seating, but a staff member saw us looking for a table and showed us to an available section which was very kind. After about 10 minutes, our drinks came out to our table and after about another 10 minutes, my friend's food came out too. Not sure why, but my food was taking a bit longer, and a member of the staff graciously came over and gifted us 3 pastries (!!!) and apologized for the wait. Shortly after, my egg sandwich arrived. Everything was super tasty here and portions were generous. The sandwich was a bit difficult to eat but still had a unique savory flavor thatI enjoyed. My favorite was probably the cardamom bun, which was soft, buttery, and perfectly flavored. I'm in Boston for a tradeshow, and I always look for great coffee shop shops when I'm in the city that I'm not familiar with. Follow the yelp reviews on this one and I'm glad I did. The space is large and welcoming with lots of activity. The staff were all friendly, and I watched them joke around with regulars. Normally, my review would be just about the coffee, but I had a mortadella sandwich that is somewhere in the top five sandwiches I've ever had in my life. This is truly a special place. Not only are the pastries made with such care and so delicious, the space is gorgeous, and it is run by the loveliest people! I haven't had croissants this good since visiting Paris (I especially love the double chocolate one), and the cinnamon roll is the best in the city- perfectly fluffy and flavorful without being cloyingly sweet. Pistachio croissant 7/10 Pretty good with lots of pistachios and not loaded with too much cream. Flour and Tartine, two great concepts, now have serious competition in Boston. We've been Elephantine customers since they first opened a tiny bakery in Portsmouth, NH. We heard they had recently expanded to a location in the Fort Point Channel and finally had a chance to visit. There was a fairly long line to the entrance door but thanks to attentive service the line moved quickly. We especially love the baguettes, which the owner, Sherif, said took him lots of practice. The croissants are perfect and the sandwiches are standouts as well, plus the yogurt dish. The specialty coffees are also very good. The setting almost feels like a cafe in Europe, the buildout is beautiful, with the buzz of family and friends enjoying food and company.
